  • @Ryadin91 You can't do that. they gotta be the same clock speed.

  • @Ryadin91 no you have to have them all the same , so with only 4x 2gb ram is 8gb max

  • my PC needs new RAM cuz this one sucks bad

  • just to let you know its, Random Access Memory, It's like a Dumping station that gets erased, and the more and faster your ram the faster it will Access the randomness and the more equivalent your PC will run :)

  • @jjkul1

    Thats what i thought. Thanks.

  • i had a 1G of Ram and a 160 GB of hard disk..I used Asrock G13M-S and i need to know what kind of Lan card i will use.

  • so the more ram the faster my comp? if si is it possible to put in to much ram?

  • Dude the more the ram the more faster and your cannot put too much ram

  • @iggymydog

Not necessarily, depends on your operating system and other hardware that goes with it.

Each computer has a limiting facter ie the factor that is furthest from its optimum and limiting a pc's performance. RAM can be one but thats rarely the issue.

  • im running vista 32 os, i heard it only recognizes 3gb of ram. i have 4gb of ram but have a 1gb videocard. does that mean i have 3gb of ram left, or does it me i have 2 becuase vista 32 doesnt rezognize the 4th gb

  • ` gb is like not even having try sum like 4 gb or 6 gb even 12 gb

  • 4gb is about the maximum for 32 bit systems though, so don't go buy like 8 gigs if you're planning on running a 32 bit.

  • ahh for 64 bit you can buy 8 gigs.

  • So long as above 4GB 64-bit is okay.

  • where can u by these sticks from????? i looked on amazon there only 1 gb and 2 gb i want a 60gb 0r 80gb, where can i get 1???

  • dude you cant get 60 0r 80 gb Of ram wtf are you stupid .......naw jk

but maybe your thinking bout hardrive

  • so 1 gb is alot of ram?

  • oh hell yeah dude 1gb is alot and shit

like you can store so many things on your computer with one gig

  • 1GB is alot of RAM for speed, RAM stands for Random access memory, it's the speed of your Computer, the more RAM the more it's better, RAM is physical memory that is the speed of your Computer, Hard drive is different, Hard drive is storage, so when you install a game, that game is stored in your Hard drive, the more hard drive space the better.

  • nah..its decent 3 and up is pretty good 4 is super

1 is decent 512 mb is kinda bad 256 sucks

  • u8668 pro

need help upgrading my ram, my pc is a pentium4 that has a ddr1 (pc 2100) ram, if i want to change it to a larger memory do i have to find a ddr1 for pc2100 also?how would i know what ram is compatible with my cpu

  • my computer is 100mbps what is yours?

  • 150mbps

  • 4 gig DDR2 FTW

  • i got 6gig DDR3...lol

  • 3:25-3:30 "its harder than i thouth" jajajaja

  • so can you install 2 cards of ram.

  • u can install as much RAM in as many slots as your motherboard allows

  • the golden heatsink of doom XD

  • i have a packard bell pc does it matter what brand ddr3 i buy??? thanks

  • Forsaken379 you can put as much ram as u like you just need the case

  • more like the motherboard, the case has nothing to do with how much memory you can put into a computer.

  • to buy ram or other computer products go to ccl

  • thanks i followed your instructions and upgraded from a DVD rom to a DVD RW. it didn't even take 10 minutes to do it. thanks it worked like a charm.

  • i have 1gb ddr pc-2300 ram in slot one, if i get another ram, does it matter if i get 1gb ram, 2gb, pc-2700?? please let me know

  • no it doesnt matter

  • look at your motherboard overview to see how much can a slot suport

  • i want to play Sims .... but the requirement is 1 GB ram and we have 512 MB Ram where do we get it and what would u reccomend?

  • New Egg

  • okay, I'm not stupid but I'm not a pc expert ethier, so I'll explain the best I can...

Okay, I had to recently restore my computer, it made me delete a "partition" to reinstall "windows xp"! When I got the computer it had like 1028 mb, now it only has 480 mb, I took the case of and I have 2 memory units in it, after checking some paperwork on the computer I seen that it was recently upgraded with 2 512 mb of ram, why is my computer not recognizing it, or how can I get the pc to recognize it?

  • i have 751 mb

  • i have xp and a gygabyte: GA-G31M-S2l ,,,,,,, what do i need for that

  • Go to a website that belongs to someone producing memory, like Corsair.

At their webstie there should be a memory guide , where you select your motherboard, and then you get the compatible ram.

