  • esta es la primera pelea de andy que veo que pierde hehe

  • If you watch closely Shokei Matsui's arm is under Andy's arm while he throws the blow to his jaw/throat. Shokei Matsui's arm was swinging upwards and pushed Andy's thrown punch off target. The foul was unintentional and I think Andy was holding back. He was the first non-Japanese guy in the fight. If he won they wouldn't of allowed him to receive the trophy anyways. Japanese are strictly nationalist and hate outside races. I think Japan gave him leukemia too. They couldn't stand a better person

  • @Valient6 Karate is about self perfection. Perfection of one's own character. Also it is about respect. Respect towards other people and when it comes to training, respect towards your opponent is inevitable. I do not think such things you said, from Mas Oyama nor Matsui, or many other respectable karateka out there. I find it ridiculous to think that Andy would have been holding back. He did pretty well, don't you think? They were both great fighters.

  • @Valient6 Also, Mas Oyamas intention was to spread Kyokushin all over the world. So there's not much space for the "japanese or non-japanese" way of thinking.

  • what year is it from? Andy seems kind of young.

  • @CyborgSmurf It's ether from 1984 or 1987.

  • Thank goodness for the impartial decision. Japan has great honour! Not! lol

  • this is the real karate kid :)

  • mma is not a martial art, its a reglament. paz

  • the vido is great, but some of your language is filled with disrespect unbecomming a true martial artist.

  • MMA owns this shit

  • @cutieboy1802 No, MMA is shit because have no spirit and no respect. Their low kicks? From traditional martial arts. Their high kicks? From traditional martial arts. Their arms or leg locks? From traditional martial arts. But noooo, they have to disrespect the martial arts they use in combat. I guess it's okay, so is the kind of fight that would like to a brainless douche bag like you. Peace.

  • @TheKungfuzen you talk about respect and no spirit? Lets put light to the real life when people bounce on you. You gonna 'martial arts' them? Think about it. And my hypothesis is that MMA owns this! In other words, put both of them together, and you'll see who comes out victorious

  • @cutieboy1802 True, but it's also fact you are portraying yourself as another self-righteous MMA fag. You make other MMAers look bad.

  • @cutieboy1802 I'm also going to point out that these Kyokushin guys are no joke. No gloves shows how serious they are. I respect them for their body blows from what I see here. Also... why the hell would you wrestle on the ground in real life? You never want to stay on the ground no matter what you do.

  • @cutieboy1802

The only part of MMA that is useful in an actual fight is the striking, you'll get your head stomped on if you try take it to the ground. Kyokushin Karate is one of the strongest stand up styles around therefore your "hypothesis" is full of holes.

  • @cutieboy1802 Depends what rules you're laying down. You talking about a street fight? Well then no rules apply, maybe a kendo dude would beat an MMA fighter cuz he found a swordlike object nearby. If you're talking about a fight with certain rules, well then in MMA rules the MMA guy will win, if you're talking about Kyokushin rules, then the Kyokushin person will win.

  • @cutieboy1802 Then why do they wear gloves? Lol..

  • @NRevo790 they wear gloves cause their bare fist would dislocate the shit of out one another

  • @cutieboy1802

    MMA is for entertainment.

Go to your local club and get into a fight.

Lets see how many bouncers jump on you.

And lets see if your jiu-jitsu or Muay Thai will stop them.

Ive been in club fights and I use to be a bounce. Your BJJ wont work because in real fights ppl dont fight 1 on 1 and thats the only time your BJJ will win a fight.

Traditional karate or Tangsoodo can handle real fights.

    You forget....MMA has rules.

    The streets dont.

  • exelente y emocionante encuentro, gran gran pelea.....

  • Matsui is the person that went through the 100 man Kumite if I remember correctly.

  • andy wnt beet my muay thai teacher

  • Two amazing Fighters. There are not many fighters these days (bar kyoksuhin) who can go the distance they went for as long as they did. 10min at the level they were going at is somthing to be proud of, especialy with the techinique and power these two had. Most guys would be down with two kicks or punches. Let alone 1min.

  • Andy was so confused in this match , he is thinking 1000 time before he move his leg

but nice match anyway for Matsui

  • shokei masui miente y exagera un golpe eso no es de hombre no es de valiente

  • Kanch Matsui and Andy Hug are exceptional fighters and Kyokushin fighters...but I love the technique and precision which Kancho Matsui has. Hope I can have that much dicipline one day. Osu

  • Shokei Matsui clearly won the fight, I believe he even sweeped andy in round 1 - I don't know why a good timed gedan mawashi geri to the supporting leg, to drop your opponent isn't included as waza-ari, I thought it was & in my eyes its the same as a knockdown.

