I just tried making gye gran jjim today - it turned out great!
I used to make chinese steamed egg but it was so fussy having to steam it. This microwaved version is much easier. I will definitely be making it a lot in the future. Thanks Maangchi! :)
Maangchi! Thank you soo much!! today I was in a bad case of hunger and made a modified version of the second dish you made, I used white onion, a can of salmon, noodles, and just two eggs (that was what I had at the moment) and it turned out so great! It's awesome! or I was just very hungy! Anyway, thank you for saving my day :)
How do You pick the background songs You use in Your videos? I notice that a few have been reggae songs and some ska...I think that's rad...great vids,,
i just made the gye ram jjim (im actually atm eating it, lol) and maangchi, for teaching me this superawesome way too cook my eggs: thanks a bunch!! i always hated the fact that if i wanted to eat eggs i would have to go through all the trouble of heating the pan and then frying it (which i dont like at all) and after that i would have like a million objects to clean. but with this, i only have the bowl and the spoon, plus it takes only half the time :)
the fact that the cooking method for the 2nd and 3rd recipes is a microwave can put some people off. However, this is probably one of my favorite korean food. So, I strongly recommend ya'll to try it.
@Maangchi@Maangchi I just made it gyeranmari and I'm now eating it XD I put a little bit of sesame oil and vegetable oil on the pan and the sesame oil. It made it better for me :D And I just love the sweetness of the onion in this. Thanks Maangchi!
I made both the rolled eggs and the steamed eggs, Is there a way to cook the steam eggs so that the middle of the bowl is also cook? Usually I have problem with the egg in the middle of the bowl not cooked like the outer rim of the bowl, is there a way to solve that?
Just a question out of curiosity, I have a rice cooker if I added Sesame oil to the rice before it cooks are their any spices that I could add to it so that it can balance out the strong flavor of Sesame?
the second one is soooooooo easy :O and i was sad when you had salted fish (which I don't have) but when you showed fish sauce i was like hallelujah since i always have that :D
LoL I need to read directions better. I was wondering why my rolled omlettes were so puny looking, I didn't extend them!! Thanks again for the recipe, I will try again tomorrow!
Absolutely brilliant, you make us want to be there with you, tasting all this wonderful food. I feel proud to have made your acquaintance. Seligor aka diddily
Is there a Japanese version of something similar to this? Also, is there a different method of cooking those last two dishes without a microwave? I cant imagine how to steam liquid egg without making a giant mess :-\
@mushugai there is a japanese dish similar its called tamago or something like that. Asian foods will have their similarities naturally due to neighbouring influences. tamago i found was much more sweeter though and usually served relatively cold.
i live at canada...i am taiwanese...but here i am in Korean town...there is alot the dish i want to know how to make and you just save my day....(I love to cook alot) thank you vary much for the videos you are great.............

the traditional way of making the last two dishes is steaming it, though i gues microwaving does the job.
in a pot put a very smal layer of water, just put the porcelain dish in and cover.
cook for 15 minutes and it's done!
microwaving is easier but i prefer this way.
