  • That's a weird sign set at 3:06. Doesn't "W" stand for whistle? Why would you have a whistle sign over a quiet zone sign?

  • Ummm....I know that W over QZ mean Whistle Quiet Zone, Witch means the can't blow there whistle. But I don't know what the 3 is for. Maybe the 3 means for the next 3 crossing.

  • The W QZ 3 sign means there are 3 quiet crossings too close together to put three different signs. It looks like that's right before LaGrange Road, which would make sense since there are three crossings there back to back to back.

  • Yeah I assumed the 3 meant 3 crossings.

  • Yah.

  • I'm not entirely sure why they decided to put the whistle posts back in after being absent for many years since it's a quiet zone. If anything, it's just to remind engineers that there are crossings ahead, since they are still required to ring their bell through the crossings and station platforms.

  • It makes me so mad that someone graffitied a rare Amtrak Phase III Baggage Car. Nice pictures.

  • That's a shame too because Amtrak stuff NEVER gets graffitied! I mean come on out of all the stuff to choose from in that yard they had to take the phase III baggage. That probably just doomed it to a trip to the paint shop. :(

  • Yah it is a shame....Thanks for the comments Guy's!

  • That's actually not used as a baggage car any more. Next time you see it, you'll see that it actually says "Buffer car" on the side. They use it for transporting high end door cars (Superliners and Surfliner cars, which have upper level doors to cross between cars) to the Beech Grove repair facility near Indianapolis. One end of the buffer car has a special diaphragm so it doesn't damage the diaphragm on the high end door cars.

  • LOL Nice Job Bro We Need To Go Railfanning Soon Plus Your First South Shore lol