  • Lol, real karate men. The asian gets hit 1 time on the head and he gets dizzy. How does that work in a real fight?

  • @Sm0k4bl3 they been fighting more than an hour bareknuckle, so naturally you tire, I've seen the same happen to andy, so try to show some respect to fighters especially since you don't have the conditioning or mental strength to do that yourself.

  • @MUEEN007 They give body shots, sure those hurt. But one small blow to the face and mr karate man gets KO'd? I just don't see how that works in a real fight where they won't only hit you in the body, but mainly on the head. That means mr karateman won't stand a chance?

  • @Sm0k4bl3 he didn't get KO'd, he took a little time to get up because he's probably extremely tired after going at it for soo long, he did exaggerate the punch, to show judges it landed on his face which is illegal, there are plenty of videos of kyokushin karateka getting punched in the face & carrying on like nothing is happening. Your acting like he got KO'd lol he got back up in a few seconds & started fighting again, you can see how tired he is, look at his face.

  • @Sm0k4bl3 When you learn kyokushin karate, your taught punches to the head & everything, it's only in competition your not allowed, there are some karateka that don't train head punches & focus solely on competition, but their are many like me that spar regularly with face punches, the reason the rules are no punches to the face because anyone can punch & if you included face punch then you'd have to wear gloves, which would also make it less practical.

  • @MUEEN007 Oke thanks for letting me know

  • @Sm0k4bl3 mr karate this when he wants to hit the face he will break it in one punch only , who breaks stones no face will stand up in front of him , here is the difficult to break your enemie without touching his face , that's what i call a great fighter Osu!!!

  • thumbs up 4 ANDY HUG vs LYOTO MACHIDA!!!

  • @kcBombe It would be awesome but Andy Hug died 12 years ago if you didn't know....

  • @sebaale91 haha

  • What i like Matsui for is that he always kept his hands near his head. It's quite rare to see that in kyokushin fighters.

  • @HvPman most kyokushin fighters keep their hands at shoulder/chest level because its optimum distance between the head & body.

  • @MUEEN007 Yeah, I did kyokushin for about 3-4 years. I prefer to keep them near my head. )

  • 5:00 what a kick (Y) and matsui was so lucky

  • @cool93boy You're absolutely right. Any lower and I'm certain that would have ended the fight.

  • @cool93boy Andy was also lucky in 3rd round when he tried front kick and Matsui replyed with Yushiro Maashi Gairi. Andy was clearly beatan in lower kicks(Gedn Mawashi Gairi)

  • @cool93boy Watched this moment like 10 times and it seems like matsui was actually able to block the kick with his hands and by blocking I mean divert it a little bit higher + he tilted his head, great reaction!

  • 超攻撃型のアンディがカウンターしか狙えないくらいプレッシャーかけられてる、改めて松井章圭の強さが分かるな。

  • 30億の脱税王。武道家の面汚し。祖国へ帰国しろ。

  • Both great fighters with amazing technique and spirit. Osu.

  • i love Andy, but i think Matsui is better in this game, RIP Andy

  • great knockout though

  • i didnt mean any disrespect with my coment sorry if i offended anyone but i'm just a little tired of people imposing their religious beliefs on everyone else. but eh this is you tube and everyone who is everyone has to say something about something. but again sorry if i offended n e one

  • 7:45 Andy…dancing? lol

  • Wtf why are they only kicking.,..

  • What a tragedy, R.I.P. Andy Hug. A great person.

  • Великий против Великого!!!Действительно 2 легенды Каратэ

  • TKD/KONG FU/ NICE FIGHT

  • its like 80% of this guys in the vid all have "bro stashes" haha

  • хороший боец

  • Matsui seems tired? Hug is much more fresh!

  • Hmm. Not so good.

BTW. By DNA analysis in 2005, Japanese have similar DNA with Tibetan in East Asia. So, quite different from Korea or Chinese.

  • lol, that matsui is a boxer and the clincher type, not fun to watch . Handy was looking for the spectacular finish, matsui was looking for the decision ...

  • I think Master Matsui won the fight but it is very close...could have easily been a draw. Master Matsui looks like he could go another round or two. Sensei Hug had his mouth open gasping for air. But both gave good fight.

  • Japanese......the Nihonjin....ARE asian. Worldwide, approximately 130 million people are of Japanese descent; of these, approximately 127 million are residents of Japan. The adult literacy rate in Japan exceeds 99%. The ancestors of the modern Japanese have thier origins traced back to Mongolian, Korean as well as Han Chinese immigrants during the paleolithic era, so they are deffinately ASIAN.

