  • And the irony is that most Americans (most people in general in fact) have never even heard of the US terrorist atrocities which have killed infinitely more people.

  • There are more comments saying "lighten up" than comments from people who are actually offended...

  • Red Bar Radio.net

  • First thing I think of when I hear "911" is the Porsche...

  • 9 11 for nine one one, so you better not forget your phone number indeed, chief.

  • @MrBeefaroo MY BIRTHDAY BITCH!!

  • I've heard far worse jokes about 9/11 from american comedians, its not even a joke about the atrocity. Some people need to chill and get off the offended train.

  • Some of you people need to lighten up. There are jokes about virtually everything thats happened in the world. Look at how many jokes there are about wars and the ira and all that stuff. Its called comedy. Lighten up.

  • It's not about the World Trade Center, it's about words and the fun things you can do with them. No one really has the right to tell someone not to be offended by something, but honestly, if you're touchy about anything, comedians like Jimmy Carr aren't going to be for you. There's plenty of other stuff to watch.

  • @1vnman ooooo! now that's racism!

  • He didn't make fun of 9/11 in any way. He only said that it was the phone number, which is true. He didn't make fun of the victims or what happened. Plus Jimmy is not a idiot, if you actually watched his comedy, you should know his the kind who does simple word play jokes. And the end of the day it's a joke.

  • What does he say? It sounds like he said "I hope shou fucking hoe that's your phone number"...

  • This is funny ! get over it yanks!

  • But it´s a funny joke... really funny. I loved it

  • Funny stuff. Lighten up yanks.

  • 9/11 was bad

  • Comment removed

  • @1vnman Go fuck yourself. September 11 attacks death count = 2996. Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki death count = 150,000 - 246000. The biggest difference = the Japanese aren't so butthurt about people making jokes.

  • @MrBeefaroo

the yanks put the month before the date, we`d call it 11/9.

  • @MrBeefaroo lol....brilliant!

  • Win.

  • @MrBeefaroo LOL ;D

  • @MrBeefaroo In America the first number is the month and the second number is the day...

  • @Antonypacman It's called a joke fucktard...

  • This guy is bloody hilarious! :P

  • can anyone tell me what did he say? my natural language is spanish and i have a very big problem with the brittish accent.

  • @cerattos209 "I saw the Chief of the new york city Police on the news." "He said, we will never forget 9/11." "I thought I should fucking hope not! It's your phone number!"

    There you go Buddy.

  • @raluc390 thanks man! anyway i was expecting something better haha

  • @cerattos209

I dont speak much spanish but I think it goes like this:

"Yo visto el jefe de policia on la tele el dice Nunca olvidamos 9/11."

" !Joder no es possible, es tu numero de telefono!"

  • @ZelatorUK haha i have no problem to understand it if it's written. the english pronunciation is my big problem. somebody has already translated what carr said in english. thanks anyway :)

  • LOL +1

  • 9/11 is hilarious because it pisses off Americans so easily when you joke about it

  • @BK181294

wouldnt you be to if something that bad happened in your country you wouldnt take it well either lad no one would

  • @krnc17 bad things have happened in my country, but like any rational person I get over it if I ever cared to begin with

  • thats offensive but hilarious

  • @fuzylittlebastard How is it offensive? He's talking about numbers.

  • @FRr3AkOnALEaSh uhhh nvm

  • @1vnman what?

  • @1vnman pathetic humourless cunt

  • @1vnman Did you forget your home number too?

  • Good joke. People who take it beyond that need to fuck off and get a life.

  • Awesome! We are so tired of hearing about it... 9/11 this, 9/11 that... You reap what you saw, move on...

  • here's the thing guys, Jimmy Carr did not mock anyone in 911, he commented on something a policeman said. WHAT IS OFFENSIVE ABOUT THAT? people insult other people all the time and no one ever comments on that video.

  • Fucking Cans

  • @QWolfie Yeah, I never find the can opener when I need one.

  • @samikalastaja fly a model aeroplane into it and see if it opens?

  • Oh its a fucking joke. Not even a very good one.

  • 9/11 1973

  • @Kooinan 9/11 is the USA Police number and the 9/11 twin towers.

  • That's actually so clever

  • japan can't hear the butthurt americans because they mutated after hiroshima and nagasaki

  • @TheSerialHex I didnt get that joke.

