He handled that very well. I'm glad this happened, because I might not have heard of him otherwise. I was watching "Spalding Gray", when this came up as a related video.
You go, Mike. I'm proud to say that we both received our theater degree from the same institution. way to break some boundaries and create REAL ENGAGING theater. this has sparked quite the conversation - which, in my opinion, is the entire reason for art.
Watch how he addresses the audience.. how could you not sympathize with him? Never before has a protest been so counterproductive. Not only did it improve the way the audience viewed this man, but it also caused his show to be seen by, as of right now, 160 thousand other people who may or may not have known about him before this. It also leaves many thinking "is destroying this man's original work the christian thing to do?" And lastly, they paid 87 times the admission cost to do so.
Those people were just as bad as the people who protested France...by buying their wine...then pouring it out...LOL. Hello you just supported them. Christians are funny.
To the person who posted that religion and arts don't mix very well. That does indeed seem to be the case. I agree with you. It's also ironic that theater began with a religious impulse. In caves, where early man gathered around the sacred circle around a fire to eat, for protection, and to watch someone re-enact the hunt. In ancient Greece theater began as a way of giving thanks to the gods for the bounty of the harvest. The earliest theaters had an altar! Very strange how things change
I still find this video hilarious. The christian group who walked out on Mr. Daisey utterly sabotaged their own protest by paying admission to a show they didn't want to watch. I don't know if they knew about the language that the show contained beforehand or not, but still.
This video could be summarized thusly: A man walks up to another man in the street, shouts obscenities at him, and then hands him $50 and walks away.
I'm christian and I am offended by what these other so called ''christians'' just did to his show. Like Mike said, ''You people should find out what your going to see before you come to a show to see it''. This is what makes christians in general look bad., Or maybe they are all just Paris Hilton fans, lol, like the guy below me just mentioned, lol.
Mike I have to say that I hated that this happened to you. As a Christian myself I know that they acted in completely unchristian ways! To blame you for them not doing their homework before bringing their class to see your performance is completely outrageous. I just can't believe that you didn't smack the guy with the water.
There's nothing in the bible that says anything about cursing. There's things about not using the lords name in vain but nothing about cursing. So you can say "fuck", "shit" and so on, but one could argue if it's okay to say "Christs sake" or "Oh my god".
Wow. I came across this on Nick Gisbourne's website, and I have to admit I was speechless when I saw it happen, and I was prepared for it from the blurb beforehand. How you handled yourself was absolutely incredible, not just while it happened, but from what I've read about what happened afterwards.
The word role model often gets tossed about willy nilly, especially with people (for the sole reason of 'having faith') but the way you handled yourself was fantastic. Role model? Definitely.
That wasn't an authentic act of "Christianity" - that was an act of a group with an agenda to be self-righteous. The group may have been labeled Christians but an authentic Christian would have NOT done that. Please don't assume the entire label of Christian is self- righteously rude.
Because theyre Christians and they are taught to be self righteous and greater than thou. This is not just an opinion, this is coming from an ex childrens pastor, music minister and evangelist. Yep that was me.
I went and saw his "If You See Something Say Something" monologue in at the Cap Fringe Fest in D.C. last week and I must say, he is amazing. It's supposed to be going on tour in the next couple months too.
Wow, that was really uncool. It's one thing to be against or protest a performance, and another to willfully and childishly disrupt a performance without even being willing to enter into discourse over the (perceived?) problem. What un-Christian behaviour, and what an embarrassment. Well done to Daisey for handling it so professionally.
Wow, I think I felt just like the audience watching that. That was really shocking and irritating, Kudo's Mr Daisey for being able to handle that so well.
This is incredible.. on a smaller scale these "christians" are terrorists.. they are trying to force their beliefs on others.. Besides being rude and immature the only goal they successfully reached was to lose alot of respect from alot of people. Thanks to youtube it will be even more people!
I know that this will ruffle a few feathers here, but here goes: I think that the idiot who poured water on Mike D's papers was wrong for doing that. Be that as it may, I also think that since the teachers/principal claim that they were told (maybe they misheard the description, but I find it hard to believe that people would pay to walk out) that Mike's show was appropriate for high school age kids (and of course this particular show wasn't)they have a right to walk out.
how is it in any way moral to destroy the man's writings? why doesn't one take the effort to investigate what one is paying to see? he was making the concept of hyperrealism in a post-modern media saturated society a human and relatable one, but aw, they heard the f-word and couldn't handle it. this kind of backwards behavior belongs in some other decade. makes me sick. bravo for his grace under fire.
All it takes for the the promotion and toleration of evil is for good people to do nothing. The walk out was not difficult to understand, the performance was lewd, gutteral, and should beoffensive to all morally sane individuals.
What I find so inherently and patently offensive is people like YOU deciding what is worthy of merit and what is not.
