Even with a public option, this woman's relative MAY NOT qualify, esp. if she can't pay for the premiums b/c she's out of a job. Now, It would be nice if the Democrats released an actual plan of how low these premiums would be, so we'd know if it would actually insure the poorest among us.

This video totally takes Cantor's words out of context. Cantor NEVER said she should "beg." Tell me where he said that. I watched the video again a few minutes, and what he actually said was "Look for low-cost hospitals or public insurance programs and see if she qualifies." That's all he said! Now, yes, he didn't say he was for the public option, I'll give you that, but his comments at this town hall were a helluva lot better than traditionally Republicans have handled this issue.

I agree that legalizing cross-state insurance would help but not as well as the creation of a market forcing competition between other insurance co... and to drive prices down further, why not a choice provided by the gov? You would still have to pay premiums but now they are affordable for everyone! Isn't that what we need?

Anyway, I find it odd that people opposed to health care reform reference their Congressman's health insurance plan. There are even tea party signs saying "I want what my Congressman's got". Do they realize that is a public plan? Do the Republicans in Congress see the hypocrisy of being on a public plan and decrying public plans as socialism. I'm not entirely sure if I support Obama's plan, or any public plan, but I find the hypocrisy a turn off.

Also, the America people are trusting the Senators and Congressmen who are completely covered by health insurance and who have clinics in their office buildings run by military medical personnel for their 24 hour care to make a decision regarding the American publics health care. They couldn't care less. A majority use the military treatment facilities at Bethesda and Walter Reed with priority over active duty personnel and other military beneficiaries.
