The Bible calls for pastors and leaders to be "above reproach" and have "self-control" and if this has been an ongoing struggle for the Bishop, he is not fitting the biblical criteria. Personally, I think that the "Let God handle it" angle can be applied to SOME extent, but we as children of God must be VERY careful not to be so lax in allowing too many "gray" areas in the church or in their own lives. That's the main reason why many Christians today are accommodationists (weak) and things like gay churches and openly gay pastors exist.

Ellis is suggesting that the congregation's faith should be in Eddie Long, rather than in Christ. Nowhere in scripture is a scandal-ridden pastor recognized as a test of the Christian's faith. How is Eddie Long being in scandal harmful to them?

It is clear that they were BOTH AFRAID at the beginning of the prophecy. I don't doubt that Bishop Ellis received a word from God. However, he did not speak EXACTLY or ALL that God gave him to speak. You can clearly see that Bishop Long was nervous at the beginning of the prophecy. He even attempts to reel Bishop Ellis in. Concerning the woman caught in adultery, as we know it was more about trapping Jesus more than it was about the woman. The accusers had broke the Law by not bringing the man as ( Deut 22:22 & Lev 20:10 ) commands. The Bible calls for pastors and leaders to be "above reproach" and have "self-control" and if this has been an ongoing struggle for the Bishop, he is not fitting the biblical criteria. Jesus restores all who come to Him and if we're real, we don't need to gossip and fuel the flame. We pray first regardless of how it looks! Personally, I think that the "Let God handle it" angle can be applied to SOME extent, but we as children of God must be VERY careful not to be so lax in allowing too many "gray" areas in the church or in their own lives. That's the main reason why many Christians today are accommodationists (weak) and things like gay churches and openly gay pastors exist.

As far as sin being sin...please read 1st John 5:16-17 and also read John 7:24 concerning judging people. Most people misquote Matthew 7:1-5 and take it way out of context.

It is clear that they were BOTH AFRAID at the beginning of the prophecy. I don't doubt that Bishop Ellis received a word from God. However, he did not speak EXACTLY or ALL that God gave him to speak. You can clearly see that Bishop Long was nervous at the beginning of the prophecy. He even attempts to reel Bishop Ellis in. God was forewarning members that their faith and loyalty in & towards GOD will be TESTED by internal issues (sin) that will be revealed outside the church (news media).

I love black ppl. I'm not a christian, but I can feel the energy of what was going on in that church....and these ppl loved each other and they were trying to do something positive and get what they perceived as their souls right with the creator. I sincerely hope that one day in the near future we can come together in this spirit of truth...minus this doctrine, but in this spirit

Has it ever occured to any of you that this so-called prophecy was staged because they knew in advance that these boys were about to go public? They were merely setting the stage for the members to line up behind Eddie Long and get ready to defend him no matter what is said about him. Don't believe every spirit but try the spirit by the spirit to see what sort it is. Damage control was being done inadvance to throw the people so they can say after the fact that this prophet told them inadvance.

I seen a clip where two preachers were dancing on money on a stage and bragging about a 15k DOG! yes dog.. who would go back?

Biblically, many prophetic moments took place right before some type of damage, ex: Noah + the ark = the flood, Jesus + his ministry = persecution of Christians. Concerning the woman caught in adultery, as we know it was more about trapping Jesus more than it was about the woman. The accusers had broke the Law by not bringing the man as ( Deut 22:22 & Lev 20:10 ) commands. If Jesus would have said just let her go, then He would be violating the Law of Moses, if He said stone her they would have probably reported Him to the Roman authorities. My point is this, Jesus and so did she knew she deserved death, but by His GRACE He said to her go sin no more!!!

Thisis for those who call themselves "SAVED!" I`ll try to make this quick and easy! When quoting the do not judge others, ( Matt7:1-12 ) like many like to do, who is Jesus addressing? verse 5 tells us "HYPOCRITES!" Verse 12 concludes in everything treat people the same as you would want them to treat you ( why? ) this is the law and the prophets. When you read the text then cross referance with other scripture it`s "CLEAR AS DAY" that we are to rebuke and judge one another in truth and love!!!
