  • Hi Dave. As a smoker I always carry a tobaco, rolling papers, lighter of course. I also tend to carry some coffee. My qestion is if you know some other purposes to these things, especialy coffee. Maybe some medicinal or helpfull with controling proceses in body temperature etc. Thans a lot, best lessons out there.

  • Listen folks, you get what you pay for, there are cheaper options, some of them are good ones, But your Knife is one of your KEY items in your possessions, this has been true of many Aboriginal Cultures. I would say the two most expensive (quality) items in your pack should probably be your knife, and your footwear. In my humble experience when those two elements of my gear are top quality, everything else falls into place a lot easier and the rest is usually cheap anyway.

  • Is that a Bearcat Scanner in the background? :)

  • If you have not already done so, check out the Mora Bushcraft Survival with firesteel & diamond sharpener.

  • Hi Dave....I really appreciate the very informative videos you are putting out. Is the knife on your website the same as the one in this video ? I notice it is listed for $179 and not the $100 range as mentioned in the video. Seems like the Pathfinder II would be the better option at $160.....a little less money and a heavier blade. Suggestions / comments ??? Thank You.

  • @MaretRoy That's the Habilis Trapper for 179.00 you've seen at the PF store. The Habilis Trade Knife isn't listed just yet. Dave will no doubt make a video when it's available. I'm waiting for it too brother!

  • @polemicvs ....Thank you for the info...Looking forward to the Trade Knife's introduction. I now carry a Vietnam era AF Pilot's knife and it is about time to retire it, although it has served me well. Take care and stay well Brother....

  • I agree with most, but not how you run down the Mora knife. I have a vintage Frost Mora knife that I have been abusing for 30 years, and it has never failed me. At it's price point, the Mora is the best knife for the money

  • @johnmonk66 I dont run down Mora brother heck I sell them on my web site, I just dont think they are a good ONE tool option due to the rat tail tang. They are a great quality knife for cheap for sure.

  • One of the things I love about Dave is that he is so humble. He doesn't ever claim to be the source of all knowledge he gives credit to others where credit is due and he shares what knowledge he has and continues to gain with us. Keep up the great work Dave it is very much appreciated.

  • Dave you are all that is MAN!!!

  • @ Tony 21502 If Dave said crap in a box he must have a good reason. Make sure you take your survival gear, Chinese tent etc. to Wally World and have a fun weekend. I heard they have some good china hatchets on sale.

  • Sounds like nutinfancy's "Philosophy of Use"

  • please read my post on a leather belt and give feed back

  • leather belt hone a knife or can be used as a gruate a choking devise or cut up for cordage .wraped arond a pile of brush to care back to camp. buckel can be broken down for fish hooks or scrape the inside of belt fore fire starting and if thier is now other food boil and eat it but change the water three times at least

  • Nice video we appreciate your service and info a lot! I like the blade by the way.

  • Well, unfortunately not everyone gets it. Those of us who do appreciate what you do my man. I'm always amused at the guy drowning in the ocean that argues with his resuer. Not everyone is going to have an open mind to your instruction. Thank you for your mentorship, instruction and especially these videos!!! Loving each & every one you put out...nuggets of gold can be found in each. Keep it up!

  • Dave I want a beard that changes colors like you!

  • I believe most people have trust in your knowledge. We appreciate your teaching us.

  • Survival is an always a changing condition. So should our gear be. I hope I said it right!

  • Sold!

  • How many other comparable survival instructors offer in depth (FREE) videos on youtube? Dave could go to a company like Gerber, or buck and probably get a licensed cheaply produced knife or tool if he really tried. Instead he promotes a knife that he believes in, that he uses based on what specifications he really wants in a bushcrafting tool. yeah its expensive, but i've also heard him say nice things about competitors and other options out there. Pretty classy in my opinion.

  • in my opinion, the mora knife can last but it is still restricted because of the blade size. you can only use the mora for small carving knifes and skinning and fishing, etc. it wont give you the ability to baton and many other uses a much thicker and longer blade would offer. moras are cheap and the blades are durable but you will eventually have to buy a bigger knife. why have two knifes for two different purposes, when you can have 1 that does it all.

