  • Hi this video is very helpful and insightful. On dealing with alcoholism in people that ya love it's like the tenth circle of Hell .thanks for the helpful insight.

  • You don't affix your name with "MS".. you only uses suffixes if you're a licensed person, such as MD, CPA, Attorney at Law and so forth. This person showing an MS in his title is over-blowing his accomplishments and title.

  • Theys people are the real dependent one they wan't you dependent on them.

  • I would love to discuss this topic in my psychology class.

Also, you should explain NPD (narcissism) in here too, since so many codependents are involved with narcissist.

  • Excellent! Very Informative! Thank You!

  • This guy is very good. I wish that my family could sit down and listen to him, but I know that will never happen. He has good communication skills and explains things very calmly, and he encourages you to pay attention. Love it.

  • Great video - thanks for posting!

  • i like this video

  • It doesn't take an addicted person for one to be a co-dependent, does it?

  • @YouKidsNever Umm not really, I'm codependent and no one in my family smokes, drinks or anything. I don't do any of these things neither, but I have found that my mom has some codependent behavior and her dad WAS an alcoholic, as well as my two uncles. In my Dad's side, his father was an alcoholic too.

I think I learned this behavior growing up. I've also heard that there could've been NO addicts in your family for generations but the behaviors could've been passed on and still affect you.

  • @JasminPamela People don't have to smoke, drink or have an addiction in order for you to be codependent. All you need is to have a relationship with a person who is controlling or domineering, or other behavior problem that affects us to the point we enable that particular behavior. It could be rage, manipulative behavior, etc. Definitely we learn the behavior growing up.

  • thanks for this video, brought me to tears.

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO series : )

learning about my co dependence has been monumental in my life; and for my children. I have began to heal. I still am not able to have a healthy relationship( I can go for months without a "blow up" but I need so much still...

so thank you for your wonderful contribution to the world

  • This is well done!!! And it's FREE. You would have to pay an inpatient/outpatient $100.00 for this kinda stuff.

I'm a grandchild of an alcoholic and it has ruined our family for decades!!!! Thanks for the insight!

  • lol, so wrong but so funny!

  • For those of you who will smash this video because it's not entertaining, guess what? IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE! This is a sample of a video made by affiliated psychotherapist Jef Gazley; he has a whole series of videos on psychological issues and they're for informative purposes. Keep that in mind.

  • I wholeheartedly agree. This video series is not a bunch of Disney movies trying to have a moral, nor are they high budget Hollywood production films of meaningless fluff. What I have found in the series is an amazing amount of insight that will come in handy for anyone who is trying to figure out themselves and their lives. If you are in search of some self-awareness, these videos really help.
