  • The guitar is nice. Too much vibrato on the voice for me tho. If you want to do a cover of Neil Young, you gotta sound like Neil Young.

  • you got a good voice great cover..

  • Wow, never saw this before. Seems quite appropriate though as Nils played on Neil's "After The Goldrush" album, something many people don't know to this day!

  • I was a huge fan of Grin in the 70's.

  • @MrCleanandWhite Who are you saying sucks, dude?

  • That's a really good cover of the song, but the best cover version I've heard was by Crosby Stills and Nash the other night at their concert in the 02 Arena in Dublin the other night.

  • Would like to see "Nils Sings Grin".

See What Love Can Do (aka Son, I Think You're Lost, Boy) is the best emo song, of any decade.

The double lead puts in the shade anything done by the Allman Brothers, George and Paul, and the session guitar player for Reelin' in the Years.

I think I have it on vinyl in my sister's garage,

Anybody got it in on the Tuibe the meantime.

It was from Grin's first album (1971).

We grew up in Montgomery County and are all longtime Grin fans.

  • Neil Young is great but I actually love this version the best.

  • no good. Sorry.

  • Really nice version. I didn't know he did an album of Neil Young covers.

  • Dude, love the rendition! great tone from the Martin! Id this tuned down a whole step? Awesome!

  • Very nice..

  • i never dreamed I would enjoy anyone doing a Neil Young cover, but I really like your version Alot!

  • Listen to his cover of Danny Whitten's "I Don't Want to Talk About It." Nils wrote the second set of lyrics; let Danny have sole credit. Guys like that are rare. Ask Frank Zappa. "These guys lay down a couple of chords, and they want half the action." And what about Mike Love -- the Beach Boy who "took" Susan Aceveda -- wanting writing credit on Pet Sounds. How did Tony Asher put it in open court: "Mike Love's sole contribution to Pet Sounds was one ooh, and maybe one ahh."

  • great song no matter who does it. i like this one though. great work Nils

  • the best tribute i've ever heard! great job nils!!!

  • Man - how lucky are you! I thought I was cool 'cause my Mum took me to see Rick Wakemane do "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" when I was about 10 - he had 34 keyboards and 96 key boarda (approximately).

  • I was in San Francisco and saw Rick at the now defunct Cow Palace. I thought I was hipper than hip, wore my best patched jeans and came back with a head ache that sent me reeling ...pride cometh before a fall

  • thanks jeff

  • dutton7 that's hill fucking arious. i guess i deserved it as my writing wasn't so succinct and left too much mystery. i actually meant i wondered who buffy was married to. (any buffs out there?) they should be a threesome. maybe even a 4some. neilistic

  • This is great, I am big fan of Neil and Nils!

  • Me too!

  • nils is awesome, i uploaded black books xD

  • so is nils married to buffy st marie or is it jack nitzche? can't remelmber

  • I think he's married to Jack.

  • @dhutton7 arf!

  • Jack Nitzche was at one point. he's been long dead for a few years now.

  • Fantastic work by The Great Lofgren. Always a pleasure hear him. Guitar work is amazing and his unique voice makes it shine even more.

  • Nice Job! Excellent! KUDOS & *****

  • Nils is the man!

  • Nice!!!

  • Awesome. Thanks for the post!

  • Great job in Tampa Nil's - your recovery has been amazing

  • the whole CD has to be super, I guess. A humble guy with a lot of talent.