Who the hell elected you?
If you do not like the play, book, art, or speech, don't watch, read, view, or listen to it.
The moment you try and decide what I should be watching, reading, listening to, or talking about is the day you become far more insidious than anything Mr. Daisey can say.
From the bottom of my heart I say to you, go FUCK yourself.
This was too bad. I don't care what these protesters claim to be, but they don't appear Christian. "Humble and Meek" are words that are SUPPOSED to come to mind. What was their point? To give money to the same guy who you were protesting? I would be ashamed if I was one of the people in the crowd. They did nothing but destroy, there was no work done. Just cowards. Congrats Mike Daisey, you did very well presenting yourself after such actions.
He seems like a nice dude. At least he took the right way: offering conversation. Too bad no one accepted. That would have been interesting. Why bother buying tickets to a show that you will walk out on...weird. If all people have to worry about is bad language, well then, they need to ..... I can't think of anything.
everyone should click on the link in the description and read the "full account" and especially the "aftermath" parts. The video shows a man with amazing control and grace under pressure, but reading what he was thinking and how he dealt with the fallout really adds volumes to the story. "Don't ever forget a liberal atheist forgave you today." BRILLIANT.
those people are complete insults to christians. You have a right to walk out, but you do not have the right to destroy. This man exhibited incredible self control. It looked like an older man who dumped the water, I would have grabbed him and held him there.
Kudos to you for keeping your cool, Mike! As a performer, I believe that would have to be the most unsettling thing in the world, especially in the middle of a packed house. But you rocked, especially starting the dialogue with those that were just as confused as you were. Fabulous, buddy. Fabu-fucking-lous!
This is truly ironic. They bought tickets! Then left all the good seats for others to move up. God's will is done in the end. You got to love these Christian retards. Now if they would all just get raptured, and leave us the good seats all over the world! And please take the fundamentalist Muslims with you! This guy is now famous! Thanks Christians!
Bravo to you for your composure and self control. Those sheep certainly had the right to walk out but nobody, not for any reason, had any need or right to destroy your papers. That man is actually guilty of a crime.
They walked out because you said "fuck" and in Nigeria, the state razed four theaters because they're places for "harlots and drug addicts." Hypocrisy and ignorance and fear and the enormous egos of those who think they possess the ONE and only TRUTH. And I just bet that if your monologue contained words like "nigger" and "kike"--TRULY OFFENSIVE WORDS-- they would have been just fine with that. The hypocrisy!! (AND I bet hard money that they probably use all of those words).
hypatience; You've summed them up just right: Too many 'christians' live in ignorance, fear, hypocrisy and have ENORMOUS EGO'S and think they possess the ONE and ONLY TRUTH. It truly sickens me that a group of ppl can go around with such arrogance, and the minute you do something they don't like, its: You're going to hell!
Irony? These Christian retards bought tickets! Then they left the good seats to everyone else. God's will is done in the end. Now if they would just get raptured and leave all the rest of the good seats in the world too! And please take the fundamentalist Muslims too! Now this guy is more famous than ever, 137thousand hits! Thanks Christians! I never would have seen this guy if you hadn't pulled this little Nazi protest.
At 1:10 he had a look like, "Am I being Punk'd?" I give him kudos for challenging them. And likle cowards they run away. Some f**king protest. I also like that he did very good damage control for the audince members who actually wanted to see the show.
THIS GUY WAS GREAT! those people were precious dandy's! and if i was there the man who poured water on the papers wouldnt have gotten very far before he met me fist to face
I would just like to say that I am embarrassed and ashamed to be an alumnus of an organization where students and staff have the audacity to disrespect you as a performer. All I can say is that I am sorry.
You handled that SO well! I'm very impressed. Not to mention, you are completely fucking hilarious! I would have tripped the fuckers on their way out.
HOW TO TELL IF YOU'RE NOT A REAL CHRISTIAN IN 3 EASY STEPS:
1. Make a list of everyone you hate.
2. Make a list of all the people Jesus hated.
3. Compare the lists.
If your list has more names on it then Jesus' you are not a real Christian (hint: Jesus loved his enemies).
Many Christians seem to be frightened of the world and use their interpretation of Jesus as a bludgeon against things that scare them and they don't understand. That's sad for them. Jesus had no fear or hate.
...The people who walked out have a very bizarre superstition. They believe in VOODOO. They really think that by saying a certain thing, a powerful spook is going to GET you. So, you must never never say that spook's name. I can't think of a polite word to put on such stupidity. Mike Daisey, you're cool, and I'm amazed at how well you handled a particularly popular form of mass idiocy.
I would love to have a show where 87 asshole christians would buy tickets and then get their ass up and leave in two minutes. And then do it again the next night.
Ridiculous. God forbid they actually talk about an issue with one of the few people who would willingly confront such a bs manuever. Silent protest generally means there is an inarguable point. Congratulations for embarassing yourselves, your university and your faith.
I am a Christian as well but do not agree with what they did. They should have left quietly at a time when it wouldnt have disturbed others. Please do not judge all Christians by these in this clip.
