  • Does not work for 2.2 :(

  • Hey does anyone here live in nyc i will be willing to pay $20 dollars for someone to root my droid to overclock it.

  • Dude dont blow on your mic. Thanks.

  • Worst tutorial ever FLUNKED

  • overclocking it too much will burn it and/or increase your temperature which will slow it down

  • Will this affect the batt life?

  • @Legendation Yes

  • Will this make the phone freeze/ break it and how long have you had yours done and has it had any problems/

  • I love to hear when people have taken back possession of their the devices they paid for. These corporate morons trying to control what you do with what you paid for, is absurd. Next thing you know, Government Motors will make it against the law to build a high performance engine in your Chevy! :P

Anyway this is way cool, because this is all Apple did to the iPad's Arm8 core in their A4 chip! Overclocked it!!! ;)

  • just download ROM Manager and dont worry about any of this shit. i just did it in 20 minutes.

  • Nice effort but this is not helpful or instructional. There's no point communicating when you don't convey information. The only thing this guy's communicated is that he knows how to overclock his droid. Lots of us do. But if he's trying to show someone who doesn't already know, this is pointless since you can't make out anything useful on the video and you throw around arcane lingo. If you already know how to overclock, this vid was also pointless. LILBZ3, adb=Android Debug Bridge.

  • correction, it's not faster than the n1, the n1 runs at 1ghz STABLE, if you overclock the n1 you could get up to 2.3GHZ which is what i have it on.

  • How do i undo this? Because this is what fucked up my phone twice now.

  • 8====D~~~ ;D

  • BALLS

  • Ok.. It worked but when i refreshed on setCPU it went back down to 550 max. Wtf.

  • Ok..it worked for the quick second i got to open setcpu it said 999mb but then it restarted again and it finaly stoped rebooting and i opened setcpu and it went back down to 550 max. Im hella confused right now.. Im about to just get rid of the rom shit i have. Fucks up hella with roms.

  • is there any way to make my phone stop booting so many times?! Fuck. Everytime it says preparing sdcard on the phone it just restarts the phone.

  • Nevermind i got it. Cool thanks.. Im redoing it now.. Ill tell you if it works.

  • Ok. Big question! Umm.. Theres a tools folder in the SDK setup folder and theres a tools folder in the system folders on the droid Rom. Which one do i mount?!!!

  • you run the cd C:\tools in command prompt, but when youre mounting"system" on the droid its the system folder that youre mounting to be rw.

  • but what if it doesn't find the C:\tools?

  • then your tools folder is stored elsewhere, or you havent installed ADB

  • whats adb?

  • i say that because there is no tools folder in my C drive.

  • So the evilboot1g.img file should be in the root of the sdcard. "put the .img file in your tools folder" What .img file? Evilboot?

  • Do i need the paid version of the app "SetCPU" in order to overclock at all over 550 Mb?

  • theres a free version in the sidebar's download link.

  • Am i supposed to have the "evilboot1g.img" on the root of the sd card? Because when i changed the code to "system/bin/flash_image boot /documents and settings/brian/desktop/evilboot1g.img" it i think worked because it said, "usage: /system/bin/flash_image partition file.img" is that what its supposed to say? Then it gave me a fresh adb shell to type more code. (#)

  • yes you are. it should be in the root of the card so you type in

    .../flash_image boot /sdcard/evilboot1g.img

it should just repeat the command back to you on the line below, then give you a

    #

sign when dont. so no, it didnt work.

  • Okk.. I was tinkering around a bit and the "flash_image" was found but now the "/sdcard/evilboot1g.img" cant be found. wtf.

  • did you copy the evilboot1g.img file over to your sdcard?

put the .img file in your tools folder, then open a cmd, do the cd C:\tools thing, then type in

    adb push evilboot1g.img /sdcard/evilboot1g.img

    then try again.

  • Shitt.. I got an error saying, "systembinflash_image: not found" I typed in "\system\bin\flash_image boot \sdcard\evilboot1g.img"

  • check out PDANET by june fabrics, you can tether your phone without rooting for free

  • Jesus man..learn to speak into the MIC.

That and update this in HD or use a closeup of what your doing.

  • Please update this in HD, I can't read any of anything on the command prompt and I really want to overclock my Droid.

  • i tested 1ghz but have no plans on using that on daily use. Im happy with Bugless Beast [800MHz & Wifi] V0.7.1 for now.

  • Can you do a comparison of browser scrolling or pinch & zoom in dolphin before and after the over clock?

Also how did you set up the black status bar.

  • ooor pinch and zoom in the stock browser(check my other vids).

and thats a ROM i have loaded on there.

  • Hey i was confused and the process took me 2 hours. So if anyone want a more detailed explanation go to my profile were my directions will be posted.

hey coolbho3000 i want to help you create a better explained video email me

  • ... how? theres not much else to it than what i described.

i have to redo the video anyway though. didnt upload in HD, and a new setcpu release.

  • with the mic not being close enough to you at times i could no under stand what you were saying.

I would recommend typing the commands in the video info part, so that way we wont have to play your video back a million times just to execute one command.

  • hove you tried the neo core benchmark after install??if so can you tell me the FPS you received??

  • Get the latest version of SetCPU then go to the bottom and select "autodetect." The frequency tables should now be correct.

  • true, but that costs money.

and there may be an issue with any overclocking past 800 with the new one as it only autodetects to 800

  • There's a thread that offers it for free on XDA and a download is also posted on the second page of the Alldroid thread.

It autodetects frequencies higher than 800. I would know (I'm the developer of SetCPU, heh).

  • wuuuh? alright, ill get that done then heh. can only keep up with so many boards and so many threads.
