Gilmour understated things when he called Wright's death a "great sadness" in a speech for an award he recieved (I'm paraphrasing, someone correct me if I'm wrong). The world is short an inimitable, indelible musician.

It is my humble opinion that this version of Echoes the best of them all. Rick is really giving his all here in both singing and playing. It seems as if he somehow knew that this performance of Echoes would be his last...as if he knew he was dying.

I agree with you 200%. This performance is electric, immaculate, stunning: it was worth buying the Gdansk DVD/CD package. You can see, feel, almost taste the passion and flow in this rendition. If there was ever a vote and I was asked to list my top five favourite songs, this one would occupy all five slots. No question.
