  • tamagoyaki? 0.o Was that a korean dish?

  • @joannetnq it's a Japanese dish, almost the same as the gyeranmali except it's softer but more complicated to make.

  • Maangchi is kind of like my "Korean mommy" :D i get to learn tons of korean dishes thanks to her ! <3

  • @sakura0aya Seconded ^-^

  • 'I can't eat 9 eggs in a day'

    I accept that challenge :D

  • @pandaeatsbears I can very easily eat 9 eggs in one day, but it would be 8 egg whites and 1 whole egg.

  • That rolled egg dish looks so good!

  • super thank you i love all things korean but have never visited so thank you showing us some of the dishes

  • As a college student I always need something quick and easy to make. I just made this and it's delicious! Thank you!~

  • @WingedParamour great great!

  • You are like the cutest thing ever.

  • I just want to hug you!

  • I just tried making gye gran jjim today - it turned out great!

I used to make chinese steamed egg but it was so fussy having to steam it. This microwaved version is much easier. I will definitely be making it a lot in the future. Thanks Maangchi! :)

  • Maangchi! Thank you soo much!! today I was in a bad case of hunger and made a modified version of the second dish you made, I used white onion, a can of salmon, noodles, and just two eggs (that was what I had at the moment) and it turned out so great! It's awesome! or I was just very hungy! Anyway, thank you for saving my day :)

  • @jintianxiayue yes, you can. Use chicken broth, then it will be more delicious.

  • is it ok if i just put soy sauce and some herbs for my steamed eggs?

  • i just made the gye ram jjim (im actually atm eating it, lol) and maangchi, for teaching me this superawesome way too cook my eggs: thanks a bunch!! i always hated the fact that if i wanted to eat eggs i would have to go through all the trouble of heating the pan and then frying it (which i dont like at all) and after that i would have like a million objects to clean. but with this, i only have the bowl and the spoon, plus it takes only half the time :)

  • @sakuramankai94 awesome! cooking is easy, eh? lol

  • i always want to learn how to make eggs roll

    thanks

    ^_^

  • the fact that the cooking method for the 2nd and 3rd recipes is a microwave can put some people off. However, this is probably one of my favorite korean food. So, I strongly recommend ya'll to try it.

  • i can't wait to make that rolled egg for my daughter... =)

  • I will make the rolled omelette to company my kimchi for dinner! :D

  • @theklewerz Good luck with making delicious gyeranmari (rolled omelette)!

  • @Maangchi @Maangchi I just made it gyeranmari and I'm now eating it XD I put a little bit of sesame oil and vegetable oil on the pan and the sesame oil. It made it better for me :D And I just love the sweetness of the onion in this. Thanks Maangchi!

  • @theklewerz It sounds very tasty! yummy!

  • Maangchi!! I absolutely love your videos, but this is the first time I've seen you use a microwave... I am disappointed in you my dear lady. tsk tsk.

  • @dbs84 Check out the recipe on my website. You can use a steamer.

  • @dbs84 whats wrong with a microwavee

  • @lebihbaikbali adding carrot sounds great to me!

  • hi maangchi...this is very simple, i have done it and its perfect.........

  • you are just amazing

  • can i do it without sesame seeds?or can it be replace by something else?

  • I love your videos! All of these dishes look very tasty! I can't wait to try them all out!

  • Hi Maangchi,

I made both the rolled eggs and the steamed eggs, Is there a way to cook the steam eggs so that the middle of the bowl is also cook? Usually I have problem with the egg in the middle of the bowl not cooked like the outer rim of the bowl, is there a way to solve that?

  • @NuCuoiBuon yes, stir the egg mixture with a spoon and cook it again for a few more minutes.

  • the second dish is the dish I saw in Dae Jang Geum lol the part where the princess suddenly stop eating.

  • xD My Mom always uses your recipes no wonder its so tasty!

  • Just a question out of curiosity, I have a rice cooker if I added Sesame oil to the rice before it cooks are their any spices that I could add to it so that it can balance out the strong flavor of Sesame?

  • you cook the best

    very nice

    thank you

  • i just made the rolled egg for the first time! i put seaweed on top before rolling it, natural sodium content ^_^ yummy!! plus i love onions!

  • the second one is soooooooo easy :O and i was sad when you had salted fish (which I don't have) but when you showed fish sauce i was like hallelujah since i always have that :D

  • @sunshineeeast lol hallelujah!

  • you should be a food network star :)) i love food network but they dont'have any asian cooks i think :P

  • The first thing looks so good I wish I could cook but sadly im not alowed and my mom would never cook it.

  • you are splendid, thnx so much for sharing.

  • My favorite was the second because it can be made in a microwave.

  • am SOLD!!! me <3 eggs!!! 5 stars 555555!!!!

  • the traditional way of making the last two dishes is steaming it, though i gues microwaving does the job.

in a pot put a very smal layer of water, just put the porcelain dish in and cover.

cook for 15 minutes and it's done!

microwaving is easier but i prefer this way.

  • Oh, she is such a sweet funny lady!!! Now I really need to try the eggs....

  • believe it or not , i saw ur videoabout 2 months ago. Today i have been looking for 4/5 m. like ur easy tips.

  • @PinkJuneBabe thx a lot! let me know hot your egg side dish turns out.

  • i like the cracking sounds when you open the eggs :D

  • maangchi, is it okay if i used green onions for the rolled omelette instead? I'm not a huge fan of white onions on my eggs.

  • @CamuiVanilla yes, use chopped green onions then.

  • woooooow i enjoyed watching this, so much

this is better than a movie

i was so fascinated by the gyeran mari and i am SO going to try that sometime!

but my moms frying pan is very small 0__0 i need some proper equipment before i start, i want it to be as perfect as yours<3

  • is the gye ran mal yee kinda like tamagoyaki??

  • Is there a Japanese version of something similar to this? Also, is there a different method of cooking those last two dishes without a microwave? I cant imagine how to steam liquid egg without making a giant mess :-\

  • @mushugai check the written recipe on my website. This is one of the easiest recipes that I have posted. Try it out and let me know the result.

  • @Maangchi Oh! Thanks :) I will give that a try and report back with my findings. *^_^*

  • @mushugai try using a steamer

  • @mushugai Yes there is a japanese version of the rolled omelette, it's called tamagoyaki :D

  • @mushugai there is a japanese dish similar its called tamago or something like that. Asian foods will have their similarities naturally due to neighbouring influences. tamago i found was much more sweeter though and usually served relatively cold.

  • @jualkyn tamagoyaki is so good but i add dashi so i get a salty but i also love sweet teheheh :]

  • very cute way of explaining! :-)

the three crabs 3tsp is fine

the squid one do about 2 tsp and maybe a bit more (it's saltier than the crab one)

    Thanks Maanchi!

  • if you add some chopped carrot and green onion into the 1st side dish(rolled friend egg), looks better, tastes better! =)

that's how my mom cooks it.

when u fail to roll it, don't worry, free style! =)

however, the more rolled, the better i think...

  • Great job! Looks awesome. Unfortunately, I absolutely detest eggs. I cant stand the texture/taste, I have no idea why... just like mashed potatos, but ( nowadays ), I absolutely love them. ( with gravy lol ) I will try your recipes here, maybe they can change my mind? Keep on cooking, and keep up the good work!

  • Its been a long time that I was looking on how to make this type of recipe and love it.. Thank you and more power!!!
