  • that is 1 klean ass custom box

  • what was the yellow stuff u put down ,befor the primer. and how much was that pink gallon of it. thanks for the info

  • I'm pretty sure that the "yellow stuff" was a form of filler. Bondo if you would.

  • bodyfiller for sure. or a lightwieght fiberglass filler any auto store supplies it

  • awesome

  • how much was it for the thing's u need to make that

  • i have both halves to a volcano speaker box that i made out of my spare tire compartment, but how do i put them together. Please help!! :-(

  • keep up the good work!

  • Nice build. I make them all the time and I will never use fleece again. The cloth doesn't wet out with resin very well and the strength to weight is horrible. Not to mention the cost of all the resin the fleece soaks up. Try using a really thin stretchy first layer of cloth to get your shape and then woven fiberglass closs for three or four layers over that. You will avoid the need for body filler all together.

  • make a video of you making a sub box

  • out of all of the videos i've looked at, i have a better idea on how to make me one. by tha way, nice work!

  • I like this video. It would be really neat if you did more pictures with labels. Or showed some of the applying the resin and glass... Im making one of my own.. i really have no fiberglass experience. Check out my video. I got a feeling it will be very nice in the end.

  • step by step...nice werk keep up the vids

  • whats da name of dis song

  • nice bro

  • What kind of cloth do you use?

  • Fleece provides no strength. Just the shape to glass over. I don't even use fleece most of the time. I use a fiberglass cloth for the initial layer and chopped matt on the inside once the first layup dries. I don't do drastic shapes with this method...but it's stronger and no added weight from resin/fleece combo.

  • hey hope u will answer my quesstion. what are the dimentions od the box and the ports.i am going to make one just like yours but it will be for a 10" driver

  • Great work. You have to appreciate people that do work that is soo badass.

  • Nice work, but what materials, and much of each do you need to make a dual 12" fiberglass box? Thank you

  • nice work!!!!

  • I have a qustion....

first you did a very good job

but i wan to know what are the

    materials you needed for fiberglass

  • thnx i realy needed

  • thanks

  • what kind of wood ie that?

  • 3/4 MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard)

  • when u screw ur sub into place, do u screw it into the fiberglass??

  • Yeah.

  • @hurtugood86 hey i am new to systems since i am 16 and have my first car but i want to put a ported box in it with a 12 in rockford fosgate punch and just wondering how big the sub encloser should be i been trying to figure it out but its just stressing me out so much i can't focus on my jobs

  • Comment for Adamsuave. The MDF rings that support the sub provide most of the meat to hold the sub in place. I recommend pre drilling the holes through the fiberglass larger than the screws or the fiberglass will crack when the screws go through.

  • Very Professional.

  • damn dude, ur good, most ppl just make the box an wrap it in carpet or sound damping mats...

  • that looks very good. im going to start mine soon

  • you cheated and used power tools lol

  • wow ,,, really nice,,, plz check my vid and tell me how much would it cost to get same box as yours to my subs... nice work again

  • MUY BUEN TRABAJO.

  • Gracias amigo

  • nice

  • in total how much did it costs for materials and how long did it take you?

  • what is the blue mat u streach over the wood and nail?

  • Polyester fleece

  • It's thick polyester that you can buy in fabric stores or walmart.

  • Nice video man!!!Thanks

  • Thanks, I should be posting another video soon.

  • whats the name of the material you use after the bondo to make smooth?

  • I think you're referring to Primer.

  • is so cool thanks but here a problem in the finish is to short.

  • ok thanks,i think the problem is because the resin was like jelly diferent than others

  • If the weather was cold then you will have to mix it with double the amount of hardener. Another problem could be that your resin is past the shelf life and it causes it to become thicker and takes longer to dry.

  • dude...I've watch this video a million times, and it never ceases to amaze me on how excellent your work is...outstanding

  • Thanks, I hope to post another one soon.

  • well done

  • u know what ur doin, but u need to sand the boxes better so it looks like smooth glass , kinda riply and cheap lookin

  • Thanks, I'll have you teach me how to sand "better."

  • WHAT MATERIAL DO U USE,, THANKS

  • what is the blue cloth that you use and where do you get it? (i have also seen it in green purple yellow i just dont know what it is exactly or where to get it) i like the look it gives with the final product

  • just simple cloth...

  • but what is it made of? (cotton, wool, polyester, some other synthetic material) or can i just go to wal-mart and pick up there cheapest material?

  • Must weigh a zillion pounds

  • nice box my man.. how many layers of fiberglass did u use for the box ?..

  • young dro - man in the trunk

good job man. looks good! i design and build boxes what is that tuned to?

  • good job man, what song is that playin>?

  • LoL, it's actually part of the mold. If you look at it again you will know what I mean. But I see why you got it twisted so it's all good. I would have a lot of returns from my picky customers if my paint job was no good.

  • hey nice box!! it looks awesome.

i need to find some one to make me a box for 2 13w7's

do you sell your boxes ??

  • Yeah, it's my business.

  • nice! what kind of material did you use to cover the box?

  • Thick polyester

  • oh alright thanks, i've done some fiberglassing before and i'm planning a BIG fiberglass install and i could never find a material that worked that well, i'll try that for this project

  • Look good! I want to learn to fiber glass.

  • So do you have a business do you make these, im trying to get one built

  • me too! good work!

  • Yeah; i wonder about the same thing as drewdrew1985. what is the blue fabric called and what can you use exept that when u are building a fiberglass speakersystem??? any ideas????????

  • Yeah I was waiting the grand finally.. Post the install. I'll be waiting to watch it. Good job. I'm Inpired to make one..

  • should have shown it in the end inside the car

  • tight as hell dude, love your work. i am getting into some fiberglass work, sub box, ported or not ported, i dunno which'll be louder, but my back bumper as well. nobody makes a body kit for my car and i m gunna just make 1 myself. very nice though man

  • Outstanding work. Join us at figerglassforum.

  • Not a bad looking set. But the drape method & wood hybrid style you're using might be costing you more time & material (and weight) than prefab fiber mesh and foam plugs would. You might find woven meshes less likely to crack from low frequency impact, & would be a good selling point to enthusiasts with high expectations.

  • You're right on some areas nonsoundflux, but I disagree with the foam plugs. I have tried different cloths and draping methods and I can truly say that this is one of the most convinient methods for me, atleast with ported boxes. I have better methods for sealed boxes though. Maybe I will post one soon. All my enclosures are build to specs and for excellent sound quality :)

  • Very cool, I'll be on the lookout

  • so it's just regular cloth u can buy at a wal-mart. cool. If U were gonna sell that box, what would you sell it for?

  • Normally a box like that goes for about $450 to $700 and that's because it is ported and tuned for JL Audio 10w7 specs. My price goes according to the size of the box and paint. Many installers don't build ported fiberglass boxes, it's too much work as you see so they usually have to charge a little extra for the labor.

  • u do some good work if u dont mind me asking what is that blue fabric called and where did u get it

  • at 00:59, what type of fabric is that? a shirt

    or fiberglass cloth?

  • what is the name of this song

  • Man in the trunk by Young Dro
