the majority of artermarket speakers are either non clothe cones, or clothe cones coated in some form of plastic, also the majority have rubber butyll surrounds, and a strip of sealing barrier on the under rim of the speaker frame to make the speaker 100% air tight from the opposite side. i.e. its water tight, and waterproof as well.

every speaker will continue to work if you submerge it into water. this is nothing special. water going into the voice coil wont short it out.

@Tetradigm The cones of some speakers are made from cartboard or thick paper, when uncoated these speakers won't even last a minute.
If the connectors and inner soldering are exposed this can rapidly erode due to the water and electricity.

Not true. Water will leak through the spider into the voice coil. In those lil speakers the spider is very flimsy
