I mean my truck is fasssttttt!!! I got from davie (exit 26 on I-95 ) to northlake (exit 77) in 33 minutes!!! A Benz E-55 amg kept trying me but i showed him wasssup with the 4x4 dodge. So like i was saying in my previous comment, where do you get this pulley and is it worth it? Will i need to lower my compression? I think i hit right about 7 or 8 psi in 3rd and 4th gear while passing in the highway and it knocks a little bit. Is it worth it?? Thanks, look for the video soon!
I have the same truck...kinda lol. A few days ago I STOLE a 2002 Dakota Sport ext cab 4x4 with 106,000 miles in excellent condition (int. & ext.) for less than 6 grand out the door!!!! Oh and it already had a kenne bell, exhaust, headers, K&N ram air CAI, and a few other goodies installed as well as the same type of knock sensor you have. I just ordered tires and as soon as they come in and i get em mounted i'll upload a video. Question though, how much and where can you get a "10 psi" pulley?
Oh MaN. I had 257,000 miles on it. Girl run out in front of me. Its totalled. Her insurance is giving 5k for it. I will not find a vehicle as dependable for that.
bad grammar I know. Im just saying the dodge dakota is a great truck, I got 230000 miles on mine and I am just having to change the sparkplugs. It is a great truck and I will vouch for dodge on this one. I dont know about racing but for street use get this truck, it is a good one.
Keep your dakotas stock ok. you could outrun somebody with an upgrade ok. Who cares? When you get as old as I and it isnt that much older than you, again who cares. When you get responsible hauling is what matters. And a stock dakota is the way to go. Sincerely YOUR TRUCK YODA. HAUL YOUR TRASH VIA DAKOTA. Forget about speed. Again my take, you wanna pass a car you wanna haul by a Dakota.
@fromundaphil You must not have much trash to haul. Putting a bed frame in the back of a truck doesn't count as hauling, if you're going to haul something, and want dodge, get a ram.
@chrisbmxhowto I'm just saying if you are old and dont care about hotrods anymore get a dakota, it has enough power to do want you want, yes the Ram has more but cost more, but the dakota with the 4.7 will be enough to get the job done. I pull a pontoon and cant tell its back there except under braking. What I was getting at is dodge makes a good truck and when you get old this supercharged stuff dont mean a thing. But I do miss My 70 Nova with the 383 stroker, but not that much.
@chrisbmxhowto and PS. My 2002 dakota is faster than the 1983 and 1/2 mustang GT I own. Take off and top end. It doesnt outrun everything but it is quick enough and has low RPM's on the interstate. The only problem I have with this truck is headlights. I have to change them twice a year. I am a machinist and have access to all torx bits and I can not find the right size so my headlamps are pretty much stripped out. So stay away from Walmart headlamps or youll be changing them regularly.
hard to tell with the blurry-ness but it looks to me that the boost gauge is reading vacuum and not boost....its going from what looks like -20 to zero then when its being revved up the truck does'nt go past zero which means no boost and no supercharger... good looks with all those gauges but pointless....my rt makes that same whine when its cold after first start.
@thesparks08 You sir are an idiot. Don't speak as if you are an expert at something if you know nothing of what you speak. All superchargers sit at -minus when idling. The boost won't kick in real good until the truck is beasting down the street.. I have one. I know.
I have a 2002 dakota slt 4.7 with 225,000 miles, shes still pretty quick, I havent even changed the spark plugs yet, very good truck except for the ball joint problems, have broken 2 ball joints so far but they got the problem fixed, very good truck, I would recommend to anybody. But smoking everything, I think not, but still a quick truck.
i believe this is the 4.7?, im boutta buy a '02 durango 4X2 4.7 with some minor mods, and i took it for a test drive and was pretty impressed even though the durango is a couple hundred pounds heavier
just wondering what turbo you went with i have a 2000 dakota quad cab with the 4.7 flowmasters it sounds good but i got the ok from the wife to put a turbo on it
It's actually a supercharger...but if you are looking at turbos, good luck, they are hard to find for a truck like this. However, STS makes a remote mount turbo system that can be custom fitted to almost any vehicle...

well i mean things that you wouldent expect a pickup truck to beat. Do you have the 4x4 or 2wd?
finonm7 2 years ago
@finonm7 it is a 2wd, not much need for a 4wd. By far my next truck will be a dodge.
