    Kees,

I look forward very much to your upload of "I Only Have Eyes for You". It's a beautiful melody and with your gentle touch and sense of harmony I know it will be something special.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Sounds terrific. Been awhile since I've been doing anything on Tube, but glad to hear you playing such a beautiful and sensitive arrangement.

    Thanks, Hashi

  • @hachamacha ,

Thanks Hashi. What are you working on these days?

    allen

  • @carvetop01 allen - I had a couple of hand surgeries, and am in a fairly long recovery period, so I just this week uploaded my first stuff in 5 months. I'm about 40-50% of my former 'range-of-motion'/"ability to feel my fingerips"', but am coming along.

I did a recording/upload of Ain't Misbehavin, and also quickly learned and tossed out a great tune by Denny Zeitin which I need to rerecord named "Quiet Now".

    Thanks, Hashi

  • Loved the open strings Allen. You've bested yourself on this one. Pure romance coming through. Thumbs up.

  • @archtopbrownie ,

Thank you Lance. Some of these old melodies are timeless me thinks. Open strings are a guitar's secret weapon.

    Thanks again,

    allen

  • The Beautiful music, the beautiful performance!!! I listened and peered into music! Thank you!

  • @birlim1 ,

Спасибо мой друг. Эти старые мелодии никогда не стареют.

  • Hi brother, I'm really glad to receive a video yours...

As always, very subtle interpretation of the Music...when I listen to you , I feel so good...Great sound too , and very beautiful chords in this tune...

    Very good work mi Hermano...

    Your Brother...

    Stephane.

  • @stephanegiovannelli ,

    Hola Hermanito!

Tu es siempre muy alentador. Tengo suerte de tener a un amigo tan bueno.

    Abrazo,

    allen

  • Beautiful intro, great tone, the harmonization of the theme with nice chord inversions, original approach in spacing creating a very special atmosphere. The bass tones of this guitar sound very pronounced. Intro repeated with slight variation at the end. Simply very subtle and musical work, you're a mighty fine guitarist Allen, je bent een goede muziek vriend,Vic.

  • @Jazzguts ,

    Thank you Vic.

Altho this arrangement is in A, the 6th string is tuned down to D. That might account for the bass being a bit out front. I do think it makes the chords sound more rich in this case. It's a beautiful melody. Your version is simply outstanding.

    Cheers my friend,

    allen

  • Wondeful, Allen. Lots of open strings, the good thing on guitar. There are some pretty nice chord voicings! It´s a Romance, and we can hear that in your playing. Maybe when you recorded it was high concentration for you, I don´t know, but the result is romantic and tender. Very nice. (Nowadays the all say "TU" for the thumbs up instead of the stars....so let me say: TU ;-))

    See you, Frank

  • @LONGWINDING ,

Thank you Frank. I was in a bit of a melancholy(Melancholie ?) mood when I recorded this. Thank you for your kind remarks. Ihr wörter ermutigen mich.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Al That low D is awesome in the fullness that it gives the flow of Johnny's arrangements ..Huh?? Wow ... Fabulous job..Really cool !!

  • Thanks,

I use drop D quite often. It works great for tunes in Eb also.

    Allen

  • Beautiful sound.. Johnny was So cool to use that idea ..

  • WOW- NICE performance- sweet arrangement.

    I really enjoy this one!

    Dave

  • Thank you Dave.

    cheers,

    allen

  • For LOL, this is somewhat closer to Johnny Smith perfection than mine! Hardly different than the original. Great Job!

    Regards, Jack.

  • Thanks Jack,

It's such a great song. Check out Jazzguts version.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • great arrangement, and played to perfection! those chords go right through me!

  • Thank you!

THAT MEANS ALLOT COMING FROM A PLAYER LIKE YOU!

  • The perfect thing to calm me down after a hectic and loud evening, (planning the mixing/mastering of the tracks on our forthcoming record.) - An antidote. Proper quality....Thanks.

  • that wasd great my friend:)

    enjoyed

  • Thank you Jesse. It's a great melody. With a tune like this it's hard to go wrong.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Nice, i like to listen to your music.

  • Thanks man! I like your music also. I subscribed to your channel.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Real class, Allen.

Static's not really noticeable.. perhaps a slight over-recording distortion in one or 2 millisecond spots... sounds great on my livingroom Kef speakers, and here on the studio monitoring rig.

YT's compression does tend to lessen the quality, then again, I think you uploaded this in HD....

Anyway, what am I wittering on about!

Immaculate stuff, and most welcome. Thanks,

    B

  • Thanks Barry,

I have no clue how to record. I have no problems with a live audience but for some reason turning on the recorder turns off my brain.

    Cheers my friend,

    allen

  • With an unstressed sound like this you don't need to fret about with technology.

We all suffer the record button syndrome!

  • A stellar arrangement Allen! The close voicings at the intro and ending frame the audio picture, a gem.

    Carl

  • Soooooo perfect! What sonic serendipity to have you perfect the audio just when my sensitive ears are now under the merciless control of headphones -- the double edged sword of the greatest sound when things are done well and yet no means to camouflage this hiss 'n artifacts. (sounds like a law firm in Boca)

    Cheers, ~Terry

  • Hi Terry. Thank you. Rodgers & Hart composed some magnificent tunes. I think this is probably my favorite. "Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered" is a close second. I posted my humble attempt at that tune a month or so ago.

    Cheers,

    allen.
