when i follow your first step and flash speedmod using odin i get stuck on start up... it no longer says samsung galaxy s4g but instead it says galaxy s sgh i897.... i tried flashing it over a second time and same thing happens.. what should i do now...

Hi...do i needs to root the phone first? Or i can do it without...so rooted first before using odin or clockrecovery flash? please advice..i fry the software once without rooted...

@dungpham602 you don't need to root the phone because the kernal is installed with the ODIN.. if it doesnt work- root your phone to T959UVKA7 and then it will be well.

i have a rooted vibrant with 2.2 firmware and UVKA6 baseband. will this process work for me??

@accordv618 you need T959UVKA7 baseband (it will be the best). but UVKA6 should work too- if not - root it to T959UVKA7.

because when i put the speedmod kernel in PDA a puts start not works

@willy1990cora it absolutely should work you! (i was flashed it from 2.2) put the speed mod kernal at the PDA and click start.

i also gave you in the description a download to "Gapps"- simply copy it into the phone folder on mass storage and install it from the recovery just like you installed the mod (install zip from SD card/choose zip from SD card).

the Gapps are the whole google apps (android market , Gmail , facebook -and a lot more..) .