  • I like Master Matsui's guard, excellent form. Sensei Hug's guard works for him i guess but i would use Master Matsui's guard. but both fought very well. A GREAT fight. But, imagine now if they allowed grappling like old school Kyokushin. Oyama O-Sensei studied Jujitsu and Aiki-Jujitsu at one time and those techniques were in the original Kyokushin as Goshin-jutsu (self-defence).

  • LUCHA DE TITANES!!....

  • gran pelea!!!!!!!!! esto es kyokushin!!!!!

  • gran pelea!!!!

  • ANDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • i respect andy & matsui but i think andy won the fight he conected more punches and kicks

  • 松井選手、本当はトンプソンに試割枚数では負けていました、でもマス大山の指示で体重判定、試割判定は行なわれていません。

  • what the fuck is this girls palming eachother in the chest

  • 5:00 so fast...

  • This is some weak ass shit, slapping is for gurls

  • @luckypx

It is right?Lets seee you fight against those guys.

  • @Cadbil

Your mama is the bitch and yes she slapped me, with the inside of her thighs........... you don't like it come see me little smart ass fagget... .

  • Respond to this video... I'm ranked 4th in the I.B.C. Keep you eyes open I will post my next fight. And btw Fuck you and your Jap lover! This AZIAN PRYDE!!!! Fuck a Jap!

  • @luckypx what are you some kind of idiot? japanese are asian too

  • @Frequent2001 NOW UR THE IDIOT FUCKING DUMB HONKYS,," OH THEY ALL THE SAME" FYI JAPS ARE NOT ASIANS THEY ARE DOGS, TO BE BEATEN AND KILLED FUCKEM, WE ASIANS ARE AS FAR BEYOND JAPS AS THEY ARE BEYOND YOU, IDIOT!!! LOL

  • @luckypx

you can call me an idiot all you want, but its obvious who is the idiot here, since by definition japanese people are asian. so not only you are an idiot but you are also illiterate, and immature.

  • @Frequent2001 hes just pissed his japanese girlfriend broke up with him

  • @Frequent2001

there are different definitions for "asian". in some definitions japanese aren't considered asian,

he's not an idiot, you're just superficial.

  • @Ksharp1fan look in any dictionnary, asia includes japan, of course if you look into the mentally challenged fact book then you will find some different definitions..

  • @Frequent2001

according to the atlas the middle east is in asia too but middle easterners aren't referred to as asians in the west. however in the middle east and central asia people identify themselves as asians.

bottom lines is different people have different definitions for asia, please get the fuck over it.

  • @Ksharp1fan why are you talking about the middle east you stupid motherfucking imbecile, japan is in asia, or some say pacific asia, so its still in asia. only idiots like you have a stupid definition for things, people that follow an illogical path of thinking.

  • @Frequent2001

you're a fucking cock sucker who thinks the whole world revolves around the western definitions. fuck off bigot

  • @Ksharp1fan WHat fucking world you and he grew up on? Everyone in the WHOLE world knows that Japanese are Asians, even they know that. dumb asses all over the place.

  • @kingj0n

and you're speaking from experience... you've been to the whole world right?

I'm not saying japanese aren't asians retard I'm just saying if someone says japanese aren't asians it's their opinon don't get all butt hurt about it. luckypx is who said japs aren't asian

    get off my balls people

  • @luckypx

IBC? Insurance Bureau of Canada? :P What kind of asian are you then?

  • @luckypx tell that to David Shultz or Bas Rutten, they just might bitch slap your sorry silly ass into the ground! LOL

  • i wish that i have time machine to travel to this time it was so so awesome!

  • @Jesuschristus dominus. From one catholic to another(sorry if you are not catholic just assuming cause your sn is in Latin) religion is alot like a penis... Great to have one, great to be proud of having one... But don't go waving it around in public or shoving it down peoples throats!

  • @soloslave1985 lol that's one of the best metaphors i've ever heard xD

  • @soloslave1985 Amen

  • @soloslave1985 hahaha dude ur simile was halarious. i was like "wtf?!" when i got to the "religion is a lot like a penis" part, but from then on its just total LOL XD. btw, im christian. just sayin. ;)

  • @soloslave1985 interesting perspective xD

  • @soloslave1985 where does this shit come from? what do you consider all the temples and parades in japan or the martial arts kumite which has significant ties to shinto. if you want to use your logic understand these institutions that have been around hundreds of years and wont go away because you were born yesterday and think its wrong to be religious in public. not everyone has your particular values respect that by recognizing the banality of your complaint.

