  • The Browns will never have another play-by-play man like Nev Chandler. Donovan is ok, but Nev was fun to listen to. Not only was he another fan, just like the rest of us, but he had a vocabulary that boggled the mind. Phrases like "it's bedlam on the Browns sideline" and "It's Pandemonium Palace at the House of Thrills on Lake Erie" were common. I loved how he painted a visual image of the game "Kosar & Company are moving the chains left-to-right across your radio dial" and his signature "5, 4,

  • Rocky River's own. What an unbelieveable talent and gone so soon.

  • Great guy and told it like it was, just like his predecessor Gib. Died way too young.

During a bad home loss, he'd say "and the fans are filing in exit formation." Classic.

He and Diek were soooo good together. Those were the days.

  • IT'S PANDEMONIUM AT CLEVELAND MUNICIPAL STADIUM!!!!!!!

  • I know those radio calls!! They were all from the 1986 season. The first one was when Slaughter caught the touchdown pass to beat the Steelers 37-31 in overtime. The second one was when we beat the Jets 23-20 in double overtime in the AFC divisional playoff game. Thanks for posting this! This sure did bring back som great memories!!!

  • Nev ruled the airwaves for the browns. Jim Donovan, and Gib Shanley (RIP too) are,and were good. Casey Coleman was kinda blah. (after Nev died).

  • R.I.P. Nev Chandler 1947-1994 We all miss you!

  • We still love Nev. My favorite was his 5-4-3-2-1-TOUCHDOWN BROWNS!!!!

  • thats what he's most famous for.

  • Yeah. He was great .

  • Radio calls are all from the 1986 season.

The first call was Kosar's game winning TD pass to Webster Slaughter against Pittsburgh in OT in November.

2nd call was Kosars pass to Slaughter in the wanning seconds of the AFC divisional playoff game against the Jets

3rd call was the game winning field goal by Mark Mosely in double OT

  • Hey Triple S, This is T_N_T from The ClevelandFAN, is this from that CD that Browns put out before they came back? I have that CD this sounds like a track from that.

  • Hey, whatsup?

Yeah, ripped it of the CD.

  • Thanks for posting this. I grew up listening to Nev call games. He was to the Browns games like Hamilton is to the Indians.

  • Thanks for putting this up. Brings back great memories of the browns. Wish today's browns could perform like that, but with an inept coach and byarlon dropping the ball every five seconds, we have no chance.
