  • "Cock a doodle...er...honk." So effin' funny. I'm actually laughing out loud.

  • @ProjectFlashlight612 That's what I like to hear :)

  • Top notch mockery! More effing (dayglo) daleks - wish moffat had told them to jammy dodger off.

Still if my 8 year old is the target audience then they had a win on their hands. *sigh*

  • @gadgetgeekgirl Yeah, I fear the "kiddie show" tag of Doctor Who may yet come back to haunt us...

  • How about the seemingly pointless female character (Breene, I think she was called) who had lost her boyfriend in the war at the end of the episode? She had no role in the story at all, but I remember Jeff's gran said she thought she'd met the Eleventh Doctor before. Could that have been her younger self in the 1940s?

  • @mowingthefrontlawn Ooooooh, not thought of that - but yes that sounds like a twist that could tie things together. Otherwise she was just a big pile of "meh"

  • @llordllama Exactly. Oh, and the Private Eye has a new article revealing the truth about the new Daleks. You were right, BBC Worldwide pretty much forced poor old Steven Moffat to make multi-colored Daleks to, you guessed it, sell more toys, since everyone already bought the Time War Dalek, Dalek Sec, and Crucible Supreme Dalek. Apparently fans complained at the preview screening and now poor Moffat's feeling the fans' anger.

  • 2:20 i so agree!

    so annoying

  • @twilightnotthebook RTD must be delighted ;)

  • LOLOLOL great review! My favourite part was the "ironside tea legion"! XD

  • @doctorwhoobawooba They were my favourite bit to do (and the first bit I knew I'd make when I was watching the show last week). Must remember to finish making my Weeping Angels before tonight now...

  • A stirring effort. We will stand up to them gooses on the beaches, no matter what it takes and I will grab, with both hands, anything that resembles a cup of tea.

  • @BobMcCow I thank you sir! Your proud British delight in this splendid episode is a credit to St George himself...even if he was a bit foreign

  • soooooooooooooooo bloody funny

  • @ScareMeSexy71 Bless you - no kinder words are there ;)

  • Daleks skirts have had to get bigger I hear to compensate for Amys skirts getting smaller.

  • @WhiteCrowUK You will hear no arguements from me on the Pond/skirt front :)

  • Yeah... still better than the worst of RTD's series, though, so far.

I wonder how much pressure is on the Moff to keep some of the same formula which has made it so popular.

  • @vengeance1701 Oh my yes - perhaps the formula will slowly be broken; maybe that's what the crack is all about...

  • @llordllama Ooooh, now that's gettin' metaphysical for ya.

  • Congratulations on making a video better than the episode. It's one of my favorite reviews of yours, even if it doesn't do that much reviewing. The scene starting at 1:56 really cracked me up!

I thought Moffat's Daleks were the episode's biggest weakness, not only because they look silly. The whole story was built around introducing them. The first 15 minutes or so were great.! If they had paid more attention to the story instead of the Power Ranger Daleks, we could have had a nice episode.

  • @mowingthefrontlawn Yeah, I realised this week I'd rather make a homage than a review ;)

Not convinced by the Fat Bottomed Daleks, but I understand they make they rocking world go round....

  • @mowingthefrontlawn Moffatt's Daleks? More like BBC Enterprises' Daleks:)

  • @vengeance1701 ++MERCHANDISING!!!++ no wait, already did that ;)

*then runs out to preorder the lot*

  • @vengeance1701 The story is that Moffat didn't want the Daleks to be back for another 2-3 years, but the BBC wanted them back early in Series 5 to ensure ratings. Moffat had Gatiss turn a cancelled DW comic book into a story and decided to redesign them. So the new Daleks were Moffat's idea, but I wonder they bad design is intentional to tell the BBC to back off?

  • @mowingthefrontlawn Oh really? I can see the Moff's point on this. I still wish the Daleks would go back to the Pertwee era "Giant Evil Empire" that was a great pressence even off screen; rather than the "time travel uber foes of the time lords". Ah well.