  • @00Jackacid You're taking this the wrong way buddy. He is not saying that you cannot practice religion, he is saying that you can't go around saying that your religion is right, and others' religions are wrong. You have every right to practice your beliefs, but you have to let others find their own.

  • @soloslave1985 i've got to remember that 1 :D

  • @soloslave1985 this was the wisest comment about religion I've EVER read !!! Thank you so much. I'll surely pass it forward.

  • @mikebart70 please do!:)

  • Andy Hug threw some great kicks in that match- his spinning ones at least. Loved that Roundhouse Shokei Matsui executed to his face in the middle of the match

  • Believe in Jesus and be free from the ties of devil...

  • 7:45

  • @lamoncha123 he´s Stan from monkey island

  • some things to notify:

1: how beautiful the Kyokushin-Kaikan was still unified in these days with Sosai alive before the splitup.

You can see shihan midori kenji supporting shokei matsui and you can hear hatsuo royama talking with the commentator as well as supporting matsui.

2: no kanji yet on the karate uniforms, pretty weird these days if you see it without kanji.

3: Matsui was totally owning Andi Hug here already since the 1st round, yet still they let them have 2 extension rounds.

    Osu!!

  • Michael Thompson .....young...

  • Comment removed

  • u know the Japanese dropped after that head punch was weird, i dont think any fighter that instantly falls after an illegal strike was badly hurt by that strike, maybe just to show that the opponent did something illegal like grabbing ur balls after someone hit em

  • @AintDoneYet123 Considering that the entire audience noticed quite promptly that Andi slipped a jaw shot in there.

Matsui fell down because he got hit in the jaw by a kyokushin karateka....Andi Hug for that matter. Y u so ignorant. ^_^.

  • @corvanjer ignorant? i didnt say anything bad towards andy and maybe that other guy can take a punch?

    Y u so ignorant. ^_^.

  • @AintDoneYet123 You don't have a clue of what ignorance is.

stating that the 'fighter' (who becomes concussed, btw.) only falls to the ground to 'show the opponent has done an illegal act' is complete idiocy.

That right there shows your ignorance to martial arts and disrespects it entirely. You don't know what you're talking about - ignorance.

Both of these karateka have a great deal of respect for the martial way.

  • @corvanjer ur ignorant cuz ur are not involved in this kind of competition or in sport in general and trying to convince me that u know something and calling me ignorant, u dont know what ur talking about even if in this case its not true and that punch did hurt it happens in other cases.

i dont disrespect shit u idiot its what ive seen before so dont go and make me a bad guy cuz 2 me u sound kinda stupid for acussing me for disrespecting something when i clearly didnt

  • @AintDoneYet123 Lol.

You're the one who stated that

" i dont think any fighter that instantly falls after an illegal strike was badly hurt by that strike, maybe just to show that the opponent did something illegal like grabbing ur balls after someone hit em"

For one, saying they weren't hurt, is ignorance, secondly saying that Matsui only fell over to show that Andi hit him in the face, is guess what? Ignorance! :D.

  • @corvanjer huh?

  • this match does not allow to hit the head right?

  • @llqq1994 There are no hand strikes allowed to the head, but kicks to the head are permitted and are awarded the highest points.

  • ye ofc it not hard andi is not even good (only a legend)

  • @Deecee022 Sure you can.

  • a gentleman fighter is hug...can see he's genuinely upset at landing an accidental punch to the head...so much so that he pretty much stops trying to win from the time the fight is restarted, adopting a defence only strategy. classy guy.

  • @TheKevvvMan I did that too in one of these tournaments: /

  • EN el 2:50 increible manera de eskivar el barrido...

  • 歴史に残る名勝負だ!

  • @9tmchichi You tend to drop your hands when you fight with a style where you can't punch to the head while sparring.

  • @stardust005 There's a little trick to avoiding that. Five two minute rounds with a partner or two who are going to hit you in the head if your hands come down, do it once or twice a week. I took it up because there's less people in my dojo who can reach my head with kicks these days and I took a head kick at a tournament due to my low guard.

  • Andy Hug was a real badass.

    R.I.P

    Greetz from Amsterdam.

  • andy hug seems to have improved a lot when he joined k-1 but this is kinda cool too

  • Battle of the legends.... I love it.

  • 5:00 that could kill Chuck Norris...

  • @tiroso not kill him but end those stupid jokes too

  • 6:10, Mas Oyama thought: fucking successor doesn´t do anything

  • 7:44 he is crazy HAHAHA !

  • @7:44 lawlawl

    great fight, very tense

  • Clash of the Titans !!!... Kancho Matsui is a clear winner... U can see fear, tiredness, looser reaction from Andy's face... Andy's almost given up ..

