Big companies do occasionally make good games. Problem is that it's only once in a while and the fact that big companies will promote their worse or most exclusive games while leaving their best in the shadows. Hell, look in the bargain bins. All the potentially good games from big companies are in there due to lack of promotion and attention. Though, you'll need to rumage through crap first.

It's fortunate you don't go through that with indies.

Touhou, as well as others like Akatsuki Blitzkamp and Yume Nikki, are slowly getting recognized. Hell, some people still don't know what Cave Story is. Best to either blog about it (seam people read those alot lately) or hold regular game nights with a vs Doujin or two in the rotation, inviting whoever would be interested. Hell, my regular gaming group enjoy some indie games. There was even interesting moments in PoFV and SWR during some game nights.

With me, it's mostly Touhou and Mindarms. Haven't gotten around to downloading or buying most games. I also have a couple demos of indie games lieing around somewhere, some of which I've seen people list in indie montage vids. Come to think of it, most indie games I've played were on demo disks, thanks to a couple friends of mine. That, or those friends had full versions.
