  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • touché sir

  • jack dee...hahaha...classic!!

  • Harsh, but true.

  • Genius

  • Ronni Ancona is gorgeous, I totally would.

  • It's a bit unfair to say ALL women aren't funny. I, personally, I think there are a lot of very funny female commediens and also some who I just can't stand, which is the same with male commediens. Is it not just a question of taste?

  • @Jems17

Of course, but in such matters it's usually analysised stastically, and stastically there are certainly more successful and popular male comedians. Even though the audience of most comedians is divided down the gender line quite evenly, I dare say.

  • @Jems17

Analysed* lol.... I don't recall inviting that extra syllable.

  • @Jems17

I think good female comedians are a minority because every time i watch their act it always involves sex.

  • The females jokes just weren't funny. Probably true that they aren't as funny.

  • I love how he tries to deliver it totally deadpan, but can't quite manage it.

  • Jack Dee = AWESOME :)

  • Am I incorrect in assuming that there are less female comedians overall? If not, then there should be less funny female comedians overall. A ratio would make this fact much more "interesting".

  • @willisverynice well there are less females at any profession because like half of women just stay home and raise children. Fact, nothing sexist about it, I don't know what the hell they are debating here, it's a simple enough answer

  • @onokaoonokao Where did you get that fact from? The 1800s? It's not a fact at all it's just what you think.

I'm going to leave the big book of feminism on the shelf of life for the minute, but all I will say is we live in a diluted patriarchy, a world built by men for men. Diluted in that indeed there are many women with power but the bias is still towards men.

The answer is never simple, and if you think it is, it's probably wrong.

  • @ThreeSpotCat and if you think you're not simple because you read a few feminist books, you're probably wrong.

  • @onokaoonokao I've studied feminism for a good few years actually, so I'm one of those rare people who know what they're talking about.

Anyway, I'm not going to argue on youtube because it's ridiculous, but reading a few books wouldn't be a bad thing for you.

  • @ThreeSpotCat you're a tool, just be silent if you're going to pretend to be too for arguing on teh internetz. Cheers

  • @onokaoonokao Relax. You're not doing yourself any favours.

  • @ThreeSpotCat go get breast cancer, pretentious cunt.

  • @onokaoonokao I love you too baby. ;)

  • Simple, humour is easier when the audience is dumber. Us guys are at heart boys at heart. I've been watching crude brash Spill.com for the past 2 hours.

  • Win! XD

  • Perfect timing. And so accurate.

  • timing..delivery... tone... PERFECT PUT DOWN

  • Brilliant Jack, brilliant.

  • jack dee nails it.

  • Good old Jack Dee.

  • Femcom pooh-poohers have obviously never seen Ursula Martinez's 'Hanky Panky' routine. It's hilarious, and she's got great norks.

  • female comedians have poor execution rather than poor content. many talk too fast and have an annoying tone of voice

  • Women just aren't funny.

  • Women are rubbish comedians.

  • i think i've seen the woman on the left in porn. . . . . sexist? yep, lol

  • @ir3a11ydontn0 I think that might have been a dream...it's all good man, I've had it too....

  • Jack Dee = Legend!

  • Jack Dee, fighting the urge to laugh at his own joke.

  • 01:41 he pulled her panties down

Christopher Hitchens was true Women are not funny

  • Comment removed

  • Seen this clip dozens of times and every time I know what's coming yet it still makes me laugh.

  • that women proved the whole point, she was trying to be funny but failed then jack dee put her in her place, women just aint funny, they just try to hard

  • 0:55 It's true, the cage is over flowing into dovercourt and parkston, some one really need to come have a tidy up!

  • I think french and Saunders aren't that funny either. Victoria wood is more clever than funny. Jo brand is pretty good, there's some Muslim bird that's good, she makes fun of Muslims which is ok by me. Also, I think iv'e got the flu.

  • @rocketjunkie88 get well soon

  • @FarRightFred thankyou. aaatishooo! (sneeze)

  • It is interesting that in a study that reviewed humor in different cultures across the world women were found overwhelmingly to be the laughers, and not the joke tellers. I think it's just part of the traditional dance that men have had to go through to attract a woman and probably has something to do with our primate ancestry. When traditional gender roles are dissolved, people develop new roles, hence stay at home dads and a growing trend of pretty hilarious female standups.

  • Ronni Ancona: so funny, as always. Brilliant.

  • And the ones that are funny, are usually manly in some way. Like, they're either lesbians, sociopaths or highly unattractive.

  • PLEASE DON'T SUE ME!

  • the brunette woman is really shit :L

  • @wackjack10 Shes more an impersonater/impressionist, shes pretty decent at that, plus shes got a rack on her :)

  • I've watched this a few times and now I just move the button on to 1:34

  • women of the world, you don't need to be funny to appeal to men!

you already have boobs, generally have the ability to be sexy to some man somewhere and are fantastic at sandwich making!

stop trying to make us laugh!