Matsui looks composed and cool, though he's tired too...

  • watching this. how does andy just stand there and keep taking the beating. Man his tough!

  • The reason why the Japanese aren't winning world championships nowadays is because many of the great's only competed in one or two world tournaments and now most of them are out of serious competition, however the next generation will be the one's to watch out for - 2012 OSU

  • Both Andy and matsui are great fighters, however I think matsui clearly won this fight. He was much more aggressive and accurate. I think andy did win the 2nd round but 1st and 3rd was definitely matsui, he had control as he kept pushing andy around the mat. I think matsui is a very intelligent fighter. Can't believe some people on here are saying the early world champs only won because they were japanese lol its cos they were the best in there times - u saying kenji midori aint world class? OSU

  • To me, it seems Matsui was cheating. Look at the vid, he's grabbing tu upper part of the Andi's gi. Plus, he keeps pushing him ayway with the hands and sometimes hitting him after the referee stop the fight. Through my eyes, it doesn't seem very fair for Andi from the part of the Japanese who weren't impartial at all. Why do you, people, think about that?

  • @Fullzerohacker but then you can argue that andi hit matsui in the face, and could have been disquilified

  • @BAE51C I haven't seen it but I guess you're right. And even Andi has hit Matsui in the face, Matsui has done more and more faults. That's not really fair no?

  • @Fullzerohacker The pushing that he does is completely allowed. And the hitting after stopping the fight, happens all the time, nobody cares as long as you don't knock one out. It's not very easy to stop the fight just at the right moment.

  • @pastropmal Yeah, of course, I do understand what you mean. But, it's not the referee's fault, it's the fighter's fault. Or maybe it's just me, because I'm practing regularly kyokushin and I have sparing combats every week and that's not something which happens in the dojo I go. And I believe pushing the opponent with open hands is forbidden, but if a punch push away, that's not a problem.

  • Now i know why his name is andy hug

  • very boring

  • @rooneyohyes1 you dont understand nothing

  • @lunatic20000 apart from your a very boring man

  • It was definitely a draw. Matsui won because fight took place in Japan.

  • Matsui clearly won the first round. Andi won the 2nd round, but it was a close call. The 3rd round was kinda like a draw, except for Andi punching Matsui in the face, which is not allowed. So Matsui won the fight.

  • Respect.

  • LOL!!!

    This was good!!

Let me see them UFC fuckers go thru match after match to reach the finals.

    They cant do that shit!!!!

  • I do think that as of now a lot of the champions do come from the European contries and those of the former Soviet regime. I have fought against a lot of Polish and Spanish and Bulgarian fighters and they seem to be a lot stronger and fight for a greater purpose. What ever that is, but to be fair to the Japanese, they still have the best teachers and the strongest masters and from thier schools there are up an comming fighters that have, can and will prove to be the worlds best.

  • @coolassjoker heart has nothing to do with race, it`s about the man inside

  • @coolassjoker this is so good to watch than the pay per view boxing and other shit,Andy Hug is class :) I agree with what you said too bro :)

  • @coolassjoker you are right in my opinion most japanese pro's often fail in being best champions, they are more best senseis true

  • @coolassjoker

hey. i recently started kyokushin, and most if not all the people/instructors there are Polish, Ukrainian or Russian (I have nothing against that, keep reading). They are very good. I was just wondering if there was a reason that kyokushin is (I'm guessing) popular in east Europe?

  • @KraZKaiL I would guess as Kyokushin, probably at one time, was the largest organization in karate, Oyama had a method down of landing strong branch cheifs, and also sending students to various areas to start schools, eastern europe is close to japan, maybe similar to judo spreading to sanbo in russia, if that makes any sense?

  • @blugularis

yea makes a lot of sense. Thanks!

  • @coolassjoker It's however japanese style, but people from all over the world proved a style isn't a nationality, it's will, it's a culture. So I can't exactly agree that the japanese are the best for sure.

  • THis is a clear fight where andy is going best , but if the matsui lose this fight it will be japnese insult and oyama, so they keep continue the tradition for winnig for japnese players, it was when mas oyama alive, but now there is eight part of kyukishen karate world. and champions are from euroup and others. what you think??

  • @JalilKarateMaster

You crazy. Andy Hug was not that aggressive and he keep missing his kicks. The match wasnt over. Plus he got points takin away for hittin Shokei in the face. And yes there are many Kyokushin karate championships now but are they legit? By this I mean anyone can host a tournament and put "World Championship" in the title. Then you'll have ppl talkin about how they won the world championship. Come on!
