@MrAnimeGuru there is a pump that is circulating water, there is a valve in the circuit waiting to open. this valve opens when the boost pressure gets to a certain level. For us when it is getting to 110 or so on our bottom stage it starts to open the valve. That valve then directs the water thru nozzles spraying into the turbo plumbing and head. We use 6-7 qts on a run.
@WMH435 the motor was just put together so, no fuel pressure in the lines. And on top of that is is so decompressed to allow for high boost pressure during runs it doesn't want to start on fuel anyway. Basically what you saw was it being ethered until we got fuel to the pump and at that point you saw the smoke. Even today they take a can of ether to start on a 90 degree day.
chance encounter is the name, and first run was good. the video is on my channel and its the hubbard pass. got 2nd so we were happy. You guys have a pretty good running superfarm. I have seen it run at Tomah I believe.
the block came from an agriculture ih 5288, the crank is a stock one bought through a case-ih dealer. Hypermax made the pistons, sleeves, rods, head, and valve train. the parts are all stock size just heavier and stronger. added 4 turbos, steel girdle to the bottom of the block for strength, aftermarket oiling system and water injection.
the rear end is a 706 rear end, machined and needled, with a aftermarket transmission dropped in.
@mrceleb2006 NO. Engine is made by International Harvester (CaseIH) and is a 436 cu. in. 6-cylinder in-line, 4-stroke diesel that is normaly used in their standard agricultural tractors of about this size...Also used in International mid-range (2-ton) trucks.

how much to build one of these things
SANTACRUZDRIVER8 1 year ago
@SANTACRUZDRIVER8 They can cost anywhere from $80-150,000. Just depends on how much you buy new and how much you can do yourself.

It look like it did not want to start it might be the fuel pump or it was just a cold motor it just look it might be the pump

I see big turbo and exhaust seems to exit on other side of engine?
Love that exhaust manifold, what engine type is this based on?