  • i love the flicker of fear on jack's face after his joke at about 1:43 in case the women take the joke the wrong way :P

  • pure idiot for not realizing that was the punchline...

  • 00:28 pure genius response...

  • Why is everyone judging Ronni Ancona's talent just by hearing one line? A tad narrow minded, don't you think?

  • French and Saunders are genius and are so funny, well when they were doing their show, and what makes them even more funny is the fact that they are really nice and endearing, Victoria Wood is also a genius, Dinnerladies is fantastic, these days men are playing the arenas but certain women will always break through and win our hearts

  • Woman in pink, the aunt from harry potter?

  • Welcome to youtube comments, home of the sweeping generalisation!

  • @ThreeSpotCat That's a sweeping generalisation in itself. I heard you like sweeping generalisations inside your sweeping generalisations.

  • @ParliamentPars You see what I did there? Coz I saw what you did there.

Jesus this could go on for days.

  • @ThreeSpotCat LOL, Yeah it could but I think we'll stop there haha

  • @ThreeSpotCat how ironic of you..

  • @MaxRunham Catch up!!

  • @ThreeSpotCat Oh!! I see what's going on here! That's clever! You're clever!

  • @MaxRunham ahthangyow. ;)

  • @ThreeSpotCat

That's supposed to be a bad thing then?

  • @ThreeSpotCat There's a reason stereotypes come around...

because people do them. a LOT.

It's not generalisation if it's true.

Yes, there are a few funny female comedians. There's about 5. the rest are all whiney, bland, boring people that just talk about periods, men being dicks (because it's not the woman's fault that she's insufferable to live with, NO), bags, shoes, chocolate and where they're from.

  • @LukaVyacheslav Personally I wouldn't say that was true at all, but that's your perogative.

  • @LukaVyacheslav No. That's just your opinion. Making it an generalisation.

  • @ThreeSpotCat Damn Brits and your lack of the use of the letter "z"!

  • I actually don't think woman comedians are nearly ever as funny. Some of them are outright annoying but there are still good woman comedians.

  • love the description.

  • because women aren't supposed to leave the kitchen!

  • after he has said it, he has a proper good certificate smile!

  • Bitch on the left going on about keeping female comedians in pens just proves the point that female comedians aren't funny. She goes on and fucking on and it's not even mildly amusing.

Then a one-liner from Alan Davis is hilarious. :)

  • @IronRooRoo The older woman on the right is good and does some nice setups, like the earlier crack about the male genitalia was fishing to get a response from the men.

  • @SirTimbo Yep, she was fine. Jo Brand is hilarious too when she makes appearances. But this younger broad...fucking unfunny.

  • women comedians are funny to some women...and men who fancy them.. and thats it

  • Guys can do more different styles of comedy, and that's an advantage. It's possible for a male to do "dumb" or "physical" styles and bring down the house. If we see a woman do those, we think she looks like an idiot. It's just that we're used to seeing men clown around (sometimes to impress women!) but you don't expect that from women.

  • @carmium Also, men can get away with saying things that women just can't.

  • haha well played. Gold star! :p

  • jack starts to vocalise his idea at 1.15....finally gets it out at 1.35...stalked his chance and then dumped it out clear and fast so as not to be cut off again. great line, nicely timed.

  • Perhaps men are merely more likely to assume a right to speak in the language of power which is the language of the stand up. They are more likely to be blunt, less likely to hedge or seek consensus, more likely to interrupt or hold the floor, more likely to talk over and so on. These are also skills that stand up comedians need to hold the audience's attention. There also are female comedians (Joan Rivers for example) who can do this more effectively than many male comedians.

  • @luckyswine joan rivers is as funny as a burning orpanage

  • Russel Howards a good female comedian.

  • @rocketjunkie88 i dont get it?

  • @mrUMMbongo well, it's just Jack being his usual dry cynical self. the female comediens are talking talkin talking (like women do often) and he just says: ' you can't get them to shut up' or whatever. Not really a punchline. More a retort.

  • @rocketjunkie88 no, you said russle howard is a good female comedian and got 67 thumbs up? i don't get your joke geeza

  • @mrUMMbongo you're maybe lacking intelligence there then I gu....ugh...look it up on google or read a fucking book you moron.

  • @dooovde what a cunt

  • @mrUMMbongo are you Liam Gallagher?

  • @rocketjunkie88 hw the fuck?!???

  • @mrUMMbongo i knew you was! you are him. Go on, sing Wonderwall.

  • @rocketjunkie88 explain the joke then i will geeza

  • @mrUMMbongo there's no joke really, at the time i didn't like Russel Howard, now he's grown on me, most of them do eventually.

  • @mrUMMbongo umbongo bollockhead

  • @rocketjunkie88

Rocket Junkie the internet bully of the 88th clan

  • @rocketjunkie88 Russell Howard is not a good comedian.

  • @djdogjuam well these seem to be the times of people shit at their jobs doing well.

he's on Mock the Week, Russel Howards Good News, dvds galore, standup tours.....

