Galaxy S II a 4G phone? Are you kidding? It's an HSPA+ phone, nothing more. That's so stupid that HSPA+ is considered as 4G in the US, it's just an evolution of HSPA which is 3G!
Also 3G networks (in which I include HSPA+ considered 4G in the US), are far from being able to really take advantage of HSPA+ speed because of the way they work. So having a HSPA+ phone makes little difference compared to a HSPA phone in practice. HSPA+ 4G is just pure bullshit marketing, nothing more.

All are at least HSPA+ but sorry HSPA+ is not 4G except for those marketing guys. The only real 4G Samsung Galaxy S II is indeed the Skyrocket or the Galaxy S II LTE internationally. 4G LTE is not only about speed it's a major evolution in the way the network work, unlike HSPA+ which is only an evolution of HSPA and 3G.
@iFrodoFr The Skyrocket is a variant of the original Galaxy S2 series and there is roughly not much difference in the price tags. If this video is enough to fool you into buying a Galaxy S2 (non LTE version) even though you wanted an LTE version, thats just plain sad man. When I buy a smartphone, I do plenty of research before I do, which is probably the smartest thing to do.
Since the Skyrocket is also marketed under the umbrella term/model Galaxy S2 I dont see why they shouldn't advertise 4G.

@RomeKIL Correct, it takes double the time with 3G, luckily it does not take very long anyways so, half the speed for $20 is not really worth it. Also the area I am in is is very high for 3G, and very low for 4G.

He tried to sell me a $100 Samsung phone for $800, it was no contract so no data plain required, great guy. @fufnk For photos and videos, there are several applications for Bluetooth as well as applications such as Bump. You can't send copyrighted music; that wouldn't be legal and Apple wouldn't want to do it (not in the least because of iTunes). For apps, you just download from the App Store that everyone has. Sending them over Bluetooth makes no sense.
There's also this thing called 'email'... don't know if you've heard of it.

@fufnk No, I meant applications such as Skyfire. I've never run into a website I couldn't access that (1) I actually WANTED to access (not just some random site someone told me to go one just because it was Flash-only) and (2) didn't have an application equivalent.

About multitasking: iOS has fake multitasking - not real one like mac/win/linux/android it just suspend programs in the background

It has mulitaskig like windows 3.11 or 95 and 98 but much worse...

@fufnk You actually can listen to music, surf the web, and download multiple applications at the same time. I can't say for the Bluetooth because that would vary by app.
I wouldn't want to let a game like Infinity Blade or Rainbow 6 run in the background; that would destroy the battery. iOS's version makes a lot more sense.

Why boast about 4G(LTE, WiMAX, or HSPA+. Real 4G is either LTE Advanced or WiMAX Advanced) when the phone itself can't outsell the iPhone and even the Intensity II which is also made by Samsung. According to NPD, iPhone 4 was leading in Q2, when the SII was launched. In Q3, it's still leading, and the SII is not on the Top 5, and even the 3Gs was #2 for Q2 and Q3, followed by EVO 4G, Droid 3, and Intensity II in that order. With that in mind, it's hard to see why it would be the Next Big Thing
There is no 4g on the iPhone 4 or 4s. No version of the iPhone has ever had 4g. You need a special lte, wimax, or hspa+ chip for these speeds and iPhones don't have them. The iPhone 5 will probably have 4g, but that'll have to wait for summer (or, gulp... fall)
@DarrisTan Erm, no, I don't. It's a known issue with this phone. When I had the iPhone 4 it always had full wifi connection. I have a 20mb/s connection, so it's not a fault at my end.
Also, reading through the comments here is hilarious... I have a Droid X and an iPhone 4S and love both equally. They have their share of flaws and benefits, but it's up to what you need from a phone, not what's "trendy" like everyone seems to think. As an android user, I can tell you the iPhone isn't just junk. As a matter of fact, the 4S is ahead of all of the competition minus 4G connectivity (processor, gpu, camera, etc.) so it's a great phone. The S2 is amazing as well. It's preference...
The reason people choose apple phones is because its a trend. A trend doesnt get you 4g speeds when you need it. We are living in a time where most people just want things to be done quick. So thats why they made the galaxy s2. But some people think that its just another samsung phone and its a peice of junk and that they think a iphone is the only phone out there that is good. That is wrong there are far more phones that are so much better than a iphone.
@MrChubbyDinosaur I didn't go from my Droid X to my 4S because it was "trendy." Many will, but the intelligent of us know what really matters. I have 70 gigs of music, so the 64GB storage was worth more to me than 4G (plus I'm at college and have constant wifi anyway). The battery life is another important thing to me, and I'm getting that from my 4S. It's all what you need. I love the S2, but I get more I need out of my iPhone. Nothing is better or worse, it's what you need to accomplish tasks.

...this phone is really amazing..but my phone is now defective since last tuesday morning...i did a hard reset right, and then it got stuck in the resetting process...its just displaying the Galaxy S2 logo and won't turn back on...i tried taking the battery out and everything, my phone is now bricked yo...i bought it from an online store in California called Addicted to Phones dot com..around July 21st. smh. they better send me a new one or something. i miss my phone man. psh...ima tell samsung

@romahnae - have you tried 3 button mode? Take out battery, than turn on the phone with 3 buttons - press volume up + main (home) button + power on button at the same time.
It should take you to the phone recovery mode.

Galaxy S II a 4G phone? Are you kidding? It's an HSPA+ phone, nothing more. That's so stupid that HSPA+ is considered as 4G in the US, it's just an evolution of HSPA which is 3G!
Also 3G networks (in which I include HSPA+ considered 4G in the US), are far from being able to really take advantage of HSPA+ speed because of the way they work. So having a HSPA+ phone makes little difference compared to a HSPA phone in practice. HSPA+ 4G is just pure bullshit marketing, nothing more.

