  • If that is true Walter Disney he's freeze untill we cure is deseas, I am not sure he will like the turn of he's own dream. In that time peoples had more time to look at things, even we didnt have the magic of today, now we are more to visit Disney it take more peoples to work there to low salary and not be convince at what they are doing... I love Disney mind, not The Image of Disney became...''profitable compagny'', when it was a dream world of everything is smooth..carton's

  • The first time I go there in 1978 it bring me in ...It was a magic souvenir of mine,

I have also great videos in 87 ' the time I had my first camera 8mm. and some on those films are in beta ... those gadgets dont work anymore but i still have those . I did go in disney world untill 2001 , when i had no more enchantement to feel inside. I thought the Disney we had then is so much out of the representation, of soft and lovely waves. It look now that feary world become like a money racket.

  • This is the first record I bought as a kid. We went in '75 or 76. They had the Bicentennial parade on Main Street and my sister & I were selected to be the kids who carried the Constitution, we got commemorative medals for it. The music was played during the Electrical Water Pagent at night & I just had to have the music. So I asked around at the park & found where they were selling them. The record was slightly larger than 7" on colored vinyl housed in a clear plastic sleeve w/ insert info.

  • It also might be interesting to note that "Main Street Electrical Parade" came about because Disneyland was getting jealous of Walt Disney World and the fact that WDW was getting all of the new innovations. Disneyland was feeling like a unwanted red headed step child. So Disney came up with the Main Street Electrical Parade for California since they didn't have anything like a huge lake for the barges. So the barges were replaced with floats.

  • This is what the whole hep world would be doing Saturday night if the Nazis had won the war. This is the sixth Reich.

  • This was my first year to visit Disney ! I'm loving this. :)

  • Well done

  • There are FOUR versions of the Electrical Water Pageant.

    1. 1971 (Original)

    2. 1972-1976 (Second)

    3. 1977-1995 (Third)

    4. 1996-Present (Current)

  • man mickey was creepy back then

  • 3:44 I want one of these to take on the beach to drink rum and chase down girls.

  • Wasn't Cinderella in that parade?

  • When the pageant began in 1971, it didn't have a Turtle, Octopus, Dinosour. Those were added in the second verson of the pageant. This is a list of the foalts from 1971-1980: Sea Serpent Whale Two sea lions playing with a red ball Clam Shell opening and closing Three red hair mermaids Dolphins Three orange fish swimming amongst bubbles Sea Horses Sea King which has red rope connected to sea horses *the floats then changed to stars and stripes*
  • My bad... there was an Octopus in the pageant.

  • I was SO disappointed the last time I saw the parade. This music is integral to the event - hearing it coming before you can actually see it... Wow. The video was neat and all, but the song alone made me make this clip a favorite. Thank you!!!

  • I've wanted to go to Walt Disney World pretty much my whole life. I've been to Disneyland quite a few times because I live relatively close, but not WDW yet. This is really cool footage... I love seeing how the theme parks used to be.

  • Love "Baroque Hoedown" all versions.

This clip brings back such good memories.

I remember driving from Tampa to see Michael Iceberg perform at Disney World where he had played for a short term.Things have changed so much.Great job on capturing this footage in its innocent raw form.

  • Great. Juuuuuust great. I've heard this version on the clip: Mickey Mania, and wanted to search for it on internet. I downloaded it, but it sounded not like that version. The version I can hear here, IS the version i'm searching for. Great to hear that this version, is a rare one... :P Anyway, thanks for the great pictures and sound:D

  • my uncle got free tickets through his work as well and we all came from alabama to visit my cousins in florida.we went every year from 1972 until 1984.then we went sporadically after that.if they could bottle that feeling as a drug in the 70's i would be a junkie. i love 1970's disney world!my daughter is a 3rd generation mousekateer.my sister has this album from 1979.

  • they have this song on the disney collections cd, i have 2 of them. love this song

  • Do they have this exact version? If so what's the name of the CD?

  • Thanks Dude. Very Cool.

  • I see no Electrical Parade.

  • This is 1975, before the massive crowds and and abundance of commercialism and recorded during the daytime.

  • @julius923 Plus, the music as heard here was used only in the original 1972 parade at Disneyland. WDW never had this music. When the parade came to WDW in 1977 (and returned to DL that same year after a short hiatus), it was the music used in the parade up until 2009.

  • @disneyfan85 It may be true that WDW never used this for their parades, but they did use it for their Light show on Seven Seas Lagoon Lake at night, at least they did in 1975.

  • @disneyfan85- Actually the Disney World Electrical Water Pageant started using this music in October 1971. Disneyland's Mainstreet Electrical Parade started in June 1972, and they used the same music.

