Young parents with their kids buying all of these products exactly; chips, candy, milk, and pop at 9 am, 12p, or 4p, breakfast lunch and dinner. The gov isn't supposed to buy entertainment and luxury items only the essentials. What happens is these people will have all the stuff they want but expect everyone else to feed them and their kids. Kids by the way are had to get a raise on their checks. I've heard it said before, "I'm bout to get a raise, my ole lady is pregnant". Some people need it but the vast majority think that it's their god given right. They can buy $6 packs if cigs for the couple but their necessities are someone elses responsiblity. The kids grow up without ever seeing either parent work, so what do you think they are going to do? I heard a 6 yr old girl say, "when I grow up I'm going to be on welfare". There is just no shame in it anymore and that's a problem because they want off of it and will turn down anything that will jeopardize their "EBT

Hahaha, this is amazing. The truth of this is sad, but man is it true. I called on convenience stores in the low income areas for 9 months or so, and this was every day at all hours of the day. Young parents with their kids buying all of these products exactly; chips, candy, milk, and pop at 9 am, 12p, or 4p, breakfast lunch and dinner. Im sorry, but this is the truth (my sample was roughly 120 stores and 9 months), the only exaggeration that I see is trying to buy drugs, that is it.

I get EBT but they gave me a REALLY hard time bc I don't have a 20 hr/wk job on top of attending an ivy league university. They finally gave it to me bc I have a work study job. My case worker emphasized that food stamps are for HARD WORKING individuals. As for having kids, that IS a job....and "unemployed" is an extremely particular case by case basis. You need to review the requirements, buddy.
