Esta es mi cancion favorita Yo vine almundo el mismo ano que el compositorJose Maria la Calle murio y por primera vez la escuche cuando tenia dos anos y nunca se me olvido; gracias Sr: LaCalle.

Efectivamente, el autor de esta canción no es Ennio Morricone, el solo realizó este precioso arreglo orquestal para la película "Erase una vez en America". El autor de esta canción fué el clarinetista y director de orquesta español José María Lacalle (1860-1937), Hay mucha confusión al respecto y mucha gente la atribuye erróneamente a Morricone a raiz de esta película. Amapola fué compuesta por Lacalle en el año 1924. Hay versiones maravillosas por los tenores Fleta, Kraus, Domingo y Carreras.