  • You feeling ok Dave? You are looking a little thin, brother.

  • what's up with the cross necklace ?

  • How's Dave trying to make money on this? If he wanted to make big money, he would of had the knife made in China with cheap labor and cheap material and slapped the pathfinder logo on there. Instead he's giving you a quality made in USA product that he believes in and would use himself. Not to mention he's not putting a gun to your head, if you don't think it's worth it, DON'T BUY IT! Maybe a Bear Grylls gimmick product would be more for you.

  • Man...I don't like seeing negative posts directed toward a guy who is taking his own time to post tons of instructional videos on here. Yes, Dave is, im sure making money on his site and his brand name of some side merch...but that's what gives him the ability to spend weeks in a yurt and give us back something special to watch and learn on. Its good to debate things. Many intelligent debates have ended with all parties being better educated, just don't be ignorant about it.

  • @frogtown5 Very well said. People should be able to discuss and disagree with each other intelligently, not argue like children.

  • Great way to sum it up .Thanks for sharing and all you do to help pass the knowledge ...NICK

  • Picked up a roll of UN-tarred bank line for cheap. Already have the tarred version and use it all the time.

  • Dave, dave, dave! I encourage you to try to get your knife manufacturers to use flathead screws so that handle slabs can be removed very easily for spear lashing/etc.

  • that knife cost about $25 bucks to make !!!!!!!

  • @Mr1000fps Do you work for Free? I doubt seriously the guys that Water jet, Heat Treat, Grind, and Finish do either!

  • @wildernessoutfitters Spot on Dave.

  • @wildernessoutfitters This is your list and I enjoy it very much. You can make any statement you wish. You are not correct on the knive the Mora will stand the test of time every time. I will keep enjoying the list and thanks for all the valued information. Don

  • @wildernessoutfitters Anyone who wants to gripe about the cost's of a quality tool (MADE IN THE U.S.A.) should ask themselves what they think there hourly wage should be. I'd bet my last breath that they won't give a wage that compliments the cost they profess a quality tool should be in their nonhumble opinion.I for one think no AMERICAN ,with a skill, should be paid less than $25 per hour. It seems to me, that to have a QUALITY knife made, would take no less than 4 hours + materials.

  • @wildernessoutfitters

Dave, love what you do, and live by it every day. I, as a combat vet, and avid outdoorsman, I back you up in every single one of your philosophies. but, I believe you've lost track on you "common man" kick......You've replaced your $100 kit (that was just as functional) with a $2000+ kit.

Sorry, but a common man, whom works a 40 hour a week job, with a .1.13 acre lot national average) can't afford what you now call "common man". Check some averages..

  • @wildernessoutfitters u funny! i know people that work for free. they r prisoners, and they can only make licence plates :)

  • @Mr1000fps toothpaste costs less than 20 cents per tube to make and sells for roughly $3. It's called markup.

  • @Mr1000fps Ignorant comment. Do you think those Nikes you buy at $60-$100 probably weren't made in a 3rd world country sweat shop for 25 cents?!

  • @Mr1000fps Ignorant comment. Do you think the Nikes you buy for $60-$150 weren't made in a 3rd world sweat shop for 25 cents?!

  • @Mr1000fps Sounds like you should go into business making knives. Seems that you have a magic formula to make QUALITY knives for dirt cheap! Time to walk the walk instead of running your mouth @ a 1000 feet per second!

  • @Mr1000fps Then you should make one.

  • @Mr1000fps Not including labor it doesn't.

  • Nice Knife dave. looks like it would do muti-tasking. how's the blade holding out? Hope your planning on beating it up a little to test it out. --------=> spear tip.

  • Akr

  • Hey dave i watch and there great , alot of yer vidios where can I get bankline to try it out. Carl millison, an ohioan

  • Thank you, blindwit. I'm dazzled by your intellect. It's worth coming back here just to hear you call me names. Name calling is a time honored passion among people of your ilk.

