  • Zendrive won

  • Had a Zendrive for a while - it kind of got on my nerves after a while. Zendrive can mash the notes up a little sometimes and struggled with its voicing/tone controls. Fishbone, seems a little more open than the Zen. I'm also hearing good things about the Providence Stampede. However, Jesse Hoff at Lazy J has just built me a great O/D pedal (Cruiser) so I am diggin' that at the moment.

  • thanks for you vid, I think you should do more double notes instead of all single notes so that we can hear how the overdrive reacts

  • Thanks again for another demo. It certainly has confirmed that the Zendrive is the pedal I'm looking for. God bless!

  • i think the fishbone has a rounder, creamier sound (more mids). in direct comparison, the zendrive sounds more open, but a little hollow...

  • hi there! have you tried the mosferatu pedal?

  • I like how you say the name of each pedal before playing through it. That way I can listen without having to watch the video to see which pedal is on

  • you r 1 bad mutha!!

  • IMHO, Fishbone wins

  • dude, i just like the way you get into it. I teach music and drama both and its just amazing how some people would rather practise endlessly - but timidly and miss out on the simple boons and unexpected technical boosts of getting truly physically and emotionally involved. Embracing the physical and emotionale role equals expanding your technique without your focusing on it and makes you real without trying for it, cheers man.

  • i agree he is so musical with his playing and he is a preety good guitarist as farr as technicle skill

  • I think both sound great, I find myself leaning toward Fishbone (more defined sounds...especially in mid/highs). That said the Zendrive does sound pretty filthy down low!

  • I cant find any info on the Fishbone or where to buy it.

  • TEACH ME SOME OF THAT IN OUR LESSONS!!! wooo!

    - jorel corpus 433208

  • The Zendrive sounds better on the lower notes. It just has this mojo that's hard to describe.

  • agreed

  • zendrive hands down.

  • nice tones!

  • nice A/B demo.

I like the Fishbone-it's got lots of warmth and natural compression.Ah yes,the eternal quest for tone.Definitely a "guitar thing".

  • this guy auditioned me when i went to berklee. great guy, great player, and thanks for the scholarship.

  • .The fishbone rules!......More presence

  • So they decided to make a zendrive 2? whats up with that?

    Nice chops there thadd

  • The Zendrive 2 has been around for a while now. It's basically the same as the Zendrive but is tube driven (12AX7).

  • nice chops!!

  • great tone man, I like your style.

  • I think the Zendrive is a bit "fatter"...I like them both, but at 3:50 he plays pretty much the same lick with both pedals and there is where I hear a bit of a fatter tone with the Zendrive.

  • The Zendrive has more of the Robben Ford sound, if you ask me. But I like the Fishbone just as well, with its slightly lower midrange peak. Both are very cool. Thanks for the demo, and cool playing outside the box.

  • I love fishbone's sound

  • Fishbone....I like it.