  • omg iam getting my custom pc soon! thanks and i have one more question how many ram sticks can you have max? TY and do you recommend ddr3 4 gb gamer notch ram?

  • DDR2 is much cheaper...

  • ddr 3 is expensive, ddr 2 is cheaper, ddr3 is faster and more reliable on speed, ddr2 is slower but more reliable in stability.

  • is there a way u can get ram with out all these stuff?

  • lol stealing ram from school is funneh :]

  • lol i got some today! XD

256mb from a ded comp cause sum1 opened it and killed the motherboard so i took some :D

  • 256mb? man you really got to be proud of yourself, you could have at least stolen 1GB for gods sake.

  • @SirDOBBO how do u steal it from skool??

  • @SirDOBBO I think I need to come by and steal your lunch money. Then you'll know what it feels like to have someone steal from you.

  • @SirDOBBO lol i did it once i took some from 3 computer and they all had 5 gig and i sold them for 5 dollars exept 1 i kept it XD

  • i steal ram from my school so i have 5 gigs of ram hell ya

  • nice job ;P

  • wow..lol.

  • @scoottzz1

How did you steal ram from your school??

Did you open the computer box. Take the chip out. And run home. And put in ur computer.. =??

  • @scoottzz1 How you steal it?

  • @scoottzz1 :D

  • @scoottzz1 :D

    -genious

  • @scoottzz1 Hurray for stealing. Retard.

  • @scoottzz1 nice one imight do that lol

  • @scoottzz1 Lol My Computer started with 8 gigs of RAM

  • @scoottzz1 I have 24g bitch!

  • Thanks, now when my packet of 2gb ram arrives WoW will be like VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

  • WoW is hardly demanding... You could run it with 1.5gb ram okay, Even with 1gb of ram it would be good.

  • depending on whether you have xp or vista, usually vista requires more ram, my comp has 2 gigs of ram and my doesnt fly either

  • lol when my teacher was tryin to upgrade 1 of the computer lab's ram. and when he opened the case he was like 0_0 "there are so many confusing slots"

  • lmao :P

  • i just instalted 8gb ram thanks dude

  • Don't you have to ground yourself before touching a RAM?

I'm goin to install a new RAM in my PC and I'm worried that I might mess up my computer's components. Send me a message or reply please.

  • @jamessuhhn

You can ground yourself simply by touching an unpainted part of your case, or power supply.

  • great vid

    great vid Gy

  • i have a dell dimention 8100 what kinda of ram should i get it only has 512mb suck!! pls help where u think i should buy one?

  • no problem.

  • no idea, try googleing your computer...should come up with a price.

  • right click "my computer" click "propities" should say "memory (RAM):" thats where it says how much ram. i whould guess about 1-2 gb ram though.

  • i bought 2GB DDR2 PC4300 RAM but it does not fit on my computer :( does anyone knw why??

  • i have a del, and im going to add more ram from another dell pc

  • I've run into a snag:

I bought some more RAM, installed it, but then the computer wouldn't start. It told me to input the setup disc to repair the file. The original, working RAM was by one company, and the new RAM is made by IBM. I have a Gateway computer. Would the IBM RAM affect this?

  • thanks upgraded from 512gb ram to 2gb

  • oops i mean from 512mb ram to 2gb

  • lol that would be amazing

  • I have a Seanix 8IG1000MK motherboard, Pentium 4 2.6 GHz.

It has two 256 mb ram and two empty lots. I purchased a Kingston RMD1-400/1G into one of the empty slots. However the system does not boot up. I took out the two 256 mg and ran the single 1G and I got the same result. I did notice that the two slots are colored green and the other two purple.

What do you think the issue could be? Do I need 2 x 1 GB?

  • I have a bare-knuckles PowerSpec V100 with a Celeron D 356 processor. Somehow its running Vista with only 512 RAM. I would like to up the RAM and add some other gear since the case is open(capture card, firewire, etc.). Specifically, what type of RAM will I need and are they available in G-sticks? Is there such an issue as too much RAM; I intend to go hard??

  • umm say i take of my old ram would my computer be completly blank? would i have to reinstall windows xp?

  • nope no data is stored in your ram, it is only a temporary place

  • what the differences of ddr3,ddr & ddr2

  • just different types, speeds, and such, check you motherboard to see what it needs.

  • is sdram any good compared to ddr2

  • um god no..

  • can't we just install rom instead?

  • lol sorry not yet

  • dangit

  • yea sure

  • WHY DO YOU NEED RAM???

  • to run programs

  • it makes your computer faster.