As a Christian currently studying theatre at a university level, my reaction to this is divided. Audience members should be informed about the shows that they attend, and if they feel it necessary to leave, should do so discreetly during intermission. The artist in me is infuriated at the concept of an unruly audience member consciously destroying an artists work in the middle of a performance.
It seems that the audience was informed. you might be interested in reading the "aftermath" writeup from Mike Daisey. It's pretty interesting to learn more about the school and the incident itself.
Go to mike daisey dot com (all one word, of course) and look up the April 24th blog entry.
I have been spammed with a long, hysterical screed from a user called 'buddynusa' who seems to think I am Mike Daisey because of my comments on this video. Please be careful about commenting here. Apparently it leaves you a target for insane people.
I too have received the same jumbled mess of false accusations via (private) general messages on YouTube from a poster with the handle "buddynusa".
There are some deranged zealots who just won't accept that these chaperones completely screwed up and made multiple missteps.
It's clear from the video and subsequent remarks from people that support the chaperone's actions, that they are separate from reality. It's really too bad. I feel sad for the students there.
Oh, me too. I wondered why on earth it was calling me Mike, when it's quite obvious I'm not Mike. Couldn't spell or organise a thought for toffee. I wonder if it will graduate? This high school must be one of those 'special' ones.
I don't judge Christ or his teachings based on these extremists, I just judge the religion. And all religions. The cons outweigh the pros for me. If that makes me an idiot, so be it.
I can agree with you in one aspect, religion is garbage. All forms of it, I should have been more specific in saying the Christian lifestyle. IF it is a religion the cons do outweigh the pros, but if it is a lifestyle you should be like Christ- not insulting people and ruining their property b/c you disagree with what they say.
Other than their chaperones cheating them out of Mr. Daisey's show (or another show those inept adults could accept), I don't think anyone has punished the students. Mike Daisey has not punished them.
But those kids have CERTAINLY learned a lot of valuable lessons from this that incompetent teachers and adults currently directing their lives are apparently incapable of delivering.
Not all Christians are like that, I am a Christian and I would NEVER do something like that, those people are monsters, and they give good, honest Christians a bad name
You associate yourself with any sort of ideology you associate yourself with extremist scumbags like these fuckers. Doesn't matter what religion you are. So now I stay away from it all, that way I don't have to worry about douche bags unfairly representing me.
And these Christians are not in the minority, sadly.
After looking and reading paper web sites.I see something funny.show took place on 4-19-07.ART knew who this group wasbut did not let Mike know?hmmm
Mike talks to school 4-20-07. and water man after his show the eveing of 4-20-07 But on 4-21-07 post on youtube heading Mike Daisey was performing his monologue INVINCIBLE SUMMER at American Repertory Theatre on April 19th when the show was disrupted by eighty seven members of a Christian group .why not post truth heading hmmmmm
The video was posted to YouTube on the 20th, at the same time the first posting was made to my site--you can check Google's caches. I believe the added date changed when I edited some information on the video.
Why would chaperones of a public high school choir identify themselves as a group of christians when they disrupted a live performance where a member conducted an act of vandalism?
how does your time frame make any difference in what was done to the show? OH WAIT..it doesn't. so it doesn't really matter that you posted this crap.
Everyone is just out for a ranting and raving in order to stir up controversey. This is probably the best publicity this guys has ever had and he knows it. Let them have their fun.
All of these comments are unnecessary. These were students simply doing as they were instructed to because they were on a field trip. It is not their fault for the way the chaperone acted. One man's actions should not affect the outlook of this school, that does not have one particular religion that impacts their actions or rules.
The chaperones failed in their duties if they believed that 14 to 17 year-olds should not be exposed to curse words. Why couldn't they ask directly about curse words if they were certain to be offended by any of it? Instead they failed to admit their errors and embarked on numerous "holier than than thou" actions that ultimately displayed their arrogance, rudeness, ignorance and intolerance.
And the only thing that they are sorry about, is that all these actions have been exposed.
My son is 12 years-old now, and I have been taking him dozens of "children targeted" productions including many at the Orange County Performing Arts Center since he was 7 or 8 years old. It is not difficult at all to find age-appropriate presentations. By contrast I've attended scores of productions geared towards a older audience, and ALWAYS received ample warning from show descriptions and programs if "adult themes" or "strong language" was present in the production.
when did I say my post were eloquent? It easy to criticize me if you create fictional arguments lol. I already told you. It's not much namecalling in this case. "Dumbass"- meaning not very intelligent is a fitting label. You have demonstrated why you deserve this label on several occasions and therefore it is only appropraite that I bring it to your attention.
I do believe my posts will be deleted as before though, because we can't have anyone presenting this situation in comical manner. Oh wait, he is supposed to be comedian right. This is something you would see on SNL or some parody show.
