The Zodiac isn't alive. It was either Arthur Leigh Allen or Gaikowski - if the Zodiac was still alive, he'd still be killing or at least still be taunting. He can't help it - he likes the attention too much.

Allen died in 1992, Gaikowski in 2004. Since there were no known murders or letters by the Zodiac after 1974, your theory is not internally consistent. You've got at least 18 years of silence to account for.

It's not unreasonable to assume that Zodiac is dead purely because of the time that's gone by, but the attention-seeking thing doesn't work unless your suspect died in the 1970s.

@ar4216 Some investigators believe he was a sexually motivated serial killer and that he could of also been a homosexual, but that's more a stretch considering he seemed more "enthused" with his female victims. The prime suspect is actually a pedophile, who used to be an elementary school teacher, his name was Arthur Leigh Allen.

i dont think the killer knew the victims personally.... if he knew the girl, he would have to make for certain they both was dead ie putting a bullet in each brain. too risky not to, what if one of those manage to survive AND tell someone who it was. way too sketchy for me...... if it was me just in a manor of speaking i would have to kill them both with a bullet in the head to be sure they dont reveal the killer. i dont think the girl knew him at all or at least the killer didnt think so.

To Calvinins28 your idea on catching the Zodiac Killer is a good one. Like in the Unibomber case someone should have recognized his handwriting. But it seems odd that his neighbors or his relatives did not notices any strange behavior. The BTK killer was living in the community for many years and his wife dd not know he was a killer. How can you explain why this man was never caught