  • @rocketjunkie88 Justin Bieber is insanely successful. Do you think he's good too, or maybe I'm right in saying that successful people are shit sometimes cus morons like you buy their shit.

  • Many a good time iv'e had watching Jack Dees standup. Don't see so much of him these days. Shame

  • BUUUURRRRNNNNN!!!!

  • @StephCheddarMonk is comedy you retarded nazi

  • "Comedian" Ronni Ancona showing just how unfunny women can be. Her bit was so unfunny. The other woman's funny though.

Jack Dee killed it with that line. Brilliant!

  • I don't wish to come across as uber-liberal, because I generally agree that men tend to be funnier than women, but I get quite annoyed when these sexists in denial come on to videos like this with a blatant prejudice towards female comedians. I, for one, could use Sandi Toksvig, Sarah Millican, Holly Walsh and Jo Brand as few examples of female comedians in the public eye that I really enjoy. Maybe men are funnier, but women aren't unfunny.

  • @Szaam Also, maybe, we are taught that men are funnier, expect men to be funnier and therefore see men as funnier and perhaps allow men to be funny to a further extent. I mean, humour is taught, right. Just like we learn social codes we learn what's funny.. and if men have been allowed to be funny, expected to be funny and seen as funny for years whereas women have just recently been given the benefit of the doubt and allowed to be seen, ofc men are going to be seen as funnier in general.

  • Very true Mr Dee, very true ^^

  • Generally, female comedians are shit, but I could watch Jo Brand all day. She is fucking hilarious.

  • avoid asking "how was your day". women find it hard to only say "fine", "not bad" or "shit". gawd bless um.

  • lmao at his serious face! that was the funniest thing : his face!!!

  • Jacks a fucking ledg

  • that was indeed funny

  • Yeah, one of my favorite segments Ive seen from this show.

  • The description is funneh.

  • BOOOOOM

  • at 1:14 jack starts to make the joke :P

  • @shinobijikininki :P :P :P

  • @shinobijikininki So.. the fact that she didn't shut up and let him interrupt her show that women never stops talking? Couldn't the fact that he tried to interrupt show her that men are used to being seen and heard first and are arrogant enough to take for granted that everyone else (women) should shut up mid sentence when he wants to talk?

  • Comment removed

  • Nice to see Sandi being so humble about it, shows strength of character, men are just more funny. I'm sure many women could and would love to see it as some sort of attack, but it's really not like that.

  • Why is it, after seeing this video 24 times, I still laugh as if it was the first time I've heard it?

  • Even Jack had a smile there (Unusual for him), he knew it was funny. lol great line!

  • Jack Dee Is A FUCKING LEGEND!!!!

  • nailed

  • Jack, the ultimate cynic.

  • I actually think Sandi Toksvig is the funniest female comedian in the world. In fact, she is the only female comedian I can stand to watch.

  • @eddyk3 Sandi hates being called a comedian, and I think that's why she's so good at it - people see female comedians and automatically think 'they're not funny', but you don't get that with Sandi because she's already said it.

  • @kievins1 Yes tediously grinding the shit out of the obvious is clearly the heart of comedy.

  • Sandi got it right IMO.

  • Oh Jack Dee.

  • 00:17 . . . perfect example women are not funny

  • the build up after 1:12 is amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • They walked right into that

  • It's because none of them are as good as Victoria Wood

  • If you want to see a really funny female comedian just search for... oh wait, never mind.

  • Miranda hart, catherine tate, french and saunders

  • @e7l13 one of whom is funny. there are many many funny female comedians, you haven't really picked any.

  • @alexanderdearest I know. But when i think of funny female comedians, those are the first that spring to mind.

  • @e7l13 They're not funny!

  • it was a long wait but worth it!

  • this is the funniest line to me too. i laughed for a week after when this was on tv

  • Anyone looking for a hilarious female comedian, search for Sarah Millican.

  • She's right. There are loads of female comedians; however 99.999% of them are terribly unfunny.

  • That's pretty much just comedians in general.

  • alan's little quip was just as good imo xD

  • Yes, yes it is. I've watched all the QI episodes to see if there was any funnier punchline but there isn't. Some of David Mitchell ones come pretty close but this one still wins.

  • @8Cell4Cube ya that too

  • @ghelyar Rascist

  • @hairyvirgin *Racist.

  • A simple fact of life about women, they cannot fucking DRIVE. they just can't, no argument, no statistics, nothing can disprove this fact, its true, BUS IT.

  • Just press 8 for the punch line.

  • It's not that female comedians are inherently less funny, it's that niche comedians only appeal to niche audiences. A lot of female comedians choose to only make jokes about things specific to being a woman, which means if you're not a woman you can't relate to it. It's the same with a lot of minority comedians but if you mention most of them you have to be very careful not to appear racist e.g. Russell Peters target audience are mostly Asian.

  • To be honest, I disagree with most comments about Germans that circulate here in the comment sections. I am German, and we do not have a single funny female comedian. To be fair, there are no funny male comedians here, too. There are maybe 1 or 2 in the country that could actually compete with an inte
