The vehicle she was in flipped during the attack (I don't know the details of this) resulting in her breaking her leg, among other broken bones. 11 soliders were killed and six (Lynch among them) were captured during the ambush. I don't think your description does much credit to Nasiriyah.

The Coast Guard only accepts 1 out of 5 applicants, and yes you have to apply. The Army takes anyone including gang bangers and people with a criminal record. My understanding is that she was part of a convoy that was ambushed. The vehicle she was in flipped during the attack (I don't know the details of this) resulting in her breaking her leg, among other broken bones. 11 soliders were killed and six (Lynch among them) were captured during the ambush. I don't think your description does much credit to Nasiriyah.

I know I'm gonna get a "Thumbs Down" at some point for this but I don't care. First off if anyone should be granted the title of "Hero" it should be the Special Forces Team that went in and recovered her. Whether the way they went about it remains to be founded true or not since none of us where there, she was recovered and allowed to return home in one piece and alive. Secondly, she PUBLICLY admitted the rumors about her were false. That says something about her as a person.

"The soldiers broke down doors when they could've just asked where she was". Not the way we do business. How the hell did they know there were know enemies in the building? They didn't so they had to behave like there was. The US Army teaches us that when we enter a building, we own the building. You have to be aggressive or you will die! Her weapon jammed because she was a POG and didn't maintain it properly. My M4 never jams or malfunctions because it's highly maintained.