  • well thats what came on it and i have 3extra chips but idk if they are compatible for my comp.(XP)

  • go to my website and use the buying memory guide, that will make sure it is 100% compatible

  • i have a windows xp and i have 256mb and i have 3 extra slots and i was wondering is it possible to put a windows 98 chip in it??

  • windows 98 chip? wow 256mb is far too little for xp, watch my video on how to but the right ram and upgrade that

  • Im running xp pro! I only have 160mb of ram, my comp is pretty slow if i have a bunch of programs running so i usualy only have one going at a time!

  • yea check out my website and take a look at the memory upgrade tool, boost that ram up as much as you can, it's cheap right now anyway

  • Thanks man! I think i just need a new comp!! But i don't want to spend the money!! Apparently ram upgrade is the best option for cheap asses like me!

  • me too i have 256 mb of ram but i dont want windows 98 ram i want the new ones

  • ? go to my website and use my memory buying guide, that will show you what you can install

if u don't know ill just trade it in for a drr

  • I will need the motherboard model number and I would be glad to

  • my motherboard supports 2 gigs im not sure if i should just get 2 new DDR PC2100 512 mb sticks and leave it at 1 gig or get 2 1 gig DDR PC2100 sticks

    i have a Dell GX260 desktop Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz

should i go for 2 gig? cause i use photoshop and watch movies alot on here

  • honestly I would go for the 2X1GB. check out our website read the article on ram and use the memory finder. Crucial is the only company i use.

  • k tnx

  • sorry I didn't have better news for you friend

  • here is what I found.

    Memory Expansion

The EP-8KDA3I provides 3 DIMM sockets using 184-pin DDR with a total capacity of up to 3GB. You can install DDR 400MHz Memory.

does this sound correct? Looks like tiger direct sells em, if its more than a year old...honestly other than buying a new one not much you can do...

  • w8 a sec i wil look carfuly :(rly hope you can help me

  • i m sorry but i dont know how to find out :((

  • it should be printed right on the system board...like some numbers and dashes and such...maybe in between pci slots? (ps I still think its a bad ram slot tho)

  • i done it in a way i managed to plug in the 512 and 256 in the first 2 slots and i realised that the problem was the third slot it dosen t work ,how cani activate it ,bios or monething ,when i put something in the third slot the comp starts and nothing appares {excuse my english} can youpls help

  • you could just have a bad slot, I have seen that many times before...what model system board is it?

  • dude can you pls help i have 2 stiks of 256MB DDR-400 and i bot 1 of 512 same DDR but the problem is they dont work when i plug all 3 ,they work only the 2 256 or the 512 alone ,can i fix this so it can work pls help

  • can you provide me the model number of your motherboard?

  • I heard theyre only like 18 dollars with tax, and i see a 512 ddr2 but the ddr one is like 25 dollars+

  • thats super cheap wow, its been a while since I bought ram...

  • Is ddr and ddr2 like the same thing, cause when i seach canada computers it doesnt show 512 ddr, only 512 ddr2.

  • Kk ty.

  • if you want email me the model number of the motherboard and I can offer you more details.

  • they will both have to be ddr, some ddr ram requires two identical sticks to work, I am pretty sure this doesn't effect you. You should be able to add whatever size you need.

  • Whats parity? And they both have to be ddr 266a 2.5 or just make sure theyre both ddr?

  • And can I put a 256 and a 512 together?

  • yea, as long as your ram doesn't require parity, which I assume it doesn't because you have only one stick now. heres to a total of 768!

  • So i have to get another 256 or just another ddr?

  • The one i have currently is a DDR 266 u or a 2.5

  • you should be totally fine. just match it.

  • DDR

  • is it PC133 PC100 RD DDr?

  • A 512.

  • if I dont hear back from you before I head out, you should be perfectly fine as long as your system board supports it, just watch after you put it in to make sure it counts all the RAM and the computer recognizes it

  • I am pretty sure it will clock down

  • kk thanks

  • how do you tell how many pins are on the ram? i need to buy somemore but i dont know how many pins? THANKS

  • what type of motherboard? also if you go to the crucial website it can auto detect what type you have..

  • well this pc will not boot up and i was puting new ram in it so i cant use it yet... i know its ddr this is what it says on the ram (512mb, ddr dimm,n 64wnd po123491 made by bravo. if you can help me on this thanks

  • Yo thanks for the vid but i want to ask one question. Im buying more RAM for my PC and im wondering can i keep my old RAM in there and buy a new one and they could both be in the PC at the same time, or not?

  • Typically if you have the open slots your good to go...what type of ram are you adding?
