MoodyJill-you continue to blow me away with what you find. How many bands would drag half an orchestra to appear on Leno? Only the legendary Moodies-and I miss Ray (though Norda is fantastic).
Last time I saw them was in 1992 Harrahs, Lake Tahoe, NV. Best Moody Blues show I ever saw. The stage, the orchestra, the back up singers, the band all looked and perfomed phenomenomally. This band is one of my all time favorites and you can tell they love performing for their fans. When Justin sings it's as if he is singing just to you.
Ah the beauty of the early Moody Blues music----why did they go off the deep end after they reunited and come out with all the overproduced crap in the last couple of year?
Yup, I remember seeing this on TV that night.. I remember the song, yes, btu I've seen it so many times they run together. But I remember the interview question about the guy with the leg.
The Moody Blues have moved way above/ahead of the R&R Hall of Fame. The HOF could save no face by inducting them now. It would almost be a joke. Great clip!
Ahh, Ray Thomas was still with them for this appearance. Great Band!! Justin, John and Graeme are still out there performing. Hall of Fame doesn't know talent, especially with some of those people they allowed in. The Moody Blues should have been in YEARS AGO!!
yea they sound amazing still have it and are still touring this song has always stirred deep emotions inside of me that i might not have known where there took me away and painted a picture of piece in my mind breath taking truly breath taking it stands on its own and has always been my favorite above nights in white satin but i have grown to love nights in white satin over the years as well
Thank you for this. As always, the guys look grand! My headphones couldn't pick both sides. Only the right ear played. Did anyone encounter this? Again, thanks~ Janet
@moodybluepassions These guys have been selling out arenas since I was 4, now I'm 47, with no end in sight. And they aren't in the hall of fame. Brittney Spears will probably get inducted somehow before they will. I could go on all night. but I think you get my point. I guess I'm preaching to the choir. I'm glad you have such good taste in music.
@moodybluepassions Thank you moodybluepassions for agreeing with me. And to top it all off, they aren't in the Hall Of Fame, but who is? Joan Jett and her 3 songs are. Unbelievable.
@moodybluepassions Thank you, I was hoping at least one person would agree. Calling them pop singers would be comparing them to Lady CaCa and all of the other pop acts that suck.
Hubby and I (and a bunch of Moody friends) were there in the audience, after standing all day in line! This was an incredible night. Then we all converged on Vegas for more shows at Caesars and our wedding on the 25th :-) Lifelong memories, this video makes it even better!
That was very fascinating to see and the story told by Justin was very funny indeed. The Moodies rule and deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, what do you say folks, let's hear it.
They are all gorgeous! Justin is a golden one to look at, but they all have that special something. Their music is simply timeless. Kids today could learn a few lessons from this MUSIC, as opposed to the junk they listen to which has absolutely no melody and atrocious words that pass for lyrics.
@alienhuman I am sorry to disagree. John and the others did not want to play their classics. They felt dead about it. I respect a composer's fancy. But I listen 98% to those that perform their classics as they get older.
This is truly phenomenal!! Oh how I love this!! Justin looks amazing as always!! Oh how his voice touches my heart so deeply!! The Moodies are pure brilliance!! And Justin is one gorgeous, gorgeous man!! This is a wonderful upload Jill!! I so love it!! ILY Justin!! The Moodies forever my friends!! ♥
Jill!!! This is so wonderful!!! I LOVE THIS!!!! Thank you so much for sharing these unseen by me treasures!! This is absolutely priceless..... going in my favorites for sure!!!
Their East Coast tour starts soon, I wonder if they'll hit any of the talk shows again.

It takes an entire orchestra to replace Mike Pinder on the mellotron.,,,

The Hall of fame lacks The Moody Blues, Rush, and Heart = That should be considered as crimes against humanity.
But LL Cool J got right in. Ya know, because of the decades of hits he produced.... PFFFFFFFFFFT!!

Wow-thanks for bringing up the headphones because I thought mine were
broken. I don't think the vocals were that great because it was recorded off
of an analoge TV. Anyhow-agree with everyone about the Hall of Fame.
These guys really deserve their own special category. I truly believe that
they saved the sanity of many guys who were drafted into the Vietnam War
and came home to still more insanity. Teenagers in high school these days
can not imagine what it was like then -the draft into war.

Unfortunately, Jay referred to them as pop legends. There is only 1 band similar to
The Moody Blues; Pink Floyd. Neither of whom are in the class of pop music. I think their music would be called "The Moody Blues" and "Pink Floyd".
