  • I live in Buckey Arizona and attempting to buy any herbs or spices other than usual supermarket overpriced standard fare is virtually impossible - does anyone kinow of a decent on line line supplier of Indian type spices etc.,?

  • @1foodoflove You may be able to grow many of them especially if you live in a warm climate , I live in the UK even so I enjoy growing herbs in the summer I find the flavor of home grown herbs to be very good , You may find some spices in Chinese supermarkets anyway you'll soon find what you need maybe even over the internet Try to use whole spices and grind as required LOVE

  • OMG THANK YOU ive been looking for this recipe FOREVER!!! :D now to try this YUM YUM

  • i made this recipe but the taste was bitter...can u tell me wat went wrong?

  • @saurabhgrover2715 Using too much fenugreek or 'methi' could have that effect - she used 10 seeds only, it has a very savoury taste and not a lot is necessary, could that be it?

This recipe should cut the prep time by half and results are a little more greasier but probably tastier to boot. I just bought a big 10kg bag of white potatos and need all the recipes I can get or they will get old and grow roots.

I guess the trick to frying potatoes is boiling them first. I've been trying to make simple hame-made fries but they always come out soggy and not at all worth eating.

    Great job! And thank you!

  • dear Madam.

Thank you for your reciepies.. it is very nice and very delicious .. I love Indian food. But I have a question for you .. what kind of flour you use for the parata and for the nan and for this recipy..

  • Use Atta flour (sometimes called chapatti flour) for parathas, or you could use a fine ground whole-wheat flour.

For Naan use Maida flour (which can be called "plain flour" or "all-purpose flour" in other parts of the world). There is no flour in this recipe (Spicy Potatoes).

    HTH