  • @kooinan The person providing the previous explanation didn't do a very good job of it. In the United States - To reach emergency services, such as the police - you dial '911'. "9/11" refers to the date, September 11, when the twin towers were destroyed by the US government in order to perpetuate a war for dwindling fossil fuels. Erm, I mean - terrorists did it.

  • @johnsstime You do know that the person your replying to was replying to someone else who tried to make a joke dont you ;)

  • @johnsstime

I realise you were replying to someone elses comment but.

Its a joke, the ambigious wrodplay is what makes it funny.

you can say 'nine, eleven' and mean either.

Obviously the policeman was reffering the the event not the number, but but his comic observation was on the blantantly hillarious consequences of those particular words in that order.

Besides there is just as much chance that 911 was planned by Aliens to provent us from building so high that we can see UFOs.

  • @TheSerialHex That about as funny as your mother's failed attempt to claw your foul-smelling embryo from her womb with a wire coathanger.

  • @50033836 very, very funny indeed

  • The joke is funny because it swerves into a different, more lighthearted, direction. He started off on a risky subject and ended with an innocent play on words. There have been jokes made by others that were actually disrespectful, so why made a big deal out of this?

  • Word play. Get over it...

  • I had to google the beginning of the joke to understand the punchline, that sounded to me like "Watch your fucking home thats your phone number".

For anyone that has trouble understanding Carr: "I sure fucking hope not, it's your phone number" Nice joke, but I wouldn't be suprised if this didn't get media attention in a huge shitstorm.

  • @diiebane it wont , we have a sense of humor in Britain

  • @xx2n23 yes it is funny

  • looooooooooooooooooooool too funny

  • That was so funny I couldn't laugh, instead I grinned like a madman and had some crazy leg spasm. Jimmy is quality.

  • There is no such thing as 'too soon', time is an illusion.

  • @khekhem lunch time doubly so.

  • Yeah...i feel sad for the people in 9/11 but i suppose if one of my family or friends were in 9/11 then it would have hit me more.

  • not one of his better jokes - falls a bit flat

  • You should joke about everything, from racism to sexism. Everything bad in the world should be joked about. Because when you make a joke about it and people laugh, it goes away. The pain goes away. Joking about everything bad is a way to live with how horrible this world really is. If you get offended by comedy then dont watch it.

  • Jimmy Carr = WIN.

  • In a world full of apathy w.r.t. war, famine, disease, cruelty, and injustice, something that can motivate and antagonise, is a simple joke??

Learn to laugh at the most upsetting things in your life. It is liberating!

Then you can get on with seeing things for what they are, and get upset at what matters.

  • Pretty funny, what do you guys think? Oh right... :P

  • I like to argue on the internet because my own life is so insignificant.

  • @xx2n23 Oh, but it is. Get off your high-horse you self-righteous piece of shit. This is why American comedy is so shit because you can't say anything without someone getting offended. You should look at the civilian death toll as a result of the Afghan and Iraq war before you start bitching about 9/11 victims. Seriously, no one fucking cares. Yes, it was a tragedy. Does it mean we can't make jokes? NO. We make jokes about Diana for crying out loud.

  • Comment removed

  • @123jsbach I can in this context because we're talking about 'taboo' subjects.

  • @oMeGaSoLjaX I wasn't defending Diana. I am anti-royalist. They are a waste of tax payers money. I was meaning that she is not as important as other issues. Sorry for any confusion.

  • @123jsbach I see. Tbh, I was a fan of Diana because of her views and what she was passionate in. She was also quite a bit different to the other royals of recent years, which I thought was refreshing. Whilst I'm proud to be English, I do think the Royal family has lost its touch. I'm apathetic towards them now but the only thing that will never change, is that I'm glad we still have them. Put it this way - I dislike having to fund people who aren't prepared to work more than funding the royals.

  • @oMeGaSoLjaX Diana at least opposed convention to some degree and that I believe was her down fall in terms of support from the monarchy, and so for that she deserves respect. I wonder how much money is filtered into the dss from tax payers money in comparison to how much the monarchy receive? It would be interesting to know.

  • The only way a joke is offensive is when it's not a joke, but meant as a serious insult.

  • @xx2n23 If you're over 15, kill yourself.

  • @xx2n23 shut the fuck up slag

  • @xx2n23 Is he directly mocking anyone that died? No. There is no subject that is immune to comedy - even, and especially, tragedy. The ability to laugh in the face of adversity is part of what makes us human. And my point was, in the whole context of human suffering e.g. African famine, tsunamis, war etc - 9/11 is small by comparison. I think its far more offensive when Americans are allowed to air the view that the Japanese Tsunami (16,000 deaths by the way = 9/11 x 5) was God punishing Japan.

