  • hahaha this is my grandfather lol

  • This video is always a chilling reminder to me. That was the day Heerensperger asked my dad, George Henley, if he wanted another ride? My dad gave Dave that famous smile and half-heartedly declined. We took up our spot on the Columbia and watch John blow over right in front of us. It was the worst blow over I had ever personally witnessed. We were so relieved to hear John survived the crash though seriously injured and thankful it wasn't my dad in the cockpit of that boat.

  • My dad made a 1/8th scale replica of this boat. It did almost the same thing as this movie shows atleast once or twice. Also he was going about 55MPH with this boat which is about 440MPH full scale.

  • My brother was on the rescue crew that pulled Jon Walters out of the wreck.

  • @BigKwell That's amazing. John is my Uncle, so I guess I just wanted to say thanks!

  • Considering those were open cab over designs, he's very luck to be alive. Thanks for posting this video clip.

  • Me and My family also witnessed that flip. It was awesome as well as scary. Is there any great hydroplane coverages you don't have my family may provide for you that you DON'T have? Thanks for the memories! Me and my Brother also used to do Pit Tours here (Tri-Cities), as well as our parents brought us up in this GREAT SPORT. If I may ask, Where are you from?

  • Tri-Cities, WA.

  • @carrieberry72

I am from Tri-Cities, but currently living in the Seattle area.
