  • 2001 Space Odyssey is my bible

  • Was expecting to see ELVIS appear after 1min37sec BUT alas.......

ELVIS has left the building !

  • I've gotta say its been nearly 50 years since the moonlanding and interstella space travel is still not a reality! Now they've even stopped sending manned space shuttles into space!!!! What the fuck are you doing NASA!?!?!?!? Such a dissapointment... :'(

  • 00:17 epic begin

  • 03:17 Epicness begins *-*

  • I've been searching for this music all over haha xD

  • I have not seen this movie for some time but I saw it when it came out in 1968 and have loved the movie and the music ever since. Incidentally I am 52 and boy I'll tell you Stanley Kubrick was genius to make such a visually pleasing science fiction movie, way ahead of his time. The anagram HAL was great-H to I A to B and L to M, years before IBM was really popular or the invention of the PC or the advent of the internet.

  • what is the song called starting at 7:30 ??? its so weird

  • @sammysamsamxxx why don't you like the movie? it's about the human development, alien technology and the development of the species in the universe as one whole

  • @NateCap13 look at the top comments. this movie is a masterpiece and claiming it to be senseless is stupid.

  • This is the music I listen to whilst trolling.

  • Is a genius \/

  • This song i have on my toilet and is so beatifull see how my shit going out of me xD

  • I take shits to this song.Thats how epic I am.

  • No lie, my mother played this exact ensemble during the birth of me.

I think I'll pass that tradition on, and play it during my child's birth too. Seems like such a noble, and timeless way to enter the world.

  • @C1TeamMidNight Dumbest thing I've ever read. Please tell me you're just a troll.

  • @emyllsomar It's the honest to god truth.

  • @emyllsomar Albeit I was birthed via Cesarean section, so there was no screaming of pain from my mother. It was more or less like... opening pod bay doors. lol.

  • imagine listening to this in the last ten minutes before 6 PM and no, i don't believe the world will end

  • What's the second piece called? That famous melody and tune. D:

  • @StormofThunder1 blue danube... i thinks that's it in english, in german it's blaue donau- composer is johann strauss??? not sure ;)

  • "Open the pod bay doors, HAL."

    "I'm afraid I can't do that Dave."

  • @cooldonkeyfish Correction: "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that".

  • @hugothenerd Whatever you say Hugo the nerd.

  • @cooldonkeyfish A worthy name :)

  • can anybody tell me who wrote this wonderful work? thanks

  • @chelomustis Johann Strauss Jr.

  • Anyone know that HAL actually was related to I.B.M(International Business Machine).

What is the letter that comes after H in the alphabet?....I.

Which comes after A....B, which comes after L, yupp you guessed it! M!

    Neat eh?

  • @GreenPepperTeam What's HAL?

  • @alan517815 HAL was the computer in the movie that slowly showed it's true colours....

  • 2 HUGE ASSHOLES!

  • Elvis Presley use the first song for intro his show ...that was pretty cool!!!

  • at 1:40 what is the name of the song? Please PM me the name of it.. thank you very much!

  • @DavidSmallWorlds99 it is the blue danube waltz by andre rieu what a classic piece, it was used in walt Disney’s

  • soundtrack is pretty cool i guess. but the movie sucked.

  • It really annoys me when people associate this with ric flair and not 2001.

  • I love this track! It feels like 2 songs in one!

  • Who would dare to give this a thumbs down? Tasteless miscreant. :-)

  • I routinely put 2001 on while I do errands around my house - just so that I can listen to the soundtrack.

  • Ric Flair titantron! XD

  • Space Shuttle ballet

  • 1:28 - A part of me was expecting CC Rider to start and Elvis to come out.

  • Is the exact recording of Also Sprach Zarathustra as used in the movie? 8o It sounds VERY similar.

  • najlepsze kawałki na świecie! Kocham Kosmos! <3

  • What is so amazing about this movie is, how they portray space travel. Not filled with lasers, robots and aliens, but this subtle... Emptiness. You fill it in with your imagination of what MIGHT be out there. It's incredible really.

  • @Zlagie I agree!!

  • @Zlagie

What's amazing is that it was made in 68, before we went into space and not only is not dated in any way, but puts pretty much all other fils too shame.

  • @Zlagie except when a fetal, godlike incarnation of Dave manifests itself beyond the reaches of time and zaps back into our atmosphere whilst his true projection is left in a dimensional limbo all because of a smooth monolith that lands on our earth and moon...other than that, yea there's a lot left to the imagination

  • Obra prima !!!! Imortal.

  • kubrick got nasa to lend him the super super zeiss camera to fill 2002 at least i came across that when i read about the movie..a favorite of course and the dawn of man always gives me chills..even before lucy!

  • A space ballet :b

  • This is the most AWESOME!!! Film in history!

    Thumbs up if you agree

And so is it´s soundtrack ;)

  • @mulleolsen Book is better :)

  • @mEtaLPinCh Okay :) I have never read the book, maybe i should read soon

  • Comment removed

  • I love this movieand this video. Stanley was WAAAAAAY ahead of his time. There was a book that came out then about the making of the movie. Like I said Stanley was way ahead of his time with all the special effects, music and story. People just didn't understand what it was about. I think they still don't. In two words .... Time Continuum.

Yes I am a space nut... ever since high school . But they are not laughing at me now.............

  • Uh Oh Chuck Norris is taking a poop! This song is amazingly put together just as well as the film.

  • 'Also Sprach Zarathustra' by Richard Strauss will always be remembered as the opening theme to this film. Brilliant ! - as are the waltzes (by Johannes Strauss) that Kubrick uses through out the film.

  • this is ric flair entrance music

  • Classic music will always be my favorite... and when i hear this kind of masterpiece i understand why...

  • That 1 person who disliked should be putted into the vacume of space.

  • @ste96en lol it was probably the director of the movie ;P

  • Aram Hachaturian "Gajane" ballet and Shtraus "Blue Dunabe"

  • get some help.

  • creeperrrr

  • To be honest, I'm not much of a Strauss guy either, but that doesn't constitute his music being crap.