your view is irrelevant to what happenend. lol, I think the fact you don't get that is the funniest thing about this entire situation. This is about a prostest and the way it was carried out, not about whether some nobody thinks it was a funny situation or not.
well you've changed your whole line of argument now from only one side of the story is being presented to "no one can present this situation in a commical manner" lol, thanks a third time for clearly showing you have no understanding of the main issue which is about how a protest was carried out. You thinking its funny has no relevance or significance to the situation. Unless you have something to say about the real issue at hand then who cares if your post is deleted.
WoW, too bad this guy is deleting most every post that presents the other side of the story. I've alredy had 2 or 3 posts deleted because I said the event was funnier than his Paris Hilton Joke. I know there are others that agree out there, however their comments ar being deleted. I hope you all know this is a one sided representation of the event. And to think that Mr. Mike Daisey was supposedly above all of this. ppphhhssss, yeah right.
you dumbass....what other side of the story. Tell us what we're all missing. A christian group offended by the language (that they knew ahead of time was in the show) goes out of their way to destroy his work and then leave without even discussing how they felt. If you can't articulate your views and act like a civilized human being you are an idiot. I'm sure they all made Jesus proud though
HAHAHAHAH! Look who is talking about being civilized, and then resorting to childish name calling. But that is beside the point. I'm talking about how funny this video and whole event is.
Like I've said in my deleted posts. This is really funny. Did you see the look on that guys face. He's like Daaaahhhh whhaaattss going on? I could care a less about who or why they walked out. The dude pouring water in him was just plain funny. Funnier than this guy's Paris Hilton Joke.
lol, exactly, your admitting you missed the whole point which is probably why your post was deleted. and then you say only one side of the story is being presented when in reality you have no idea if this is the case. your posts have nothing to do with either side of the story lol. Yes I did result to name calling "dumbass," however, it seems a justified label to use when u have clearly demonstraed twice now that you are a dumbass.
childish name calling usually has no justification in case you don't understand. But hey, lets hear the other side of the story that you think we are all missing. Oh wait, thats right, it could only come from a member of the protest group which you aren't which again I think warrents another dumbass label :) If the group wanted to share their side of the story they had every opportunity when Mike begged them too on their way out the door
maybe the reason your posts were deleted is because your missing the whole point of what this is about. You thought his joke wasn't funny, good for you. How is that relevant to what happened. You aren't presenting the other side of the story unless you are a member of that group which clearly demonstraed it doesn't even understand it own side or what they were trying to do. They have accomplished nothing. Meaningful change is reached through dialogue
Mike Daisey explained that on his website:"The group responsible for the incident is from a public high school, though they identified themselves to me as a Christian group as they fled the theater--it's barely audible on the YouTube clip, as an adult tells me they are a Christian group, then flees for the door, refusing to engage with me. Then in the lobby of the theater and on the phone to the box office they identified themselves again and again as a Christian group...
People like this make me sick. Read what Mike said about his conversation with the "water pourer." This guy has no moral problem making racial slurs, but feels the need to destroy something just because it drops an f-bomb. Just another example about how the Bible can delude people into thinking they're fighting for an imaginary friend, when really they are just being hurtful and divisive. The "liberal atheist" was the only one who showed any moral integrity here.
Once you acknowledge how absurd it is to believe in god, you become truly shocked and dumbfounded when people discuss their religious beliefs. With this new vision, their words seem like a child's when they are playing with their dolls and creating a nonsensical fantasy world. But to see 'actions' like these, where people are driven to bizarre behavior based on a non-existent god and an archaic book, in something that is completely logical to them, is mind-boggling.
The teachers messed up by buying tickets fora "unsuitable" (in their eyes) show. They decided they should leave and did so. Disrespectful to the performer, but if they must. One water poring idiot did something stupid and rightly deserves condemnation. The Performer handled the situation impeccably and deserves praise.
Hmmm. I live in Norco and also go to this school (Norco High) and I didn't even know this happened until I saw a bored and my math teacher talked about it. Man, this really ruined our town/school rep, I'll tell you that.
That's because it isn't considered bad manners to leave a movie. In live theatre, it tends to spoil everyone else's experience when you get up and leave, interrupting the performer and blocking the audience's line of sight MUCH more than you would in a cinema. You can throw actors right off their lines doing that shit. It's very very rude.
Pouring the water on Mike Daisey's notes was uncalled for. However, the majority of students was quietly leaving. They never meant to offend or attack anyone. Also, why call them a "Christian Group"? Don't you think that could have offended them?
As my grandfather told me... "If they're shooting at you, you must be doing something right."