@XDKX101 Sorry, but this video doesn't specifically mention Galaxy S II Skyrocket, but just says Galaxy S II letting the viewer thinking all Galaxy S II are 4G.
All are at least HSPA+ but sorry HSPA+ is not 4G except for those marketing guys. The only real 4G Samsung Galaxy S II is indeed the Skyrocket or the Galaxy S II LTE internationally. 4G LTE is not only about speed it's a major evolution in the way the network work, unlike HSPA+ which is only an evolution of HSPA and 3G.

@iFrodoFr The Skyrocket is a variant of the original Galaxy S2 series and there is roughly not much difference in the price tags. If this video is enough to fool you into buying a Galaxy S2 (non LTE version) even though you wanted an LTE version, thats just plain sad man. When I buy a smartphone, I do plenty of research before I do, which is probably the smartest thing to do.
Since the Skyrocket is also marketed under the umbrella term/model Galaxy S2 I dont see why they shouldn't advertise 4G.

I had a Samsung phone once, I hit it with a hammer, and because of my warranty with TMobile I got a Nokia!
Also, 3G is better. So think about this, you want to pay an extra $20 a month so instead of waiting 2 seconds, you only have to wait one?
Also I went to places like BestBuy, At&T, and TMobile, and asked them if they preferred Samsung, or Nokia. 19 people said they preferred Nokia, and 1 said they preferred Samsung. So that means 95% of cell phone experts would not recommend a Samsung.

@RomeKIL Correct, it takes double the time with 3G, luckily it does not take very long anyways so, half the speed for $20 is not really worth it. Also the area I am in is is very high for 3G, and very low for 4G.
I was also out of characters so I really meant "the people that work at" ATT, TMOBILE, BEST BUY. But don;t you think 1 out of 20 is low, when you are talking out people that get to play with all types of phones all day long?
Also, I love my Nokia, wish I bought it in the first place!

But they went out and bought the iPhone 4 because they did not want to get 4G, for an extra $20. And no, they are not poor, in fact they have three kids, and they go to a private school which cost $30,000 a year, that is $390,000 for them to go to school. Most people go public, which is free. So don't call them poor, as that is only K - 12.

He tried to sell me a $100 Samsung phone for $800, it was no contract so no data plain required, great guy. Went to TMobile, and guess what, $80 for a Nokia, at first I was going to get the Samsung anyways because it was cheaper, but the guy gave me an extreme warning before I bought. Bought a nokia, and it works great. BTW, yes, I have two phones, this one was for my friend, as a Christmas gift.

@fufnk For photos and videos, there are several applications for Bluetooth as well as applications such as Bump. You can't send copyrighted music; that wouldn't be legal and Apple wouldn't want to do it (not in the least because of iTunes). For apps, you just download from the App Store that everyone has. Sending them over Bluetooth makes no sense.
There's also this thing called 'email'... don't know if you've heard of it.
Learn how to spell 'obsolete'.
And yes, there is multitasking.

@fufnk No, I meant applications such as Skyfire. I've never run into a website I couldn't access that (1) I actually WANTED to access (not just some random site someone told me to go one just because it was Flash-only) and (2) didn't have an application equivalent.
The screen isn't small at all. Samsung and the other manufacturers are just trying to brainwash you into thinking that even though 3.5" was perfectly fine a few months ago.

About multitasking: iOS has fake multitasking - not real one like mac/win/linux/android it just suspend programs in the background

It has mulitaskig like windows 3.11 or 95 and 98 but much worse...

@fufnk You actually can listen to music, surf the web, and download multiple applications at the same time. I can't say for the Bluetooth because that would vary by app.
I wouldn't want to let a game like Infinity Blade or Rainbow 6 run in the background; that would destroy the battery. iOS's version makes a lot more sense.

Why boast about 4G(LTE, WiMAX, or HSPA+. Real 4G is either LTE Advanced or WiMAX Advanced) when the phone itself can't outsell the iPhone and even the Intensity II which is also made by Samsung. According to NPD, iPhone 4 was leading in Q2, when the SII was launched. In Q3, it's still leading, and the SII is not on the Top 5, and even the 3Gs was #2 for Q2 and Q3, followed by EVO 4G, Droid 3, and Intensity II in that order. With that in mind, it's hard to see why it would be the Next Big Thing

There is no 4g on the iPhone 4 or 4s. No version of the iPhone has ever had 4g. You need a special lte, wimax, or hspa+ chip for these speeds and iPhones don't have them. The iPhone 5 will probably have 4g, but that'll have to wait for summer (or, gulp... fall)

Also, reading through the comments here is hilarious... I have a Droid X and an iPhone 4S and love both equally. They have their share of flaws and benefits, but it's up to what you need from a phone, not what's "trendy" like everyone seems to think. As an android user, I can tell you the iPhone isn't just junk. As a matter of fact, the 4S is ahead of all of the competition minus 4G connectivity (processor, gpu, camera, etc.) so it's a great phone. The S2 is amazing as well. It's preference...

The reason people choose apple phones is because its a trend. A trend doesnt get you 4g speeds when you need it. We are living in a time where most people just want things to be done quick. So thats why they made the galaxy s2. But some people think that its just another samsung phone and its a peice of junk and that they think a iphone is the only phone out there that is good. @MrChubbyDinosaur I didn't go from my Droid X to my 4S because it was "trendy." Many will, but the intelligent of us know what really matters. I have 70 gigs of music, so the 64GB storage was worth more to me than 4G (plus I'm at college and have constant wifi anyway). The battery life is another important thing to me, and I'm getting that from my 4S. It's all what you need. I love the S2, but I get more I need out of my iPhone. Nothing is better or worse, it's what you need to accomplish tasks.
