  • Nice tutorial. I'm surprised it just takes a plastic scrubber to do this. I feel like doing this to the back of an iPod touch, only put the scrubber on a drill to give it a circular texture.

  • Thanks, i fucked up my iphone ;D( Dont do this with the 3gs, the chrome around the display is plastic ;D

  • i just found out how to hack wifi with my iphone, ipod touch and ipad!! iwifihack . net

  • Nice but now would this work on my ipod 4g the back on it scratches really easy

  • Remember kids... ;)

  • Remember kids... ;)

  • kinda funny how you did this tutorial in front of an HP logo.

  • what's this iphone model?? and where can i buy this one??

    pls awnser^^

  • @iHontail It's the first gen IPhone.. You can get it anywhere on the internet for very cheap!!

  • looks fucking cool!

  • That looks much better! The chrome on my iphone looks a bit tacky, so I might try this out.

  • does it work for ipod touch 3 gen?

  • too bad you couldn't fix up the plastic backing on the 3Gs

  • bullshit

  • if this wasnt in high speed we would still be watching tomoro lol

  • Nice !!!

    .. Name of Music ?!

  • this works with the ipod touch right?

    it looks great!

  • @relented Yeah, same stuff just with the iPod Touch you can do the entire back of it.

  • this guy stole your video lol bust him!

    W W W . youtube . com / watch?v=WNPTlMbKyFM&feature=related

  • i´ve got a question!

I heard that the back from the ipod after the brushing oxididized! is that right or wrong?

    Please answer me quickly!

  • Worked great for me. My own tip would be to brush the metal in 1 lateral direction (keep it straight) or else you will have a 'home made' look if the 'brushes' have different directions/angles.

Don't do the back because its too large to brush metal at home without having the brush lines slightly change direction.

Anyway, it definitely looks better and emphasizes the shape.

  • i really can't stand that chrome and want the brushed metal look for my ipod touch but i don't want to ruin anything, so you have to know what your doing so you won't ruin the screen

  • i totally agree

  • Do you think it could Look good to with a iPod Touch 2g?

  • no.

  • @fbrzezik2008 I just did it to my ipod touch 2g. Do you want me to make a vid? Its looks absolutely fantastic.

  • @SpartanDara117 It would be great if you would make a vid! thx

  • @fbrzezik2008 working on the video right now lol. Should be up in an hour or so.

  • @fbrzezik2008 Ya sorry my internet is failing now. I'll upload tommorow or after tommorow sry

  • Also ich hab das mit einem Chrome Cover und der Leiste gemacht und das sieht Genial aus. Halt wie gebürstetes Aluminium!

  • brushed or original chrome ? original for me!

  • whats this songggggggggggg

  • The Birthday Massacre - Falling Down

  • thanks bud

  • @audiolaxrk78 Shazaaaaaaaam!!!

  • @falconxample fuck

  • it works perfectly!

  • What a great idea!

    Very well made video...thanks!

  • It's strange, because I was searching Google for turning chrome into brushed metal because I wanted to find a decent way of turning this motorcycle exhaust from chrome to brushed.

I didn't expect the number one video I find to be for the chrome on the iPhone.

    Nice vid, dude.

  • That looks hella sexy!!!:)

  • Sweet. It works and it doesn't make your screen sticky. If it does just wipe it off. Dont be a baby about it.

  • will this work with a 3g too?

  • That looks super sexy! I'll be doing this to my iPhone 2G soon! Thanks!

  • dude the tape is sticky and now ur iphones screen is sticky when u touch it

  • No, no it's not.

  • @NAVODRAGON8 lol, clearly you haven't worked with electrical tape. And as I type, I'm doing this to my iPod touch. . . I'll be a wile. And I'm using an old screen protector in place of the electrical tape. Wish me luck. And also, how long did this take?

  • @jakeh2034 About 5 minutes for each surface to get the brushed look.

  • @NAVODRAGON8 If that is the case for you, you can get rid of it using Benzine.

  • nice video dude

    looked awesome!

  • can this be used with ipod 2g?

  • Holy shit, that looks nice, I'm thinking about doing it on my 3G but it just goes much better on the 2G complementing the metal back. I'll rob end up doing it on my black 16 GB tho, just incredible.

  • does that tape leave glitches or something after remove?

  • thanks :P

  • does it have to be a certain kind of tape?