MITZMAN 4 years ago

Congrats Mike Daisey, you did very well presenting yourself after such actions.

everyone should click on the link in the description and read the "full account" and especially the "aftermath" parts.

Artist or no, there was absolutely positively no cause to do anything whatever to that man. NONE. Jerkoff psycho Christians.
WinterXL 4 years ago
As a Christian currently studying theatre at a university level, my reaction to this is divided. Audience members should be informed about the shows that they attend, and if they feel it necessary to leave, should do so discreetly during intermission. The artist in me is infuriated at the concept of an unruly audience member consciously destroying an artists work in the middle of a performance.
gwuroscius 4 years ago

It seems that the audience was informed. you might be interested in reading the "aftermath" writeup from Mike Daisey. It's pretty interesting to learn more about the school and the incident itself.

There are some deranged zealots who just won't accept that these chaperones completely screwed up and made multiple missteps.
It's clear from the video and subsequent remarks from people that support the chaperone's actions, that they are separate from reality. It's really too bad. I feel sad for the students there.

Anyone who would judge the Christian religion based on fringe lunatics who completely go against the word of God by judging others is an idiot.
If you want to judge Christianity, judge it based on it's merits, not what some idiots who say they're Christian do in their free time.
shekinahgloria 4 years ago
I don't judge Christ or his teachings based on these extremists, I just judge the religion. And all religions. The cons outweigh the pros for me. If that makes me an idiot, so be it.
TulseLuper 4 years ago
I can agree with you in one aspect, religion is garbage. All forms of it, I should have been more specific in saying the Christian lifestyle. IF it is a religion the cons do outweigh the pros, but if it is a lifestyle you should be like Christ- not insulting people and ruining their property b/c you disagree with what they say.
shekinahgloria 4 years ago
Other than their chaperones cheating them out of Mr. Daisey's show (or another show those inept adults could accept), I don't think anyone has punished the students. Mike Daisey has not punished them.
But those kids have CERTAINLY learned a lot of valuable lessons from this that incompetent teachers and adults currently directing their lives are apparently incapable of delivering.

Everyone is just out for a ranting and raving in order to stir up controversey. This is probably the best publicity this guys has ever had and he knows it. Let them have their fun.
H00TYH00 4 years ago
All of these comments are unnecessary. These were students simply doing as they were instructed to because they were on a field trip. It is not their fault for the way the chaperone acted. One man's actions should not affect the outlook of this school, that does not have one particular religion that impacts their actions or rules.
sweetdarknesss16 4 years ago
So you don't believe that the choir and their chaperones should be considered as representatives of their school or organization?
Is that what the students are being taught?
Is that what is being expressed to the adults associated with this school?
SoCalVet5 4 years ago
The chaperones failed in their duties if they believed that 14 to 17 year-olds should not be exposed to curse words. Why couldn't they ask directly about curse words if they were certain to be offended by any of it? Instead they failed to admit their errors and embarked on numerous "holier than than thou" actions that ultimately displayed their arrogance, rudeness, ignorance and intolerance.
And the only thing that they are sorry about, is that all these actions have been exposed.
SoCalVet5 4 years ago
My son is 12 years-old now, and I have been taking him dozens of "children targeted" productions including many at the Orange County Performing Arts Center since he was 7 or 8 years old. It is not difficult at all to find age-appropriate presentations. By contrast I've attended scores of productions geared towards a older audience, and ALWAYS received ample warning from show descriptions and programs if "adult themes" or "strong language" was present in the production.

