i heard somewhere that this guy is an electrical engineer and routed all the lights to a switchboard controlled by a computer. I think he also has his own radio signal broadcasting the music out to radios near him.
He (or she) could be a technician that's experienced in this stuff. He could even be one of the technicians at the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's concerts.
I didn't know it was live. I heard it was shot frame by frame and put together! Live would be soooo cool, not to mention they have WAY too much time on their hands!!!
