when i connect my iphone to laptop (dell having windows XP) it just shows that a new device is connected by it doesn't show any folder in my computer or anything.

@Reinturtle They change the whole file system often. You should see some files, but the names might be different. Just go through them and find your pictures.

@TheInvaderZo Yes, every iPod and iPhone comes with it's appropreate sync cable. The iPhone also has a charger with it.

@iCoKeDaCoLa unplug the iphone, then unlock the phone , making it show your homescreen with the apps and stuff, put it back in the computer with it unlocked, look in the folder again

I'd already spent several hours scouring Apple & Windows sources online, then various blogs - some trying to sell software or iPhone apps to convert the files in my Pictures file labled "iPod Photo Cache" which were in ITHMB files & which i couldn't figure out how to open. Now all that hassle appears to be totally unnecessary. Thank you so very much for your easy-to-understand, step-by-step instructions. Good for you!
