FF9 was the best FF... Until the last 2 discs :( ... It seems to be a FF thing where the game is major awesome and then bad at one part... FF7 for the first 2-4 hours, FF8 disc 4 and partly 3, the end of FF12, the end of FF4, the start of FF13, and the laat 2 discs of FF9 lol. Coincidence? I think not

I grew up from FFVII all the way to FFX, so I've experienced my fair share of final fantasy and obviously have my own opinions which you may not share. I must have spent so many hours collecting, trading and battling with my cards in-game. Way more time than I ever spent on trading cards in the real world.
A true FF fan will say 'All FF games are brilliant!'.There's nothing stopping people having their opinion on which is the best, but to actually put a FF game down in comparison to another makes me think if that person is really a true die hard FF fan.

Then enix came along and X-2 was made then 12 and sadly now 13 if they sequel another game im done with them. i dont give a shit what happend to cloud and tifa, nor do icare to see squall again or riona again. hence the name FINAL Fantasy. and by the time they Re-release FF7 ill be a man of 35, (im 25 now).
Square Enix is Squaresoft, they just changed their name but FFXIII was a slap in the face to FF fans every where in an attempt to bring in new idiots 2 a franchise with enough fans who already appreciate JRPG's.... they probably lost more fans then they gained with that dumb experiment, I've played sport video games that were less linear then FFXIII and agreed Mistwalkers great lost odyssey was the only decent JRPG I've played on the new generation of consoles true to that style

The battle system was archaic, the fights start off at snail-pace, and only a few of the characters have significant cause over the course of the game to want to continue with their ostensibly suicidal adventure. Still, great fun to clear xD

Fail again... Zidane is not a monkey. You'd have found out what he really is if you'd given the game a chance. Also, the graphics are a downgrade? Lolno! The graphics are better than FFVIII's... The game is supposed to return the series to its roots, so the characters have the Final Fantasy I - VI style.
So? God forbid Square does something different and doesn't make a generic muscle dude with a sword who has emotional problems (I'm looking at you Cloud and Squall). Also, you'll find out what he is in Disc 3. If you're going to get that bothered over a character's physical feature, you shouldn't be playing games... Period.
Squall was muscular. You could tell in the opening scene. As for Disc 3 of Final Fantasy IX, I would say that's about 18 or so hours in...? I'm not sure of the exact amount. It all depends on the player and how long they take to get through the areas.

Brilliant game, unique not just for being a great FF game but because even though it was similar combat system to ff7 and ff8 it still continue to amaze. played ff9 over like 5 times, more than iv replayed the other ff games, just has more... replay value.
This theme made you feel pumped to have an all out war, but made some of the bosses that much more intimidating. I.E The four elemental fiends, Soul cage, etc.
ff9 was the first ff i played ever...after 9 was when i played all the other ones and this one is still the one i remember the most! ironically ff7 is the one that tends to slip my mind...until i watch advent children and im like "oh yeahhhh"

Final Fantasy IX is up there with my all time favourite games ever since i completed it about a week ago. My only complaint is that at level 55+ you can just spam the storyline bosses with Attacks/Bahamut/Black magic without healing.

A bunch of innocents, or ignorant people trying to figure out a world (or two) that has a very, very dark resolve. kuja may have been too effeminate, but I found his personality to be chilling. His narcissistic and poetic evil was eerie. The way he controlled Brahne, and Garland controlled him and so on. It was just brilliant, the way it made up the ultimate theme. And Personally, I loved Quina. S/he was hilarious whenever I saw s/him/er.

One of the more 'Bossy' themes in the series-i'm not sure how else to describe it. It captures the feel I suppose.
I don't feel the series is going downhill. At least it's trying new things.

WHAT!!!??? theres acctully battles in ff9 bcuz i could not get in to it bcuz thjere was no battles for like the first 22 hours of the game

Fail again... Zidane is not a monkey. You'd have found out what he really is if you'd given the game a chance. Also, the graphics are a downgrade? Lolno! The graphics are better than FFVIII's... The game is supposed to return the series to its roots, so the characters have the Final Fantasy I - VI style.

So? God forbid Square does something different and doesn't make a generic muscle dude with a sword who has emotional problems (I'm looking at you Cloud and Squall). Also, you'll find out what he is in Disc 3. If you're going to get that bothered over a character's physical feature, you shouldn't be playing games... Period.

Squall was muscular. You could tell in the opening scene. As for Disc 3 of Final Fantasy IX, I would say that's about 18 or so hours in...? I'm not sure of the exact amount. It all depends on the player and how long they take to get through the areas.

Brilliant game, unique not just for being a great FF game but because even though it was similar combat system to ff7 and ff8 it still continue to amaze. played ff9 over like 5 times, more than iv replayed the other ff games, just has more... replay value.

This theme made you feel pumped to have an all out war, but made some of the bosses that much more intimidating. I.E The four elemental fiends, Soul cage, etc.

ff9 was the first ff i played ever...after 9 was when i played all the other ones and this one is still the one i remember the most! ironically ff7 is the one that tends to slip my mind...until i watch advent children and im like "oh yeahhhh"

Final Fantasy IX is up there with my all time favourite games ever since i completed it about a week ago. My only complaint is that at level 55+ you can just spam the storyline bosses with Attacks/Bahamut/Black magic without healing.

@BurntPoultry it was mostly successful though the series lamest villain and some questionable character choices hurt it (Quina and Eiko come to mind)
The first disc though was one of the best stretches of any FF game

@StewNWT Really? I felt the game had a charm, you know? A bunch of innocents, or ignorant people trying to figure out a world (or two) that has a very, very dark resolve. kuja may have been too effeminate, but I found his personality to be chilling. His narcissistic and poetic evil was eerie. The way he controlled Brahne, and Garland controlled him and so on. It was just brilliant, the way it made up the ultimate theme. And Personally, I loved Quina. S/he was hilarious whenever I saw s/him/er.

@Hunter03842 not like that, when they took a new turn with final fantasy 7 they created final fantasy 8 with the same technology setting, final fantasy 9 was meant to go back to the middle age/fantasy setting. besides turn based or atb works both fine. the latest final fantasy doens't even allow you to control the 2 other characters ...

@blkdragonp Maybe my post was a little confusing, but i never said that Square enix was good, at this moment i see that after Final Fantasy X, no decent follow up has been released. Final Fantasy XIII Versus will be the last that i will buy and test, if i don't like it i would declare that SE is dead. The only good game series they hold is kingdom hearts that they are fucking by spinoffs and star ocean that is actualy made by tri ace.

@blkdragonp so I totaly agree that SE sucks at this moment because Squaresoft still made games with the idea to give the player a good time, square enix is aiming to abuse the gamename and companyname. The only thing that can complete a good story with awsome characters is the music, and lately SE fails on all 3 points (well not music, but it isn't as awsome anymore) the characters are complete rubbish (I wanted to kill snow in ffXIII with his serah bullshit) and the story to linear

@yoekix lol XD and i never really knew squaresoft made 10 i thought se did but o well i dont know if they will ever make games as good as the old but i wil stil play to say i did :) plus maybe they wil fk up enough so that they make a good one :) like thier first one ff1 cause the company was going bankrupt so they made it and called it final fantasy as a last hope to keep them running and it was a huge secess ^_^ so maybe hopefully they will turn around and make one with heart and not greed :)
