  • GREAT CARTOON!!

  • Omg I love how the cat is just sitting there and he turns around looking all evil lmaooo gets me every time !

  • Well, what's the matter can't you talk, I guess the cat got your tongue !!

  • a great classic

  • mf doom

  • i cracked up at all the slang in this cartoon, thanks for posting amigo

  • In Symphony In Slang, one familiar quote which rings a bell to my mother. "When I open my mouth and put my foot in it." This anger her at me. Whenever I say things I not suppose to say when I get angry myself when things don't turn out good. But it's a good cartoon to watch everything slang.

  • this is my fav after who killed who

  • Fred "Tex" Avery's Symphony in Slang is my all-time favorite animation short!

While so many others, (if not all) call it too goofy, weird or craziest piece of animation, put together! [The word "together" can be spelled in 3 consecutive words! TO+GET+HER = TOGETHER]! For, extra humor 36x24x36 = 31,104. I have memorized this phrase,. since 1976, atleast!

PS: There atleast 80 slang term said in the 6:43 (403 seconds) averaging a slang term for each 5 seconds!

  • How many others, have you "GAVE THE SLIP"?

  • Animation Genius,Tex Avery directed this cartoon & Rich Hogan wrote this classic short! From the 80+ SLANG TERMS , in this I speek Slang occasionally! I created a phrase for restroom or bathroom, (NUMEROUS slang terms spoken in Tennessee Ernie Ford's visit & 2-parter in "I Love Lucy"). Occasionally, I call the restroom,

    "THE OUTHOUSE, IN THE HOUSE"!

  • Who dared to dislike this hysterically humorous classic cartoon?!

  • She ate like a horse....that part makes me lose my s**t! hahaha

  • this has got to be the funniest cartoon of all time LMAO!!!!

  • God bless youtube

  • LOL!!!

Nothing more needs to be said.

  • Tex Avery's "Symphony In Slang" is my alltime favorite animaied short or movie!

    NO DOUBT!

  • There's this classic cartoon where there are talking planes and a propeller plane has a son that's a jet, but he hates jets. I don't know the name, though.

  • Brilliant!

  • Mary got fat! @6:02

  • I remember seeing this as a little kid, not even knowing English very well, yet as I grew I remembered some of the lines at realized how funny it actually was ... glad I found it again now

  • The funniest cartoon in the known world.

  • Wow, thank you so much! I have been looking for this for a long time, I think this is one of the most creative things ever and hilarious!!! "Outside it was rainin' cats and dogs!"

  • I to agree with defygravity464 Ive been searching this show for years it bothered me cuz I had a song called fancy clown by MAdvillain and remixed with viktor vaughn and it killed me as my favorite songs cuz this was the way it beganwith the part I think he was connected so I left everything looked black so I carried on... man thank you so much I had to see it one more time

  • Oh my gosh, I love this cartoon!! I've only ever seen it once before. I was maybe six and I was trying to sneak and watch some cartoons late at night and this came on. I only remembered the parts about the "little ones" and how he died laughing, but I thought it was the most clever thing--and I thought I was like a genius for getting so many of the puns. xD I've been googling it every so often over the years and coudn't find it, so thank you!!

  • @DefyGravity464 wow my story is like EXACTLY the same as yours! i finally found it when i googled 'and they had a bunch of little ones'+'cartoon' or something like it, because the part with the 'little ones' was the one i remembered most from when i saw it as a child.. i didn't remember it being so short though

  • been looking for this forever ! thank you thank you thank you

  • Best cartoon I ever seen.

Although, some lines have become outdated, like the pins

  • Sounds like he was at the end of his rope. (Holding the end of a piece of rope)

But, he was able to pull through, (Pulling the word through.)

  • Tex Avery was, is, and always will be the greatest cartoonist ever!

  • my dad and i watched this when i was a rly young now that im 19 we still watch it this many yrs later

  • Greatest cartoon ever

  • i love this cartoon because it takes everything literaly

  • My Teacher referred me to this video, and I do not regret watching it. I don't get the silver spoon thing though.

  • @TheSebas492 "born with a silver spoon in his mouth"...it's an old phrase for being born rich

  • Wow he literally....everything

  • Poor cattle

  • It looks more like the cat got your condom. ;3

  • This video is awesome, but impossible to translate to other languages without loosing the fun.

  • Check what Jim Stroud wrote on englishcafe(dot)com for the explanations of the idioms in case you get lost. Really helpful.

  • I saw this cartoon on boomerang a couple of month ago. I recored it. This is my moms fav cartoon.

  • the cat got my tongue 2

  • " I was up against it " ROFL !!!!!!!!!!

  • ... (I think the cat got my toung)

  • Damn cats and their tongue-stealing capabilities.

    They are sneaky bastards.

  • Excellent! Interesting, funny and educational...

  • madvillain samples this cartoon in the song strange ways. took me forever to find it. now its my favorite.

  • "The Cat Got Your Tongue" pun gets me every time.

  • SKrY209.tk

  • Geeeeeeez, these puns are making me laugh very hard.

  • God this is so fucking funny! why can't they make cartoons like this anymore?

  • @metaljunkie882003 Because then Saturday morning cartoons would actually be good. And apparently that's not what big name animation studios want these days.

  • Funny, very funny.

  • i have been looking for this one. it is one of my childhood favorites. i still say hows tricks? . most people have no idea what it means,.

  • I had NO idea what this cartoon was called until someone else mentioned it in an ENTIRELY different thread.Thank you SO much for posting it! Like a couple of other people here I haven't seen it for a LONG time!!!

  • if you dont know what they ment by going on a date, there is something wrong with you

  • Then I decide to get a train ticket to Texas. And then make some dough, punching cattle. From there, I flew in to Chicago. Then a beautiful girl stepped in the picture.

  • Thanks for posting the video I was looking high and low for it.

  • The male voices on this cartoon are by John Brown, who appeared on a bunch of radio shows. He's using his Digger O'Dell voice for Noah Webster and a variation of his Al voice from My Friend Irma.

  • that is not what he ment when he said

    "crack of dawn"

  • or "that burn me up"

  • Thank you for posting the video! I have searched for it for the last 30 years!
