@BeaglesRuleTheRoost... Grant Hill is the greatest SF to ever play the game! He would've reigned after Jordan if he wouldn't have gotten hurt!... I hear people talk about the greatest players to ever play the game, but I never hear anyone say Grant Hill... It pisses me off cause Grant Hill was/ is nice as hell!!! He should should be inducted into the hall of fame just for his accomplishments prior to his injury & for being such a great competitor. @ his age now, he is still giving em Hell
@BeaglesRuleTheRoost... Grant Hill used to give it to Jordan before his injury! He did everybody in. The players who were considered to be the best in the NBA, all felt his wrath! From Scottie Pippen to Reggie Miller to Karl Malone... He posterized alot of people! He had a sick crossover and he would dunk on you quick! He is a legend! I'm a Kentucky fan. He is the only Duke player I can honestly say I ever liked & they beat us! (Some BS). Niggaz should look @ some of his highlights!
Grant Hill would have surpassed Jordan? Come on fam...don't disrespect the man. Grant Hill would have been great...but why even say something like that.
im from detroit and back in the 90's i LOVED grant hill. he was my absolute fav player and not only that but a great guy. he had so much game and i hated it when he left det. i always wanted to play like him. he was the perfect face for the league besides mike.

Count how many times this guy got hooked up from Lindsey Hunter for easy baskets. In addition, the defense is not double teaming him. Look at Washington's defense. Everyone on the Wizards are so apathetic, no help defense what so ever. If Kobe played against that defense, he could manage 100+ points. Grant Hill's career high against single coverage is 46 while Kobe's career high is 81 with a lot of double coverage from the defense. Kobe > Grant Hill any day.
@apoc601 wrong defense on the 90's is a lot tougher than todays. as you can see no charge lane. you can hand check a player you can close line a player and just being a foul. and if grant hill never got injured he is a triple double machine rebounds, assist and can score. kobe can score but assist and rebounds? nah! he just start learning to pass after 06 season.lol
@jervy007 I'm not down with what you said about Kobe, he was already a good passer earlier but Kwame Brown, Chris Mihm and Smush Parker aren't actually gonna finish the job anytime soon
@jervy007 Yeah but when he had no teammates he had the ball in his hands pretty much all the time, now he has guys that can make plays without needing him to give the assist everytime down the court too
Rebounding is different, I have a sense he shoulda rebounded better with Brown and Odom/Mihm than with Pau and Bynum since the twin towers eat up more boards than Odom (by that time he was around 7 per game) Mihm and Brown
Kobe's combined avg B4 the defensive rules changed
561 games - 21.77 ppg on 42.2 FG%
Kobe's combined avg after the defensive rules changed
300+ games - 31.75 ppg on 46.4 FG%
The # of wing players in the Top 10 in scoring jumped from 3 to 11 & had a 23% INCREASE in scoring & a 4% INCREASE in FG% after the change. The MAJORITY of kobe's offensive explosions occurred AFTER the change, and his BEST scoring season was the 1st year of the new rules.
WOW!! amazing.. at 5:05 They tried to double team him in defense but still he left them behind with that 2 step of his which is way fast and skilled. Grant has been my favorite basketball player since i was a kid and still is. 4REVER HILL!
yo vi este partido, hill nunca se destacó por meter muchisimos puntos en los partidos, era mas un jugador de hacer muchas estadisticas de equipo, para mi es el mejor jugador que he visto
Grant Hill ,at least ,could have been the best small forward.this man had 2 much talent that it was almost scary what he cld hav become had it not been 4 injuries and definitely he wld hav won a championship in his prime!I seriously belv dat
Agreed. He was a second banana to no one. Just like Scottie Pippen, only better. If he didn't get his ankle all messed up we'd be talking about him as one of the great players ever. A total package and a game changer, and he could do it without shooting the ball constantly (read Bryant, Kobe).
@75samuel75 then you probably don't think mike is a great player because he took a lot of shots. or how about bill russell because he was a terrible FT shooter. is jason kidd not going to be remembered because of a poor shooting touch.
@fnyman14 i dont think thats what hes saying, hes just saying grant was great in his prime and had no real weakness in his game, nobody can dispute MJ was the greatest or bill russell, and Jason Kidd doesnt have a poor shooting touch he's 5th all time in 3's. Grant Hill and J-Kidd class of '94 and Grant is nothing but class
he just has a way more complete game than kobe. very consistent when he was not ridden by those bad injuries. his efficiency reminds me of mj a lot, even though there are major differences in their games. this guy just know how to play, never hog the ball like lebron, athletic with efficient dribbling skill and good read about the game. i personally think he is a better player than lebron or kobe.
@stepdi I love Grant Hill, but he never had the jumper. Grant became a better shooter, but Jordan was a better shooter in general and so for that reason alone, Grant couldn't have been better than Jordan. In the playoffs, teams packed the paint and sagged off him, making him shoot to beat them.
grant hill is definitely a great player and he, nash and kidd are the very few players now that i really respect. but if you put jordan career at the same age next to grant hill the comparison becomes very obvious. jordan was a monster at his young age in every category. even his ball handling skill and explosiveness was absolutely above a prime grant hill. not to mention his all around scoring and defensive skill. it is much more than just jumpshot.
trust me just trust me if he was healthy for all 4 years that him an tmac were together in orlando they would have definitely gotten out of the first round
As great as Grant was, he never had a reliable shot that he could consistantly hit a midrange jumper
