Take those frequencies you showed at the end and cut it @ 1/2 wave so each side is 1/4 wave. you need 4.5" each side for 650mhz. 6.5" is too long. Good work on blocking the short and align all elements vertically.

It's true that the antenna doesn't 8 whiskers to work. I built one with only four and it catches signal too.

@amazingdany depends on how far you are away from the transmitters 8 will pick up weaker signals than 4
