  • Beautifull opera :)))

  • Yesterday I was at the theatre to see Phantom Of the Opera, it was beautiful. I cried at the end.

  • @spectra979: well, Meg wouldve inherited the title "Madame" since she is older, but it probably isn't Meg. I'm never clear about these things.

  • my gosh! thats got to be abnocsuios once you hear that opera woman singing so high after a while!

  • Brings back memories. My school band played this in a concert. AMAZING!

  • "Gentlemen" BANG. luv that part and i don't no y

  • This is a cool beginning...but somehow, to me, the play version still tops it. Not as good with the effects...but it's cool as hell to see that chandelier rising over your head.

  • Echoes! Echoes! Echoes! Pink Floyd!

  • Saw the Phantom of The Opera in Las Vegas. *3* AMAZING!! This part was my favorite.

  • Damn, we watched this in school and that part was like awesome when it turned all colerfull ;3

  • Alright, yes. As corny as this movie is, this did rock me a tad little bit.

  • is there a clip anywhere of Raoul's "every detail as she said" etc etc part?

  • we're watching this in chorus. my friend said "this is the best part" and i thought she was joking. xD

  • @RandomLeanne It's hilarious seeing in on stage; people jump at the "Gentlemen?" part when the orchestra comes in.

  • best bit of the movie

  • This opening gives me CHILLS.

I absolutely love it and it remains one of my favorite songs in PotO. :3 Thanks for putting this up, it was a BITCH to find!

  • @NicxanXIII

It gives me chills too! There used to be the beginning of POTO as it is on stage; but it's been taken down :(

  • @meginmd Really? I saw the play VERY recently (last time it was gonna be in Atlanta), and this was the opening, word for word; chandelier, too!

You're telling me they don't do that in New York? That sucks!

  • @NicxanXIII Oh, no. I completely messed up my comment. It should have read: There used to be footage of the opening as it is on stage on Youtube (Someone snuck a video cam in to one of the shows), but it got taken down.

  • @NicxanXIII yeah i saw it today and it was the exact same opening as this

  • I love when they pull the cover off the chandiler and the overture starts

  • i love when they raise the chandelier and the music plays as time rewinds...so epic

  • fantastic!!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just went to the play and its awsome! this is my favorite part!

  • the beginning of this film is over 9000

  • WAT??? 9000 WAT?

  • begging it the best frikin part..everytime i watch it i blast the volume just for that song when there raising the chandelere

  • This song is always stuck in my head.

  • 2004

  • ok thnx very much. i wanna buy it so bad. i saw it on stage for the first time and it was sick! the music is awesome. sorta chilling

  • the guy in the weel chair is Roul. I know this because we do this in music and my music teacher knows everything about this movie

  • LOVE IT! I don't own the movie, and I REALLY want to watch it right now, so this will have to suffice...

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for this scene!

The music is just so awesome!

  • whos the guy in the chair

  • raoul {or however you spell it} its jsut when hes really old

  • then who is the old lady? I really want to know...

  • uhmm.. madam jaree? idk how to spell

  • I think it's Giry

  • no it was christines old friend. the blonde one i forget her name lol

  • @Roxygal123 it's Madame Giry.. i read the book, so i know... yes, i'm a nerd... lol..

  • @Roxygal123 Cherrie :)

  • @Roxygal123 Madame Giry and Meg look so alike. I'm betting it's Meg because since Raoul is now really old, maybe Madame Giry already died of old age...

And thanks for uploading this. The music is SO epic!

  • @ilove2fishsalmon good idea, but no... The auctioner person actualy called her by her name "Madame Giry" when they were selling the music box. So, it would not have been Meg.

  • @Roxygal123

    It's spelled Giry

  • @mickeymouse14 - The Compte 'de Chenay - hope that I spelled it ight - he and Christine married - she died and he came back for memories

  • @mickeymouse14 Rauol

  • hhaa.. i got quite obsessed for a while xD

  • Quite a stunning start to a movie really isnt it! i tried watching the movie, but gave up, perhaps i should try it again!

  • you should! lol. i love the movie so mcuh

  • i love this scene, but the undescribable howling at the end puts me off a bit

  • oh I love this scene!

It's one of the most brilliant scene transitions I've ever seen!