  • @Kayakwinds I think you are getting some things confused. Your initial reply to me was in response to my reply to another user; however, you addressed me as though I was talking to you (that's where the little @username comes in). I replied to you with the same respect that you showed me, and I don't see anywhere where I called you any names.

Reenter Zippy1one, the original person I replied to who then proceeded to act like an asshole and I proceeded to call him one.

    Hope that clears it up.

  • @blindwit Yes, you have my apology. I did think believe that you were speaking to me.

  • @Kayakwinds Not at all, friend. I don't talk to people that way who show and reciprocate a level of respect that we *should* show others. Have a great day!

  • @Kayakwinds So unless you and Zippy1one are the same person, I believe you have made an large, but honest, mistake. If you *are* Zippy1one as well, then well... I'm just calling it how it is.

  • To your credit, you are keenly aware of what is going on. And I agree with you that it "sucks." Quite frankly, I think the truth gets shaded anytime someone is promoting products. It's that simple. In the past, Dave didn't do that. Once again, I will shout it from the rooftops that Dave is a good man. But if at least some of us are serious about these endeavors, we have to speak our minds and hope that Dave hears us.

  • One final word: I think you do outstanding work. I am sincerely a great admirer of yours. But when you start becoming a salesman for your own product, it doesn't do a thing for your credibility.

  • I'm sure the Pathfinder knife is a good one. But, as I recall, you said it was around a hundred dollars.Well you can still get a Mora for not much more than ten dollars. Is the Pathfinder knife ten times better than a Mora? I have to wonder. Many people have used Moras for many years without having to replace them. Certainly, your partner Cody likes them. But who knows..........maybe he will soon be carrying a Pathfinder knife. Like I say, it's probably a fine knife.

  • So why won't the Mora do for the long term? The only reason you have given is that that its rat tail tang could break during batoning. That is a good theory, but I have batoned the crap out of mine and it hasn't broken. Sure some rat tailed knives may break, but I haven't seen that with the Moras. Check out all of the videos of people stress testing the Moras. I don't think it is a knife that anyone is going to have to repeatedly replace because of breakage.

  • a good video lg outdoor700

  • ive always felt that for my survival gear, if its good for our military (prior service), then its for me. although nothing will replace my ka-bar, i like this knife.

thanks for everything you do for us. your helping make people not be a statistic. please keep it up.

  • I have owned many knives, hatchets, axes and gear for woodsmen. As far as I,m concerned it pays to buy good made knives and such.It doesn't pay to buy cheap crap Walmart stuff etc. .

  • Always keep an open mind when it comes to your gear.

  • Very good video. Your point was well stated.

  • Dave,

Which bank line has the best utility?

  • I'm not sure what Dave is trying to say here, but I purchased the pathfinder knife months ago and it has served me well. I have no complaints, and feel as if he needs no excuse for such a fine tool. It is espensive, but for a survival tool you can take around the world to beat up then give to your grand kids....it is well worth it. How's that for kit mentality?

  • Amen Dave, make an affordable, quality product and help keep America in the control of Americans

  • Comment removed

  • even though it's hard to keep a good edge on it over time I carry the Gerber LMF Infantry type 2, it is also a very versatile knife.

  • Dave,

If you can make the timer to do it, could you shoot a quick video on your opinion of paracord vs. bank line? I'd like to hear the pros & cons of each.

    The Trade Knife looks good!

  • @wildcatactual Sarge Faria Pathfinder school instructor did a video on paracord vs. bankline if you would like to check it out youtube.com/watch?v=-tCBILqaLFA

  • @wildcatactual You should chek out the trapping and skinning videos for the paracord vs bankline it's explained in there pretty clearly.

  • Where can I buy one?

  • @Blackhatarcher the knife will be on Dave's site as soon as we crank out the first batch.

  • The knife looked coated? Will it be uncoated carbon steel?

  • @Deriust the knife will be blued.

  • Made in USA ... hahahahah

What about japanese handmade knives ...

They have a traditions in making swords and knives

Or what about chinese handmade knifes...