  • @disneyfan85 actually some of this musiic was in WDW's MSEP in '77. the only tracks that weern't changed for the '77 update were Cinderella,Dumbo, & Small World. when thew "To Honor America" finale was added in '79 it's music from the Water Pageant soundtrack was retained.

  • I remember driving/handling that boat

  • Man what memories. Being lucky enough to grow up here in Florida, with Orlando only an hour away, I have been to Disney easily 300+ times. Thanks for posting images of Disney when it was fun and not one giant marketing showcase.

  • I'm 13 and I live in Tampa, only an hour away and I'm sure I'll be up to 300+ times in a few years, hahaha.

I love Disney, and this is so cool =] I wish I could go back in time to see old Disney, my dad tells me stories about it all the time.

  • NOooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Not It's a small world!

  • wow!! i was there that same week.snow white is the same one in my photos!!! i want more footage!! awsome!!

  • less tacky!

  • Priceless! This brought tears to my eyes even. I lived in Florida as a child from the late 70's through early 80's and my dad would often get free tickets through his work, so this brings back magical memories. Loved the scene where the kids were with Mickey! CUTE! I loved the projector sound in the beginning & then the music - very clever.

  • Wow. O.o I've never seen any footage of Disney pre-80's (Hell I never went until 1994 at age 4) Thank's for sharing!

PS- That music rocks. Nice and bubbly feeling from that :3

  • Bill37341, did you have to drive that car or was it automated? Looks like a real handful, hope you never hit anyone.

  • Wow, I get to hear the original MSEP soundtrack once again, including the rare Chinese Dragon unit. It was great you used clips of Alice in Wonderland for the second unit music because it did serve as an Alice like unit in the parade.

  • Priceless!! Love it...thanks for sharing this classic!

  • Thanks for the video and soundtrack. The sound of the projector and its fading out is a clever special effect. Of course, the Baroque Hoedown is one of the best musical creations of all time. It's funny to see the characters in the parade kicking each other in the butt.

  • thanks for the video! I´ve visited WDW in 1975 too!

  • How excellent is it that you shared this? THANK YOU!

  • Some of the best video on youtube are home movies. Great video . I have to transfer some of my old 8mm movies. I have the video of DisneyWorld from 1971 .

  • It would be great to see it. I'll keep an eye out for it.

  • Instant fave.

  • Wow! What a cool video! Great audio editing too! You mixed the Electrical Water Pageant's Baroque Hoedown with part of The Main Street Electrical Parade's Baroque Hoedown, huh? It sounds great. You really struck some major nostalgia here in this video. Well down. You know what's interesting? That parade you showed had many of the same characters and stories you would find in the actual Main Street Electrical Parade. Cool, huh? What was the name of that parade anyone?

    The Prince was here...

  • I didn't do any audio mixing. This is a 2-sided purple record and the original recording arrangement of the Electrical Water Pageant (EWP) which was later altered and used for the Electrical Main Street Parade. I was looking for the recording for many years everywhere and only found it about a year ago. I didn't have any video of the actual EWP so I decided to use edited video of Disney reels and home video of what I think was the "Disney Character Hit Parade". Thanks for the comments.

  • So are you saying that the Dumbo's Circus piece, and everything after that was part of the original soundtrack for the Electrical Water Pageant? It sounded like the first part was all the Electrical Water Pageant. However, after the bridge between the two seconds, it really did sound like it changed to the Main Street Electrical Parade. Those sounds are unmistakable. So I'm a bit confused here. Where did you find the record? And what year was it published?

  • Yes, all of this music was the Electrical Water Pageant. I remember being there and can verify that this is the music that was used in 1975. On the water, there was no break in the music though. The break is a mix between the 2 sides of the record. The record was a 7" but played at 33 1/3 rpm. My parents bought it at a gift shop at Disney somewhere, but it was probably in the Contemporary Hotel. The year, I'll have to dig it out and find. But if I had to guess, it was 1973. (?71-74)

  • Oh, wow. That's really cool. I figured that's why the break was there. What was the name of the song that came after Alice in Wonderland? So all of those musical pieces were actually in the pageant? I wonder if this was made for Walt Disney World or Disneyland first. Remember that in 1975, the Main St. Electrical Parade had already ran for 3 years. What I heard sounds like most of the parts from the parade.

  • What time in the video?

  • The section after Alice In Wonderland that I was talking about was between 2:51 & 4:01. The sounds of what seem to be the parade, came after 4:01.

  • I was a WDW Character from 1975 - 1981, most likely I am Captain Hook in there somewhere, how can i get a copy of this please and anything else you might have shot in the mid to late 70's.

  • I was there in 1975. I know we have footage of captain hook.

  • Did it bother you that his coat was pink instead of red?

  • Really great film you have there!! :D

Thx for sending it to me!! ;)

  • Very cool movie

  • Awesome. I've never heard that version.
