Oakland's unemployment rate went waaaayyy down when Hammer Time Inc. hit the stage. This Arsenio Hall night did for Hammer what MTV did for Michael and "Billie Jean"... He really did turn it out that night!
HAMMER SAID HE MADE HIS MUSIC TO BE FUN 4 THE LISTENERS HE WANTED U TO DANCE AND HAVE A GOOD TIME IT SAD PPL CLOWN HIM 4 TRYN LOOK OUT 4 PPL THAS Y HE WENT BROKE CANT BRING DA HOOD WITH U LESSON LEARNED
This was the hammer I liked, before the corporate hammer took over, with the Adams familly songs and Can't touch this songs. Like Arsenio said "hammer's a bad boy." He helped so manny disadvantage youths that you can't hate on him.
This is why he went broke... trying to bring along too many people. Always liked Hammer, but I LOVED him when he had 357 dancing and Too Big M.C. as his hypeman. Everything was more authentic.
I love that alot of his dance steps are reminiscent of fraternity stomping...it makes you feel good...many rappers just stand and talk..this is true entertainment!
this was pretty good live! I was there.... 1st person on the left in the second row of "these people came to hear Hammer sing feelings" It was a really good live show when he went gospel!!
Big up Hammer.....went broke for trying to put his hood on....but it's the thought that counts...and Big up the Arsenio Hall Show!!!!! History right there
Its a bummer there are no longer great talks shows like Arsenio anymore. That show was the shit back in the early 90's. I use to watch it all the time as a kid and a pre teen. Man I missed it so much!! I mean what's today's shows: Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon god they fuckin suck!! Bring back Arsenio Hall!!
It's funny how now everybody is all saying Hammer's show is good and stuff but back in the day people just made fun of him, dissed his lyrics and rap and dancing and you couldn't pay a DJ to play his music, it's just really funny to me how things have changed. It seems now he's getting the respect and admiration he so richly deserved back then. He dared to change the game and did a damn good job of it too. I saw him in concert plenty of times and felt like I was at a party each time.
Now I see why he went broke...lol...all dem damn people....love it though!!! put ..put ..put...put it on the hammer and you will be rewarded and you know he get is started!!!
@DamonAndDara I Agree I've seen no rapper entertain as well as this!!!. Everyone's to concerned with standing still and looking gangster... Boring lol
@DamonAndDara damn right and the only thing that most of them rap about these days killing someone and nothing positive. I guess thats not why he isnt at the top no longer
@haitgb Actually I've been to both. Kanye is an absolutely horrible performer. He can't dance, sing, or anything. He does what all entertainers do when they have no talent. Try to write lyrics that shock people and piss them off. Jay-Z was exactly the same. Only difference is Jay-Z is a decent writer. They are not even close to the same class or caliber as Hammer.
HAMMER, ONE OF THE GREATEST PERFORMERS/ENTERTAINERS EVER!