Or what about italian handmade knives... and so on ... and so on....

And most of the countries have a traditions in making knives and swords long befor USA started to make knifes...

So don`t talk about high quality knifes that are made in USA

  • @koooweee yes and how about all of the cheap junk that comes out of each country? I think what Dave is trying to say is that he supports U.S. companies. plain and simple. He never said you have to agree with him. It's his opinion.

  • I appreciate you trying to "sell" a good knife...and still pointing out that there are different knives for different situations.

  • What grind options are you guys offering with the knife?

  • I agree with you Dave on the kit changing over time. A kit can also change for the enviroment. one kit for the woods, a different one for the swamp, a different one for the mountains. Im very happy to see that youre knives are handmade in the U.S.A. I know you care about quality and I respect you for that. theres another big name guy that has allowed his name to be slapped on a high production China made knife. I have zero respect for that.

  • Dave I have a question. While at the army surplus store today I saw and played with a 5 inch Ka Bar knife. To me it seemed to just fit my hand right and all of that fun stuff and it has the 90 degree knife back. The reason I did not buy it is you say you don't recommend a coated blade. Was that mainly because of use with a fire steel? or was there some other reason? because for the price I was highly impressed. 61 dollars.

  • @fruntcaster what the hell are you saying u make no sense

  • you seen this blade before Dave?

the jack pyke bushcraft knife it wont let me post links.

similar shaped blade to your new one but quite abit cheaper. been running with one for a while now and getting on well with it. keep up the good work :)

  • Dave: I thank YOU for taking the time out of your life to teach. The one thing to me is out of all the survival training one could learn.Learning wild edible is just as important as water.Because to me if I cant find meat, then there are Al way plant life to eat.

Again It is I who THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU ARE TEACHING

  • Dave that makes more sense. For me I have no income so I'm having to scrap by.So I'm having to find tools that are good quality but not out of my budget. If I may tell on my self a little, I had to pick up cans to buy the Mora.and I do hear you .and as my budget will allows me to I will upgrade my tools.Right now I'm having to live off the land.

And i must say Dave your videos have help me out a lot more than you know.I can now put food on my table.with out relining on the grocery store

  • You have to realize that the Federal Reserve Note we use as trade currency, is not a Dollar. A FRN is worth about 2% of a Dollar. . . Making Dave's hand made blade, about $2.00. Around 1910 -- a working man might earn $13.00 a month, making the knife purchase 15% of ones monthly earnings. Today, you would have to make around 670 FRN's a month to match the 15% purchase. So, indeed 100 FRN's for said knife, IS a common man price.

  • Thats a great looking knife at a very reasonable price I'm sure it will do well. I am going to work on building my own knife to try to build the skill set.

  • By the way, this bank line is called tarred seine line. You can buy it from Memphis Net and Twine. It is superior as Dave says and its made in Memphis, TN. I bought 630 feet of 900lb tarred line for about 40 dollars. It goes up to 1200lb test at a shorter footage. Also it goes down to 50lb test at some odd couple thousand feet. Plus its several strands, so 900lb can be broken down into several 150 or 300lb strands. Paracord doesn't do that as well, though.

  • Dave, At one point, you had your Murray's Beeswax from dollar general, and you said "there's no way I'm not having this in my pack"

With the theme of adjusting your kit... I'm curious why you no longer have it, and what has taken it's place.

    youtube.com/watch?v=6zqJFarFYxU

  • Another great video with sound advice as always. The new knife looks good and i like the multi use aspects of the handle. Keep up the passing of knowledge and look forward to seeing you in Florida!

  • I'm sure that $100 is a fair price for the hand made knife shown, but if you are stuck with a $30 budget do a little searching on the Gerber "Big Rock" knife ( non-serrated version). I've used one for several years now as a general purpose camping knife and it has worked well for me. Even though I could afford a more expensive knife I have no plans to replace it.