  • @xx2n23 3000 people died on 9/11. Do you know how many died because of american military intervention in the past 50 years. Its like a 9/11 every week for the past 50 years. Get over your fucking selves

  • @MrSyrett 3000 people died on 9/11, know how many people die daily? 150,000

  • @MrSyrett Its 9/11 times 10000 *America FUCK YEAH!*

  • @MrSyrett 9/11 was the american government

  • @fuckalluhoes91 No, it wasn't. America gained absolutely nothing by doing 9/11. They have wasted trillions of dollars on fighting terrorism and have driven themselves into debt.

There is evidence of Bin Laden far before 9/11. The US used him as well as the Taliban to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan and then turned on them. That's why Bin Laden hated the US - because it betrayed and used them. That's why 9/11 happened.

  • @lyon1535 trust me it was the american government the planes could of been controlled from the ground but werent the buildings could take a plane hit like that but didnt the building wouldnt of fallen like that like they were controlled demollition jobs america knocked it down so that they could blame iraq and the american people would cry out for war same as what hitler done with the reichstag everyone knows it was for the oil theres evidence of bin ladin before 9/11 and usa paying his wage

  • @fuckalluhoes91 . , ever used these before? , . have you , . ever , . used , . these , . besore?

  • @arwestromen never used anything besore in my life

  • @fuckalluhoes91 The building fell like that because of tension at the bottom created by heat produced by the jet crash. This weakened the infrastructure, which led to the building falling down.

Since you suppose a controlled demolition is also an option, how do you think they got away with putting the bombs in? There were over 15,000 people in the building a day. They would not be able to arm a building with explosives with that many people in the building.

  • @lyon1535 the melted shit at the bottom of the building was burning something like 500 degrees over the heat of a jet engine so it werent that what so ever plus the building was built to take plane hits it was a controlled explosion

  • @fuckalluhoes91 Hahaha good one.

    Oh wait, you're being serious.

  • @ryanthesound zeitgeist have a look for urself new world orders coming mate and its ignorance like urs which shows there winning

  • @fuckalluhoes91 You're wrong on both counts. If you read my response, you would have seen it was impossible for them to get away with planting bombs in the building.

Also, I have never heard of a building "built to take plane hits".

You seem to be past listening to this viewpoint, so I don't think I'll bother arguing with you over the science and logic of 9/11.

  • @lyon1535 what u think the government couldnt blow up a building if they wanted?

  • @fuckalluhoes91 No, not in a building which has tens of thousands of people in it every single day. They wouldn't be able to get away with planting bombs in a building where it would be impossible not to be seen.

  • @lyon1535 course they fucking could u idiot. just out of interest what country u from?

  • @fuckalluhoes91 I'm not interested in debating someone who can't logically support their viewpoint and has to resort to insulting their opponent.

Come back when you have a substantive argument.

  • @lyon1535 ooo dont cry, ive got loads of shit that indicates 9/11 was an inside job i could go on for hours. what country do u come from?

  • @fuckalluhoes91 I agree completely with lyon1535. You're insane. I mean, what's the point in blowing the towers up?

  • @MyFaceBurns so they could get the american public to cry for war giving them a reason to take over iraq same as what hitler done burning down the reichstag. how comes three buildings were hit and collapsed all in quick succession without any attempt of defence from bush? because he knew exactly what was going to happen.

  • @fuckalluhoes91 Because they were hit in quick succession, perhaps?

  • @MyFaceBurns yes but y werent there no defence and the building was built to take a plane hit all that should of happened was the collapse of the floors not its structure, the structure should of still stood high as it was but it didnt because the structures metal was cut diagonally like a controlled demolition.

  • @fuckalluhoes91 words after words without any meaningful way to distinguish the sentences and paragraphs just to create a big wall of text understood only for you well good job you are doing there and remember to use a lot of small words such as so on and you and me in order to confuse the reader and lose the whole point of your writing eventually in the brilliant maze you created while they will be in agony while wondering why the fuck am I still reading this it doesn't make any sense and cut t

  • @samikalastaja u turd, theres two small words r u confused. what a load of wank

  • @fuckalluhoes91 You almost managed to make a sentence here. Keep up the good work.

  • @samikalastaja fuck off u cunt

  • @fuckalluhoes91 Who taught you how to use a computer? Or are you just head-butting the keyboard to make the pretty lights flash?

