I'm a huge fan of classical music, and i love original Satie amongst other piano works, but i fucking love this version.
I can't believe so many people are missing out on amazing music by just sticking to one style and not accepting others. Until you stop having such a closed and monophonic view of music there is no way you appreciate a wider spectrum of the beauty that is music.
I think Satie himself had he visited our time and saw the crap on mtv/vh1 would be glad somebody respected and admired him at all;people like Eric Satie in their own time were outcast and scoured at,look at who was famous in his time?Oh Suzanna, she'll coming round the mountain lets face ballads suck most of the time.
PLEASE DON'T READ THIS!!!!! in 1964 13 year old Elisa Johnson was raped and murdered in North Carolina, her body was found with multiple stab wounds, and now that you've read this, every night she will come to your house and hang from your closet with glowing red eyes, the only way to stop this is to post this to 10 other videos
I like it, very interesting. The whistle part is brilliant^^, the guys got the mood right in a modern sense. I know Satie is dead and he doesn't care but I have this strong feeling that he would like the whistle part and listen to it with a smile, too.
it was such a treat to find this...I originally heard this song in the movie 'The Painted Veil'. It was such a haunting tune. When I finally got around to researching its beginnings, I found your version. You guys did a great job. I hope someone can pay you for your work on this...it would be good in a movie track...don't delete this video...it deserves a chance to be heard by more than just us here on the internet
I found this video while doing a search on Satie, of whom I'm very fond. This piece in particular intrigues me because it evokes an unquantifiable emotional response--I could best describe it as "vaguely unsettling", unlike his sweet Gymnopedies. Triste Sire does a great job here. Thanks guys, and Viva La France!
Great modern interpretation of Satie! Just shows how much ahead of his time he really was. They look a little ridiculous to be honest (no offense, but seriously, they do) but that doesn't really make it any less brilliant.
sounds like MUSE ;)
