Bruce Almighty was NOTHING like Jim's old stuff. By that time, he was already established as a family actor, not a comedic actor.

He stopped using profanity, made it obvious that he was holding back, didn't come up with any new routines, and even made the "sex scenes" with Jennifer Aniston highly PG.

I want the PG-13 Jim Carrey back. The one who wasn't afraid to jerk off in the jungle and fall out of a fake rhino's ass naked.

The reason most critics didn't like it was because of the certain blowjob scene.. (wont spoil anything) which seemed inappropriate. But honestly, that movie NEEDED something that extreme to show the rational/irrational ways of going about saying "yes".

Additionally, I thought the plot line made alot of sense, since almost every character/lessons learned came back later in the movie to have a significant impact.

This movie was great, not the best (duh) but great!

4/5 for me.