  • @1990Adamd pretty much

  • i can see why people are offended but i think it's a very clever joke

  • There's only two kinds of jokes, funny ones, and not funny ones. Subject doesn't matter.

  • @xx2n23 Jokes are funny if they are funny. There is no such thing as a joke too tasteless to be funny. A joke can be tasteless and unfunny in which case only young men and boys will laugh at it but if it is funny enough the humour carries you through. Jimmy Carr can make jokes about anything, but if they don't work he stops telling them. This joke is extra funny precisely because people can anticipate the stuck up comments of people like you. You make this joke funnier.

  • Laughing in the face of adversity is a British thing, American viewers, with respect, may not fully understand this. Hitler did not understand the strength this brings, and neither do current madmen with bombs.

  • @AlfredTupper Well said. It's also why British comedy is the finest around.

  • 9/11 is funny you penis.

Also what show is this from? I cant recall

  • i heard that a of the family member of a 911 victim laughed at this

  • @AGJM233 i heard that the a of grammar is important

  • @xx2n23 haha yes it is, you're just too sensitive.

  • not offensive or anything, but this is just kind of dumb.

  • World class

  • Brilliant!!!

  • why did noone laugh

  • @TheRoyleFamilyFan96 sweetie, because the video cut off at the instant he finished the joke.

  • This is why i love Jimmy Carr. Simple, yet beautiful.

  • Genius.

  • like jimmy said you dont know how offensive the joke is when you see how much the people react!

  • haha

  • That was...hilarious!

  • Oh for heaven's sake, folks, he KNOWS it was a horrible event in world history. Is he making it over the graves of those lost in the attack? No. He's making it after the fact and, if you notice, he's not taking the piss out of those people, he's poking fun at the fact that people feel the need to KEEP talking about how horrible it was. We know it was. My cousin was supposed to be there that day, I know I could have lost him. Didn't stop me laughing at this. It's just a joke. Chill.

  • haha

  • @jerryhello100 fcuk you ya faggot

  • @QofLife69 Whatever. I'm just saying it was a pretty tramatic thing. I still like Jimmy and everything. But it isn't the greatest joke. Ya know, thousands of people died.

  • @jerryhello100 You're right, it's not the greatest joke in those terms. In that respect, there's better material to be derived from the holocaust.

  • yeah yeah, whatever

  • @jerryhello100 It's fine to make jokes about massacres and wars that are a few centuries or decades in the past without anyone complaining. Jokes will always end up boring some people and then piss off a few prissy twats whose arbitrary lines of political correctness have been crossed.

Jimmy did not even make a joke about the deaths. If he had made an impression of someone being crushed by debris on a funeral of a 9/11 victim I would say that he went too far, but this is hardly offensive.

  • @obermegalutschoar Okay, yeah, I guess you're right. You've changed my mind. Congratulations!

  • @andrewfink1 You have absolutely no right to put that final line in your comment, I have had enough of people forcing religion down the throats of those who don't believe it (either being athiest like me or holding different religious beliefs), if you want to be Christian that's fine by me just talk about how 'Jesus saves' with other people who believe that, because, to be honest, I've had quite enough of it.

  • @TheWoodgerC well actually i was crossfaded and trolling sooooo.......

  • @andrewfink1 Trolling or no your comment just happened to be the straw that broke the camel's back.

  • @TheWoodgerC bzzzzhhh yes but you should probably not say it to someone on the internet cause you know it dosent do no good

  • @andrewfink1 If there is even the smallest chance that it will stop even one person preaching with an extremely superior air, just because they believe in something that I think is completely made up then I would say that is an enormous amount of good done, because it isn't religion that causes violence it is intolorence and people attempting to force it on others that have no desire to believe against evidence. It also annoys me because I don't like people spreading falsehoods.

  • @TheWoodgerC Yeah sure...but generally these people are hopeless soo i don't even try it hurts the brain the way they think. The ones from the deep south(if you'r american) are horrible..they way they think is just annoying... The imams are also really bad when i comes to spreading BS i saw a video where an imam is telling his flock that scientists all around the world have compleatley rejected evolution...i'm just saying the fundies are pretty hopeless

  • @obermegalutschoar Yes, the joke is in regards to the police, not the 9/11 victims.

  • @jerryhello100 That's not what the joke was about tho.

  • @jerryhello100 And I hope you feel the same anger when some american or british comic makes a 'cheeky joke' about bombing Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam...etc.