  • Dave, looking forward to the new blade hitting production. My BlindHorse Pathfinder should be delivered to my home today. I have collected knives for many years and look forward to putting it thru its paces. I appreciate the new design and your ideas put into its how it is intended to be used. I see a new purchase in my future! lol Love all the vids, and as a NASAR SAR-Tech II and EMT in rural NC, I have put alot of your info to good use! Please keep them coming!

  • I live below poverty level at the moment on about $600.00 a month but with just a bit of juggling of finances and the odd job or two I can manage to get about anything I want. It just takes a bit of effort on your part to insure that what you are trusting your health and well being to is not a cheap imitation of a quality product. I will be buying the PLSK-2 with Kydex sheath or maybe the woodcrafter at the least. On a side note, at this moment blindhorse knives seems to be down.

  • The thing that I love most about these videos is that fact that Dave, you're very humble, honest, and straight forth in bringing your skills and knowledge to the masses. I am an avid outdoorsman, have been since my boy scout days, and all of these videos just make sense. Keep sharing! I really appreciate them all! I hope to get out to your school real soon. Best regards!

  • Great words!Totally agree in what your saying.

  • People make fun of me at work for my EDC stick rule in tenths. Its practical because it fits in my carpenter pocket. I use it for counting. I use it for engineer hubs. I use with my old bubble level. They also think my hatchet is strange for grade stakes and general tomfoolery. I wish people would be more open minded to the old ways of doing things.

  • $100 is a great price for a handmade American made custom knife. I will own one.

  • Dave, Im real excited to get my hands on your new design. The roach belly is great for all round utility, so naturally Im glad your sticking with the style. Plus that is one handsome price mark. Another great vid, keep it up. Thanks

  • Just an FYI guys, I am relatively sure that once your channel receives "x" number of hits, YouTube or Google that is, puts those commercials in place. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that is the case.

  • great words dave, but didnt care for the communist obama commercial imbedded in your vid.

  • hey dave just wanted to say i like the new knife !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm a knife nut and i like the look of the new one. i like that it has the old look on a new knife .... keep up the great work i like all the videos!!!!!!!!! be save out on the road . thanks for ur time ( timberhawkrumer)

  • do you also make a left handed knife so the divet is on the reverser side so the blade isnt towards the left handed operator?

  • @echoman101 hey this is Andy Beard from Habilis. Since this is just ramping up we have any concrete answers yet, but I don't see a left hand socket being a problem. We have done it on several of our knives for customers. Thanks

  • @MrChino303 it is Habilis Bushtools

  • Dave, I started this video & there was an advert? I hope you haven't done a deal with YouTube. If there is any more, ill be UN-subscribing. Keep PF for the, "common man"

  • Thanks for the video

  • thats a really good looking knife, one of my personal faves is a marbles woodcraft

  • Carlisle said "Not to know what has gone on before you is as to remain a child" Destined to make the same mistakes over and over.

  • Anybody catch who the maker was..... Habulus ???? I'd like to see Dave Canterbury and Bear Grills in a in an mma bout. Bear could use that pos Gerber to keep the swelling down.

  • @MrChino303 habilis bushtools is the maker. I am actually part of the team. If I am not mistaken I blued and sharpened that knife myself.

  • @TheLongburns Cool thanks thanks.,... Looks like a great blade.

  • @TheLongburns If you work for habilis...the trapper and bush tool is $100 more expensive than this knife, they are 1/16 thicker, what else is different, why the $100 price difference????

  • @gater796 Well gator as you said the material is thicker. Also the knives come with more complex sheaths than the trade knife will have. The bushtool with a multi-position leather, and the trapper with a custom kydex. The 1/8 is easier to work with and eats up less materials. It also lacks some of the features of the other knives. No finger churl, ferro rod notch, front anvil. But this knife isn't designed or intended to have them. I hope I did an OK job of answering you. If not shoot me a msg.

  • @TheLongburns Thanks for the response, that pretty much answered it, I looked at the all the pics again and the bushtool looks very similar to a knife Dave carried on Dual Survior Eating Dust when they were on the desert salt flats...

  • @gater796 It is the knife he was carrying. He has carried it twice on the show. The other time was when they ate the dog food and burned the tire.

