When I was a kid my older brothers did lots of stop and go with our Lego's. And we got to take part in some live action stuff. One of them now works in special effects.
I have this I bought an ex-rental from a video shop way way back, in Australia and New Zealand it's called "SPFX The Making of The Empire Strikes Back" and was officially released on vhs for rental from fox - thanks for sharing it.
wtf?? try to do FX with a computer. you think it's clapping and the film is done?? there is people working hours also. i go and watch avatar and i enjoy it and know the effort it has taken
@grgharrison9 Lol, it's not faster to do cgi, just look at today's latest film revolution, avatar. It took 4 years to make the movie, and all the star wars prequels took 3 years each
No it would not be cheaper. Those techniques have been mostly dumped because of there high expense and time consuming ways. Listen folks, I saw the originals in the theater and they are wonderful works of art, but just because they are done the old way doesn't make it superior. Movies do suck for the most today, but I do love some of the new techniques and innovations.
imagine combinnig real miniatures with all kind of modern enhancements! It would look totally awesome, and probably still less expensive than computer generated
@BuddhaMaster84 I agree, but the time involved would either require more people involved or simply draw out the production time. Todays industry thinks more of quickly making money off something rather than making it better
@RotoPlasmX well, like for example that when you see the mouse bot running through the corridors, and then Chewie growls at it ant then it like runs away and hides toward the right. But in the actual movie it runs and hides to the left. Does that help you understand a bit?

@BigDickMcGirk
The new Star Wars though had blue screen in every shot.
The older ones were better, hands down.

why are the scenes seen in star wars shown the other way instead of how it was in the movie?

@Xwingpilot what exactly are you asking? "the other way"? huh???

this is so much impressive than Lucas playing around with his MAC program. I'm younger fan too. and I'm still in awe at the walkers scene.
