  • is that a horse on its hind legs on there hats if it was what does it mean ?

  • My grandfather worked at the BBC during those years, he remembered hearing them sing in the dressing rooms.

Was sorry to hear of David Croft's passing, very sad indeed.

  • The Lyrics are just beatiful and most entertaining-thank you for preserving this gem from 'The Master' !

  • Dad's army is such a lovely tv show!!!! i discovered it thanks to this song of Noel Coward's

  • Spendid!

  • @bazfanv2 lol, it's a light machine gun

  • @TheSpecOpsAirsoft1 I really do wish people would read the description properly. I did say it was a light machine gun (in brackets).

  • @bazfanv2 sorry, I did the faggot thing where I post before I read. Sorry :)

  • @TheSpecOpsAirsoft1 No worrys my freind. Did you enjoy the video. Theres a few more on my channel, if you want to check them out too. :)

  • @bazfanv2 haha, luv the song and Dad's Army

  • lovely and quaint !

  • @bazfanv2 ... it made aiming as a whole a lot harder, because the ironsights were positioned to the right of the barrel, as opposed to above it.

  • @bazfanv2 You're thinking of the Sten (The first SMG with an integral supressor.).

The Bren gun wasn't an SMG, it was a light machine gun.

Also, as amazingly epic as this video, and Dad's Army is (I have all of the DVDs), the Union Jack at the end, with "DIG FOR VICTORY" is upside down.

But yeah, whilst the Bren was one of the best LMGs used in WW2, the TMH receiver being on the top (Making it easier to reload, because you could keep the weapon's sights on target whilst reloading.)...

  • They really do win.

  • @bazfanv2 you're thinking of the sten gun.

  • @bazfanv2 The Bren Gun is a light machine gun. A submachine gun fires pistol rounds at a low velocity with a high rate of fire, the Bren Gun fires a high caliber round at high velocity with a much slower rate of fire.

  • they can't do better than this.

  • This show was originally broadcast on Monday the 28th of December 1970 does any one out there know if the entire Coward Revue ; it was a tribute to Noel Coward and also included a performance by Ray Davis among others. From an age when the BBC cared to entertain look at the schd 2nite(Xmas Monday 2010) Casualty and Endears hardly what you want on a Bank Holiday and people say the BBC still does a good, bollocks!

  • had this in my head the other day.. all day! I love it.. and I'm 21. Says a lot doesn't it??

  • @premuimbond : Good show! same here from Holland! Dad's Army ftw!

The german parachutists never stood a chance against these chaps!

  • Tiddely po

  • That (appart from the 3 missing episodes) is only Dads Army clip I haven't saw. Until now obviously.

  • I've been looking for this for ages, I thought this was sung at the end of one of their episodes! :P

  • Fantastic! I don't remember ever seeing this before, thanks so much for posting it. The sublime combination of Coward and Dad's army is a real joy.

  • brilliant

  • This just shows the inginuity of these incredible actors - going back to their roots and performing, I'm sure, as if it were an audition for their first job! Well done and thanks for posting. 1st Class.