  • Have you ever tired or succeeded in making your own knife Dave?

Will you ever sell those knifes with the orange and black combo besides the brown and black?

    Thanks, Jesse

  • I always wondered why bankline didnt get more attention,

  • There is much wisdom in these words if you buy super duper ultra survival knife and only use that knife when Mr. Fate comes and takes that away from you, you'll think you're SOL. If you use different knives and experience these tools you will be more prepared to improvise and adapt.

  • Great stuff Dave :)

Personally I would like to see a small disclaimer saying this is a partial advertisement. You offer knowledge first and foremost, but you also offer your product that you endorse. I like the price vs benefit comparison.

I wish you much success, and thanks for your honesty and partition of knowledge.

    :)

    :P

  • Hey Dave I have a sweet idea for your slingbow and 3 pice arrow's!!!

You can put it all in a hand gun hard case!

It's small doesn't take up much room. And it can go in ur car or a backpack. And keep it all safe

    And in one spot!

Let me know if you like the idea or not.

I think I'm going to do this. (:

  • Thank you Dave, About time someone talks about long term strategies. Long term is exactly why I bought the PLSK1. Keep it coming :)

  • Hi Dave. One of the reasons I enjoy watching your videos is the fact that you don't demand everyone follows your viewpoint. You tell people to make their own mind up. It's all about choices, and we are responsible for the choices we make. Thanks, man. You are definitely a man to walk the trails with.

  • I for one am glad Dave takes the time to talk about gear and offer items for sale on his site. If he didn't talk about this stuff, we'd all be bugging him asking where we could get it anyways :-)

  • i like that 5 inch blade. 4-5 inches ive found tends to be the best length for a multipurpose knife. as a kid i carried a ka-bar for a hunting knife and it was just a little too long for things like skinning a deer. too much blade to be practical in a smaller space.

  • Will this thing kill a bear?

  • I can't believe how many people missed the point of Dave's video. Go your own way, do what's right for you. You might find a mower blade fashioned into a machete is the best solution for you. Dave is sharing what he learns through is own personal growth. He's also offering items to us that meet his needs, which I think is damn cool. No one is forcing you to buy anything. I think it's damn smart to take a passion in life and use it to bring home some bacon. Dave shares plenty freely.

  • It's very ironic that your making this video, just last night I said to myself after watching you for the last 2months I wanted to switch up my gear! So I've been caring a Dueter 65+10 and last night I purchased a Lrg Alice Pack and a week ago I purchased my first wool blanket. I always thought everything had to be light as possible, but you sometimes comprise warmth and durability with these light weight and very pricey items! Great Vid Dave and I hope to be apart of your class very soon

  • A couple things: 1) If you go on bladeforums you won't hardly find a comparable knife for $100, so anyone that says it's expensive hasn't looked into custom pricing. It's a good price for a knife of this size. Another thing, he's not making the knife, he's having someone else make it, which adds to cost for both parties involved (Dave and the knife maker)... 2) Dave gives knowledge freely on a daily basis. The videos on YT alone are priceless for their knowledge. Get some perspective people

  • thats a pretty good lookin knife .i think its priced about right at 100 bucks if its a good knife.couldnt stand that other one though man it was ugly .be nice if the handle color wasnt gonna be different on the production model.

  • is polycord good or not?

  • @socaldualsport. He could charge you for watching the vids here... The school is his source of income and he id giving all the vids. He has a wife and child to feed.. Dave thanks for all the great vids!

  • @jeroenie16 Yes. What's your point. I'm glad Dave is cashing in. It's called business. :)

  • I second that dullbrass, Dave, keep on keepin on, thanks for all your hard work.

  • Videos like this is why you are the self-reliance expert and instructor. Thanks for all your had work and wisdom...keep on doing your thing Dave!

  • I find that gut hooks get in the way and weaken one of the most important parts of a knife and that is the spine. If you use a simple 2 finger method on either side of the blade as you are cutting the chest and belly cavity works well. Each to their own though, if gut hooks work for you, there are many knives out there with them. Most experienced bush crafters shy away from gut hooks, saw backs and serrated knives because experience and knowledge always trumps gadgets IMHO.