(mbcraig11) "Meaningful change is reached through dialogue" "Yes I did result to name calling "dumbass," "
As this is so evident in your meanigful and eloquent posts right?
H00TYH00 4 years ago
when did I say my post were eloquent? It easy to criticize me if you create fictional arguments lol. I already told you. It's not much namecalling in this case. "Dumbass"- meaning not very intelligent is a fitting label. You have demonstrated why you deserve this label on several occasions and therefore it is only appropraite that I bring it to your attention.
mbcraig11 4 years ago
I do believe my posts will be deleted as before though, because we can't have anyone presenting this situation in comical manner. Oh wait, he is supposed to be comedian right. This is something you would see on SNL or some parody show.
H00TYH00 4 years ago
your view is irrelevant to what happenend. lol, I think the fact you don't get that is the funniest thing about this entire situation. This is about a prostest and the way it was carried out, not about whether some nobody thinks it was a funny situation or not.
mbcraig11 4 years ago
well you've changed your whole line of argument now from only one side of the story is being presented to "no one can present this situation in a commical manner" lol, thanks a third time for clearly showing you have no understanding of the main issue which is about how a protest was carried out.

H00TYH00 4 years ago
you dumbass....what other side of the story. Tell us what we're all missing. A christian group offended by the language (that they knew ahead of time was in the show) goes out of their way to destroy his work and then leave without even discussing how they felt. If you can't articulate your views and act like a civilized human being you are an idiot. I'm sure they all made Jesus proud though
mbcraig11 4 years ago
H00TYH00 4 years ago
lol, exactly, your admitting you missed the whole point which is probably why your post was deleted. and then you say only one side of the story is being presented when in reality you have no idea if this is the case. your posts have nothing to do with either side of the story lol. Yes I did result to name calling "dumbass," however, it seems a justified label to use when u have clearly demonstraed twice now that you are a dumbass.
mbcraig11 4 years ago
childish name calling usually has no justification in case you don't understand. But hey, lets hear the other side of the story that you think we are all missing. Oh wait, thats right, it could only come from a member of the protest group which you aren't which again I think warrents another dumbass label :) If the group wanted to share their side of the story they had every opportunity when Mike begged them too on their way out the door
mbcraig11 4 years ago
maybe the reason your posts were deleted is because your missing the whole point of what this is about. You thought his joke wasn't funny, good for you. How is that relevant to what happened. You aren't presenting the other side of the story unless you are a member of that group which clearly demonstraed it doesn't even understand it own side or what they were trying to do. They have accomplished nothing. Meaningful change is reached through dialogue
mbcraig11 4 years ago
..people...it wasn't a Christian group, it was just the school's choir. I don't know why they throw the term "Christian Group" on them!
macybrown 4 years ago
Mike Daisey explained that on his website:"The group responsible for the incident is from a public high school, though they identified themselves to me as a Christian group as they fled the theater--it's barely audible on the YouTube clip, as an adult tells me they are a Christian group, then flees for the door, refusing to engage with me. Then in the lobby of the theater and on the phone to the box office they identified themselves again and again as a Christian group...
SoCalVet5 4 years ago
People like this make me sick. Read what Mike said about his conversation with the "water pourer." This guy has no moral problem making racial slurs, but feels the need to destroy something just because it drops an f-bomb. Just another example about how the Bible can delude people into thinking they're fighting for an imaginary friend, when really they are just being hurtful and divisive. The "liberal atheist" was the only one who showed any moral integrity here.
wagnerpe 4 years ago
Once you acknowledge how absurd it is to believe in god, you become truly shocked and dumbfounded when people discuss their religious beliefs. With this new vision, their words seem like a child's when they are playing with their dolls and creating a nonsensical fantasy world. But to see 'actions' like these, where people are driven to bizarre behavior based on a non-existent god and an archaic book, in something that is completely logical to them, is mind-boggling.

macybrown 4 years ago
That's because it isn't considered bad manners to leave a movie. In live theatre, it tends to spoil everyone else's experience when you get up and leave, interrupting the performer and blocking the audience's line of sight MUCH more than you would in a cinema. You can throw actors right off their lines doing that shit. It's very very rude.
