stock to stock there isn't much difference, the 250r is better in the whoops but the new 450's have a little more power, it all depends on the rider i prefer the 250r....i just bought an 89 out in L.A and its still on the original top end haha! it still runs strong tho. my buddy just bought a new yfz 450r and its barely out runs my 20 year old 250r! As soon as i get my tax returns i'm gettin another 89 250r with a ct 350 power valve kit! no way those four strokes are gonna hang with that beast!

well technically there is a big difference, the 450's have tons more torque, and a bit more horsepower, but the light weight and quick revving of the 250r more then make up for that difference, the 450s will usualy win in a long straight line race, but through a tight track, or a short drags the 250's are right with em, if not ahead.

If your performance is off try half 93 fuel and half turbo blue and keep your same mix . keep checkin your plug when you find a good burning plug dont change anything else. I get scared when i mix lean fuel there is alot of time and money into my head so i am very careful.

An to codered3457 try an race my YFZ450. It has a 526 kit in it. I bet i'll kill your 250r. The main beast in quads are the Quadzilla 500cc. Those things pumped up are mean machines. TRX400EX's aren't for pussies. They have one of the strongest running engines in quads. Plus the 450s didn't come out until 2004 and so on. Plus i bet my cousins 400ex would beat yours. "Not wanting to start a fight". It has a 440 kit, Stage 3 hot cam, an little more then 5000 dollars into the engine with the kit.
