when headers are purchased new, many instruct to fire engine for only a few seconds and then kill engine and then to do this several times to bake/cure paint. i believe the solvents in the paint can only take so much temperature before they either degrade or boil and cause the paint to blister. many have had good results with baking the headers in a large oven before installing. the fumes are toxic!!.... on either the engine or the oven.
@Dnaudio12 agreed- but the hig temp paint flakes off and never really dries. We tried to bake Walmart 99 cent silver and clear on there. Didn't work! hahahaha!
use high heat paint like vht or the new rustoleum 2000' crap