  • Hey Dave why dont I see any knifes with a gut hook?

  • Dave, some of the best advice you have given and do give is to use what works for YOU. A Mora may work for a person for 25 years and yet another individual may feel they have to buy the greatest and best each year and yet others feel they need a custom piece of gear. We are all individuals with our own circumstances in life. I believe in Knowledge and Experience trumps gear almost every time. For ME, simple is golden. Good job explaining it and thank you for your videos.

  • I can't believe I had to watch an obama commercial at the start of this video.

  • Thanks Dave, I waste more money on coffee and snacks than that and I do not have retirement to fall back on. I will buy one of your knives in a month or so. Thanks again for your highly usable skills videos!

  • Great looking knife! I think the price is right where it should be.

  • you knows all and sees all and tells all Dave, don't be modest

  • $100?! that is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! are you going to be selling the new knife on your website?

  • I use the scout and a folding saw. AH'Murica!

  • Comment removed

  • What purpose does your crucifix serve besides a religous object.

  • Reading through the comments, I really have to say that some people are pretty darn ignorant. How can you honestly critisize the price of his new knife that you haven't had in your hands yet? 100 Dollars for a custom made knife of this type is too much?! I bet the people that complain the most here have got the latest iPhone and stuff.

Have some respect for the man and his work and over 500 FREE videos and grant him the few bucks he'll make on a knife for Christ's sake . .

  • @dullbrass here here mate totally agree could not have said it better

  • @Rendar600 good one mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dullbrass ya, Dave is one of the best. so you will get your moneys worth.

text that to so and so

  • @dullbrass I agree. I have been pricing knives for the past year, no lie. You can't find a good handmade knife for under 150. If you do, it most likely is reused file steal or leaf spring.

  • @dullbrass This is a great comment bro and I stand behind you 10 fold and Dave your a great asset to all hikers, preppers, campers, LEO/military and the COMMON MAN! Thankyou sir

  • @dullbrass We all sub to this channel, we all watch the ads and that makes him $money$ so don't say it's "free" vids.

  • @Zippy1one

How much are you paying to watch?

  • @bichettereds I pay with my time. The 10 or 15 seconds that I sit through an ad, that I could be watching or doing something else.

  • @Zippy1one They are still free videos. You aren't required to spend money or even click on ads. If you don't like the format of the videos, go find another source. It's really that simple. His time isn't free either, and your time isn't worth more to him than yours is (and likewise his time isn't worth more than yours to you). Bitching to bitch doesn't fix a damned thing. Just move on.

  • @blindwit Bitching? I don't think I'm bitching. I'm just expanding the debate. Surely we don't have a place to comment just in order to heap mindless praise on Dave. I have raised some points that I think deserve consideration. Neither you nor anyone else has to agree with either me or Dave. I think Dave is doing a lot of great things. But I suspect he has starting running with some slick promotion people who may have swayed Dave from the Pathfinder path. You will probably disagree.

  • @Kayakwinds Complaining about the guy making a few bucks off of some ads that you don't even have to click is bitching, yes. The topic of ads are not what the video is about, so you aren't "expanding the debate" but "bitching about unrelated topics." Similar to people seeing a video of a cat playing with bag and bringing up religion.

If you have a problem with the content of the video, by all means speak up... If you have a problem with the ads, take it up with him directly in a DM. As for him

  • @blindwit I swear blindwit, you must be on Dave's payroll or hoping to get on it. To address your comment, I am in fact speaking up. And the general thrust of my original missive concerned the the Mora knife. The conversation seems to have spun off in a variety of directions. And it's clear I have ruffled some feathers. That's probably healthy.

  • @Kayakwinds So because I point out that his way of life isn't about giving things out for free I'm assumed to be "on his payroll" or "hoping to be?" The Mora knife isn't even one that he regularly carries anymore. He's been asked about it time and again and he's m
