Funny, we're the same age, I was a spectator at this race, then worked with Davy on some BMW programs 20 years later...

Davy's one of the most interesting yet unassuming, genuine racers I've met and worked with. LeMans, IMSA, F1 tests w/ Schumacher/ Beneton, NASCAR, 2nd @ Indy... people have asked him to write a biography

main race this weekend was slim pickins.......couple corvettes, 1 ferrari, 1 gt 40, 2 bmws, 1 viper, 1 panoz, and "can-am" style acuras, mazdas, and porsche..............blame the economy?

They should bring this back... more modern but with almost the same body style... I don't know I just love the way these GTP cars look...

Yes Hendrick was invooved in IMSA with a GM supported Corvette GTP with a Turbo 3.0L V-6.

That's great stuff. I really miss The American Sports Cavalcade. They were great in their motorsport coverage at the time. If you have anymore... please post some up! I'm dying to find footage from the '86 Columbus GTP & GTO/U races.