  • no, as long as it blocks you from scrtahing anything other then the metal

  • looks great on my 3g

  • Do you mind posting a few pictures?

  • id take some pics but i dont have a camera

  • use the camera of your iPhone 3G lolz

  • you cant take a pic of ur iphone from ur iphone camera if it points away... and so waht if u can use mirror..

  • it was a joke, geez you kinda ruinedit

  • yeah i know lol. my little bro was on and he wanted to do stuff for his ipod. o well.

  • so that means when you do brush the back of iphone you cover the apple logo with the tape??i dont get it man. so how can i brush the back of iphone if the apple logo not allowed to brush??

  • You don't.

  • what sort of pad is it that ur using to do that mate?

  • An abrillo pad, used for dishes... normally.

  • already did it after watching the video :) i can now use my iphone without a case without it looked nasty with all them scratches! it practically looks brand new again :) thanks for the vid

  • Will this also work for the 3G?

  • i dont get it

  • HE Doesn't like the crome margin of the iphone and he brushed it with some glasspaper with a big granulation and now he has a brushed metal margin of the iphone wich looks professional.

  • I have the same case xD

Will it work for the back of a Ipod touch?

And if it works, will the Apple logo be damaged?

Sprry if there are some mistakes, im studying english

  • if anything, the chrome makes it look more expensive, sleek and better just overall

  • Looks great, just did it to my black 16GB, I also did the chrome buttons and it looks awesome. I used sandpaper though!

    Lovin' my 'new' iPhone.

By the way, mine wasn't scratched at all, I just never liked the chrome look :D

  • ill buy it

  • Just in correction, my laptop is a Gateway.

    P.S.

The thing I hate more than lima bean and cock roaches are ignorant apple fan boys.

  • Look's great....but the HP laptop has to go!!

    Macbook Pro be better background!!!

  • What can I say.... very very clever.

by the way do you think it will work for the back of a ipod touch? I'm curious because of the apple logo on the back will it be damaged by this brush technique?

anyway thanks for the great video

  • HOLY MOTHER OF HOLY GOD YOU MUST BE JESUS CHRIST !!! I'm speechless !!!

Could you give us a few more tips ? Is there a place we would find more pictures ? Please please please ! And I believe I could do it on the iPhone 3G as well (well, I dont know the effect of ScotchBrite on plastic..)

  • You can find more pictures at the link under the more video info.

  • I'm a bit confused. Did you brush the entire back of the iphone too, or just the edge? Does this help against scratches, or is it still as vulnerable?

  • Hi, i want to put this tutorial on iPhoneCritique (dot com)... send me a message if you let me post it...

    Thanks, fuser

  • nice dude clever idead to do this in my opinion both the chrome and the brush steel look awsome. give it more of a "im a professional" look : D but yeah upload some more pics of it finished

  • so... what was the poin of all that tape was it not to bruch the glass or somthing ?

  • Since the phone was new, It was just an extra precaution in the way of avoiding scratches on the glass as well as the back of the phone. Since then, I've dropped the phone a few times, and I've brushed out the little nicks and scratches on the metal without using the tape, and It hasnt scratched the rest of the phone, just try not to apply too much pressure on the glass while brushing.

  • this looks like a good idea...but im scared to try it out...i had the same stupid problem with my incase protector!!!

  • thats hawt. ima do it to my touch

  • Let us know how that turns out.

  • what will it do on an ipod touch?

  • I did it to my Ipod Touch, and it is better in my opinion. Less Finger prints.

  • Like I said... The apple logo chrome on the back of the iPhone is NOT the same as the chrome border on the front of the iPhone. You can't brush it.

As for the pictures, check out the link on the video info.

Request more pictures and i'll snap and upload them.

  • Great vid. Looks great. Thank you.

  • Hi dude, that's a really nice idea! Could you upload another video with some more photos of your work? Expecially on the back, the apple logo, and a closer look where the side and upper buttons are .. ? Good on ya again for sharing the idea!

  • ya.. did u do the back? if so how do u do it, i mean do u need to tape around it as well!? thnx!

  • The back of an iPhone isn't chrome like an iPod. The apple logo on the back is chrome, but i don't think its metal, I already tried using the brushed metal look on it, but it's not the same metal material as the border.

  • so why dont do it to the back aswel?
